  1. Depends on how you read it but yes at least for the Yankees and Padres. The Rays, Rangers and Dbacks probably have some regression coming at some point.
  2. Dalvin Cook to be released. https://www.nfl.com/news/vikings-to-release-rb-dalvin-cook-after-six-seasons Vikings will save about $9m in cap space with this move. There is still a possibility a trade maybe worked out but very unlikely.
  3. The Brewers bats are rather bad.....
  4. Middleton had minor knee surgery: https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nba/bucks/2023/06/08/milwaukee-bucks-all-star-khris-middleton-had-right-knee-surgery-after-nba-playoffs/70302028007/ I wonder if he will be opting in instead of out now?
  5. The best option in the OF is if the White Sox continue to falter and become sellers. If they put Luis Robert out there then I would have to think about something like a Frelick++++ deal. This would move Wiemer from CF to RF at a somewhat of a cost at defense in CF. I think Laureano will be expensive as there will be other teams like the Yankees looking to get someone like him. If the Cardinals continue to struggle and O'Neil comes back and is healthy then I think there is a fit there and the Yankees go for him instead of Laureano but that will cost them more. For Laureano you are looking at a Gasser+ type of a deal. I don't think Laureano would be worth that. I think he turns into a Schoop type of a trade. Lane Thomas is probably an easier get from the Nationals. Thomas vs LHP: .360/.422/.627. Another option against LHP would be Nick Senzel from the Reds who is hitting .455/.500/.659 against LHP. This maybe the hardest trade if no one in the NL Central is walking away with the division. I think another SP is probably another need if Woodruff is not able to come back.
  6. I am always up for getting a referral bonus if you let me know what your expertise is I can do a recommendation at my company for a job in your expertise.
  7. Shane Bieber may become available during the deadline and that is a possible player who could bring as much value as Burnes does. So there really isn’t no one. Wheeler could also become available if the Phillies continue to struggle.
  8. Over an hour late on my lunch order and I get a $1.90 refund for wings. Will never order from WingZone ever again.
  9. Majority of scouts don’t see him as a pitcher and see him as a RF. His athleticism would be wasted at 1B.
  10. Urias activated Brosseau to Nashville. Ruf to 60-day IL.
  11. Exit velocity + launch angle is far more telling. If you have a high exit velocity and a very low launch angle that wouldn’t be good as that is a lot of ground balls. Same could be true for an extremely high launch angle though most of those are going to go for extra base hits. Exit velocity tells us how good the batter hit the ball and launch angle helps to determine the success or perceived success of that exit velocity. I believe a 14-20 degree launch angle is what you want to see.
  12. I think with the new rules the Mets 1st pick will again be in the Comp A pick even if they finish under .500 this year.
  13. The NL East is starting to compete with the NL Central in being bad. The Braves are the only good team in that division everyone else are just a whole mess.
  14. Unlikely as Burnes has been trending downwards for about a year now. The only saving grace for the Brewers this deadline is that the best pitcher available right now is Eduardo Rodriguez. I don't believe the Angels will trade Ohtani. Bieber could also be available at the deadline who has also won a Cy Young.
  15. Couldn't you also just do a pitcher infuser? Would be cheaper as all you would have to do is buy some sugar and cut up the lemons and place in the infuser. If lemons get expensive switch to limes or other fruit that are less expensive.
  16. You missed one in CJ Kayfus but he is more likely to be a day 2 pick than a day 1 pick. Power wise is the question for Kayfus but he can absolutely hit. Kayfus is comparable to Votto where he will put up high average and high OBP but won't hit a ton of HR's. He does have advanced strike zone skills and won't chase all that much. He is currently sitting at a 1:1 BB:K. If you don't like strikeouts then Kayfus is someone you will like.
  17. Dalvin Cook to be traded today? https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10077499-dalvin-cook-rumors-teams-believe-vikings-will-trade-or-release-rb-amid-dolphins-buzz
  18. It is not just home runs but doubles are probably going to be rare also. Frelick is probably just a singles hitter. Kind of reminds me of a better version of Juan Pierre or Podsednik.
