Since Adams is a non-exclusive franchise tag he will get $20.12m for next season if the Packers franchise tag him which doesn't mean he will be back with the Packers for 2022. So I don't believe tagging Adams is going to get it done and they will be forced to sign him to a long term contract if the plan is to keep Rodgers. With the non-exclusive franchise tag it means any team can negotiate with Adams for a contract and the Packers can offer a better contract. I believe this is the same thing the Packers did with Bahk a few years ago. If the Packers don't match I believe they receive two 1st round picks so a team would have to be willing to lose two first round picks to sign Adams. This can get really complicated for the Packers if they franchise Adams and they don't offer Adams a contract and instead just let him leave. If the Packers do this then the Packers are going to have a very angry Rodgers on their hands which he may just retire or force the Packers to trade him. The drama will be awesome! If the Packers intend to keep Rodgers they have to resign Adams which means MVS is more than likely gone along with a lot of the Packers defense. I still believe it just doesn't make any sense for the Packers future wise to keep both Rodgers and Adams and it is probably better to hit the reset button now and move on. Trade wise I think Denver makes the most sense as the Packers could restock rather quickly getting a couple of 1st round picks by trading Rodgers and Adams. Another possibility would be the Colts. Wentz, 2023 1st round pick, 2022 2nd round pick (47), 2022 3rd round pick (82), 2023 2nd round pick, 2024 1st round pick, 2025 1st round pick and 2024 4th round pick. The Packers could then cut, trade or keep Wentz. The Colts would receive both Rodgers and Adams.

I only use ZipRecruiter, Indeed and LinkedIn. Mostly it is Indeed and ZipRecruiter as they are far easier to search for things on those two sites. LinkedIn can be a pain to look for jobs and apparently Microsoft decided to turn it into another social media site instead of what it was. It is still good but I use Indeed and ZipRecruiter more. LinkedIn is still good for networking but I barely use it for finding a job. ZipRecruiter is nice because it has either an estimate of what the job will pay or the range from the company they are willing to pay. I prefer applying on Indeed as it is simple and fairly easy to apply to jobs there. ZipRecruiter can sometimes show you jobs that are available but will sometimes send you to Indeed, LinkedIn or some other random site to apply to the job which is very annoying.

Cap wise it also doesn't work for the Titans as Tannehill has a dead cap hit of $57,400,000. So the Titans can't release Tannehill and they wouldn't be able to trade him either. I don't think you can restructure and then trade either.

Not to go into the politics too much but you are half right with the President in the movie and completely wrong with the big tech donor. The President in the movie is actually a mixture of Trump and Hillary if you didn't notice there is a picture of Bill Clinton in one of the scenes with the President giving it a kiss I believe? The President's son is a caricature of Trump's children. The donor is actually a Bill Gates inspired donor. The movie was ok but I think they missed out on a lot of other caricatures they could have done and the satire they tried to do just didn't come off all that well. Majority of the satire in the movie just wasn't good at all and was borderline cringe to extreme cringe.

The NFCN is an absolute joke of a division. Even without Rodgers and Adams the Packers should still finish in first in the division with Jones at RB. The Bears defense is old though still very good but the offense is still yet to be determined and has been one the worst in the league for the past couple of years. The Vikings also have a good defense but getting old. The Vikings offense is better than the Bears but that is not saying much. The Lions are the Lions and I don't think they will break 5-wins next year. So you have three teams in the NFC North that look to be about 5-7 win teams.

How I think the conversation between PC and Williams went. Williams: Who will I throw to? PC: Don't worry about that we only run very basic routes and they won't be open anyways. Williams: What? PC: We run ball Williams: Thanks for inviting me

If the Packers insist on Surtain then that is all they are going to get and that is it.

