  1. Communication is a two way street. There was nothing stopping him going to his agent and asking for a contract extension. I don't think either side would have came to an agreement for a contract. Burnes' agent would have told him to wait for free agency and the Brewers would have only offered him a team friendly contract. Right now or even last year it just didn't make any sense for the Brewers to approach Burnes on a contract.
  2. I have a thread from earlier with my predictions: Though it looks like Black is out.
  3. Rowdy as a bat profiles a lot like Schwarber. I think Rowdy is at about his ceiling so for the next few seasons the Brewers have a 120 wRC+ player on their hands which I don't believe they will replace him until he hits free agency or if he has a poor year next year. I think you can pencil Tellez in for about a 120wRC+ in each of the next few years. His final year of arbitration will probably put him at about even in terms of $/results.
  4. Chryst as he has more of an impact on the game. Plus he has been failing for awhile now and has never been a good head coach.
  5. Offense once again is the problem. Play calling is still horrible. Offensively this team is an absolute mess. The offensive line can’t pass block. Holding penalties galore on pass and run plays. Bad coaching from top to bottom on the offensive. Defensively this team is not as talented as last years. How many games like this do we have to live through with PC before he is fired? He should of been fired after last season but nope Mertz and others were scapegoated for PC’s failures. He needs to go.
  6. No more excuses PC needs to be fired after this season.
  7. This offensive line is not good at all. So many holding penalties.
  8. Not in the top 25. Even if they win I think they drop. This is a barely top 25 team.
  9. This team is going to get absolutely destroyed by better competition.
  10. Back to the predictable play calling to start the half. I guess we have to wait for the 2-minute drill for the actual plays to be called.
  11. The offense looks better doing a 2-minute drill than any other time. Why are they not using more of these plays in the regular offense? Do they know they can run the ball without 2TE’s and a FB? Too many obvious running plays in the playbook. They need to start running with 3WR sets and other sets. It seems like PC won’t even do this. The offense is also better with more motion but when it is successful they will go away from it for 20+ plays until coming back to it for 1 play.
  12. Finally didn’t run the same play after the same play.
  13. That was a horrible play on 4th down. Let’s roll out to one side with only one option to throw to. PC is an absolute idiot when it comes to offensive plays.
  14. They look horrible and can’t pass block. This is going to be a long season if the offensive line doesn’t improve pass blocking.
  15. MLB shouldn't be deadening the baseball anymore than it has. If anything they should be making the ball bigger and heavier. I have pointed this out previously but a bigger and heavier ball should lead to less injuries to pitchers. This should also reduce the spin rate of the ball but will probably increase the velocity by about 1MPH. Less spin rate and less break on pitches should help the batter out. Also making the ball bigger should increase the number of balls in play. The pitch clock is a really good idea and should decrease the amount of time on average between pitches. In the minors where the pitch clock has been used the games are a lot faster. If MLB could make the ball bigger and heavier and add in the pitch clock I believe that would fix the majority of the issues MLB is having with less balls in play.
  16. I believe the Orioles and Rangers will come calling this off season for one of Burnes/Woodruff. Both the Orioles and Rangers have the prospects to deal for either pitcher. Woodruff will command less than Burnes currently so I believe Woodruff is more likely to be traded than Burnes. I don't see the Brewers doing a complete teardown so a rebuild is not a likely scenario. If the Brewers wanted to do a rebuild they do have the pieces to make that happen in Adames, Burnes, Williams and Woodruff being the ones who could bring back a lot of value for the Brewers. I think the Brewers will trade one of Burnes/Woodruff this offseason to bring in younger talent. I think the Brewers will try to do a soft reset with the prospects that they have coming up with Feliciano, Frelick, Mitchell, Wiemer, Turang and Ruiz. I wouldn't be surprised with an all rookie OF either with Yelich moving to the permanent DH spot. I think the Brewers move on from Hiura by trading him this offseason as well. I think a soft reset will be the plan and I kind of agree that it should be the plan for the Brewers.
  17. If the base runner is advancing towards the next base the pitcher can throw over and if the runner is out they are out no balk. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb-adding-new-rules-for-2023-including-pitch-clock-and-limits-on-the-infield-shift-164603647.html?guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAEO4Dq-QzfV_cDLef93ItELzh9BRPn6PACrqVmo58kPCY2ahNX0pOUz4PeGXAcw3PG6CkxmFyptGcFDxVAXutZurq8uVTAOsySoGg7b1AWTXRjT4h2IHPezY_Lawwve3ptBb0uvBKo4QFdZjjSS4DWnTcePuR_fMbMvJ7wFoxezc
  18. 4.5 inches officially shorter between the bases. It is not that big of a deal overall for the game. There maybe more extra base hits and steals but I think players are going to be more aggressive in taking them also. So there may be more plays at bases which brings in some more excitement to the game.
  19. The chip shortage is coming to an end by the end of the year is what they are saying. There should be new plants coming online in the next couple of years also. One day pant in Phoenix and I believe another in Texas. This should help supply a bit.
  20. I am not sure why anyone would complain about bigger bases it is a minor change to the game with some big benefits entertainment wise. I don’t like the banning of the shifts. I would like to see the ball changed. Make it slightly bigger and heavier. I believe this would help both pitchers and batters. More balls in play and less crazy break and spin rates. Though pitch velocity should increase which should help the pitchers with the loss in spin rate. It should also put less pressure on the elbow. The pitch clock is a must both hitters and pitchers can slow the game down to an absolute crawl. I hated watching Braun bat 3-minutes to get into the box. After the first pitch another minute to readjust everything from his cup to his batting gloves. 5-minutes later and something finally happens only for this routine to start up again. I would like to see the 3-batter rule removed for a reliever also. It hasn’t sped the game up at all it has actually gotten worse since this rule has been established.
  21. Yeah that was a nice commit for Marquette. Hopefully he lives up to the ranking as Marquette has recruited really well in the past but got nothing out of the players. It will definitely solve itself after this season as players are going to transfer out as that is a given. Even if all the players were happy there is just not enough playing time to play everyone. Some who have higher aspirations to play in the NBA are going to want to get as much playing time as possible. So some will transfer for playing time and others because they want to be closer to home or some other reason. I am not all that worried about a team having more players than spots on the roster as that works itself out the majority of the time.
  22. I wouldn't expect the Ukraine situation to end any time soon this could last for another year or more. Right now the war in Ukraine is a war of attrition without an end in sight at this time.
  23. Europe sounds a bit risky to me right now but energy would be a good guess there.
  24. What is weird is the Badgers have had success in the past recruiting and developing some good WR. Chris Chambers, Nick Toon, Jonathan Orr, Brandon Williams, Jared Abbrederis, Lee Evans and Quintez Cephus have all played for Wisconsin. Those may not be all pro players in the NFL but they were really good WR's in college. Currently they haven't been able to recruit nor develop the players. Some have developed better in the NFL and have shown more than what they showed at Wisconsin. Some of it is scheme related and some of it QB related and recently some of it can be blamed on the offensive line not allowing the QB enough time to read the field. The Badgers have been good at getting their TE's involved in the game and the offensive scheme seems to overly rely on the TE and when the defense takes the TE away the offensive completely collapses in the passing game. It is like the coaches don't trust the WR's or don't trust the QB. I think it is a little bit of both as evidence by the routes the Badgers run with their WR's and the lack of pre-snap movement.
  25. Washington State next week is going to be a good test for the defense. That team has some weapons on offense and should be a good test for the Badgers Defense.