  19. Could get a competitive balance pick from the Rays, Mariners, Reds, Royals, Rockies, Guardians, Pirates, Orioles, A's, Marlins or D'backs. If the Brewers trade Burnes up to 2-hours before the draft. So it is possible the Rays could trade prospects plus their comp-a pick (~$6M) to the Brewers. I am just not sure the Rays would do that. A quick edit something like: Williams (SS/3B), Comp-A pick and Basabe (SS) would be at that $45m surplus value.
  20. Even if the Brewers are out of it I think they should trade Frelick. I just don't see Frelick being anything more than a .280/.370/.400 hitter in MLB. He just doesn't have the power to be anything more than that. If somehow the Brewers could trick the White Sox in giving up Robert for a Frelick plus deal I am agreeing before the White Sox can rethink the trade.
  21. The Brewers will have some leverage but not much. I think the most the Brewers get is $45m in excess value. Burnes right now is rated at about $50m in excess value so the Brewers will be selling at about a $5m loss. I think most trades are going to come in at the $40m mark. So at most expect 1 top 25-50 ranked player and a bunch of 15-20 organizational ranked players.
  22. Another trade but I think this would be a move the Rays wouldn't do but... Rays get: Burnes Brewers get: Caminero (3B) and Basabe (SS). Brewers get a very young 3B who will need to be added to the 40-man after this season and a really good SS in Basabe. Basabe is a better version of Turang. This would then allow the Brewers to trade Adames for pitching. Trade #2 Dodgers get: Adames Brewers get: Stone (RHP), Sheehan (RHP) and Munoz (1B). With the two trades this resets the Brewers for '24 by giving the Brewers some youth in the starting rotation and in the infield with Turang and Basabe.
  23. The Cardinals would have to pick up 2-3 starting pitchers that are better than what they have. Would adding two of Lynn, Giolito or Rodriguez be enough? Take into account the Cardinals don't get to beat up on the Pirates, Reds and Cubs all that much more. Right now the Cardinals have a bunch of #3-5 type pitchers in their rotation and most are pitching closer to #5 pitchers. Lynn is also not that great this year. Right now Montgomery and Mikolas are the best pitchers on the Cardinals staff and they are looking more like #4's than top of the rotation pieces. The Cardinals would need to add an ace and at least one #3 type pitcher to make their rotation better. Also take into consideration nearly all of their SP this year will be FA's next offseason. Other than Walker who the Cardinals are not trading their next best prospect is a starting pitcher. Actually 3 of their next 4 after Walker are pitchers. The Cardinals are going to need all of that pitching in the coming years unless they plan on paying FA rates for a starting pitcher or they need to subtract from their MLB team to do so. I don't see the Cardinals making a big splash for a trade. They will probably just add Lynn who looks to be on the decline also and somehow turn him around and have him pitch like he was a few years ago or something. But will that be enough for the rest of their punchless starting pitchers?
  24. I am not sure. Burnes hasn't been an ace type of a pitcher for about a year now. Right now he is looking more like a #2 or a #3 type pitcher. I think if the Brewers trade Burnes at the deadline they will be lucky to get over $45m+ in surplus value.
  25. If the Rangers continue to stay at the top in the AL West they could be looking for a starting pitcher to complete their rotation. I think the Rangers would be open to a Burnes trade here and they won't even have to trade their #1 prospect for Burnes. Rangers get: Burnes Brewers get: White, Leiter and Saggese. In this trade the Brewers receive a really good starter in White and a huge question mark in Leiter along with INF Saggese. I know everyone is going to question why is Leiter a huge question mark? Well take a look at his stats in AA they have been absolutely horrible. In AA in 133.2 IP Leiter is at a 5.12 ERA, 1.519 WHIP. 5.6 BB9, 8.1 H9 and 11.2 SO9. While the K's are good the hits and walks are absolutely horrible. I think Leiter drops out of the top 100 at least for MLB.com once that is updated again. Leiter just doesn't look good at all so why would the Brewers want him in a trade for Burnes? Because he has been so bad he is actually attainable in a trade for Burnes and I believe the Brewers would think they can fix him and get him closer to what he looked like when he was drafted 2nd overall.