When Does The Lockout End? Answer: March 10th, 2022
nate82 replied to jjgott's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
The large market teams would have a smaller chance at getting the #1-3 picks under the players proposal for a lottery. Either way if it is the players or the owners proposal there is going to be a lottery it looks like. Small market teams would be better off with the players proposal. -

Actually what the players union has put together would hurt the large market teams more if they go into tank mode. The smaller market teams won't be impacted by it as much and when they are actually winning may benefit from this in getting a higher pick than what their record is. For example if the Brewers finish 80-82 miss the playoffs but the Cubs go in full on tank mode and go 60-102 the Brewers could actually get a better pick than the Cubs in the draft. The Cubs would get knocked down in the ping pong ball lottery while the Brewers get more ping pong balls. The owners have rejected this and I don't see it being accepted here. The union basically wants the large markets to keep on spending and not go on these 3-5 year tanking seasons as these teams normally then don't spend on FA until they have the younger players close or on their roster. The owners have also proposed a minimum salary but that is all they gave the union. Nothing in the way of what happens if you are below the salary floor so the union rejected it. Haven't seen anything since Nov-Dec about this so I think it is dead at least during this CBA at least. -

"Buy Low" Free Agents...
nate82 replied to Harold Hutchison's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
Conforto may want more than the QO or more than he made last year but I doubt he tops the QO or even gets close to it. I don't think he will sign a long term deal and will instead sign a one year deal. Schwarber more than likely gets more than he made last year but again on a short term deal 3-4 years is my guess. Rosenthal coming off an injury would definitely get less and Martinez due to performance will also get less. Colome and Perez wouldn't be a waste as they would be back of the bullpen pieces. The Brewers have a few that they need to replace from last year and one of Colome or Perez would be good additions. Both shouldn't cost more than $5m and probably will sign for less. Perez had an off year last year with the Red Sox but put together a really nice 2020. I think he is better than what he was in 2020 and will improve in a bullpen role over a starting role. Having to throw only a couple of pitches instead of his whole arsenal should give him some improvements. Colome I think will bounce back and will be a good bullpen addition for anyone who signs him. Should be a one year deal around $3-5m. -

I don't believe the Brewers are going to play much in FA and none of the players suggested so far look to be a target the Brewers would go after. If the Brewers trade Lauer or Houser they would more than likely just go with Anderson again than go with Greinke or Davies. The Brewers have a better chance of convincing Yount to come out of retirement and play for them than they do with signing Zimmerman. I think Conforto makes the most sense for the Brewers. Put him in LF and have Yelich DH for the majority of the games. I don't believe Conforto will cost all that much and he should be available when the Brewers start to sign FA which is going to be after Burnes, Woodruff and Hader have their arbitration settled. Some relievers to keep in mind to fill out the bullpen: Rosenthal, Colome, Carlos Martinez, Martin Perez or Marshall. I believe the Brewers will go with 1 or 2 relievers in FA and then one bat. Depending on how much Burnes, Woodruff and Hader cost in arbitration there maybe enough to sign someone like Schwarber or Conforto. -
I think Bonds and Clemens will be voted in when the committee meets in December. If Selig is in who resided as commissioner when the steroid era was happening then Bonds and Clemens need to be in no questions asked. I believe this is how Bonds and Clemens will get in. Heck even LaRussa is in the Hall of Fame and he was the manager of the roid team and then had McGwire again on his team and he openly had the stuff sitting out in his locker right in front of everyone including LaRussa. I don't care what LaRussa says or has said on this he knew about it and didn't care. If Selig and LaRussa are good enough to be in the Hall of Fame then so are Bonds and Clemens. Greg Maddux is on the committee and I believe he has advocated for Bonds to be in the Hall of Fame so there is at least 1 vote and I think they only need 15 out of 17 to get in. LaRussa is also on the committee and I think he will vote for both also. Should be really interesting come December but I expect at least Bonds to be named into the Hall of Fame and possibly Clemens.

Big Ten may eliminate the divisions and go with a #1 vs #2 for conference championship. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-ten-considering-the-elimination-of-divisions-amid-college-football-playoff-expansion-talks/ This would basically mean Ohio State will get a near guaranteed championship game. This is going to hurt the Badgers chances of making the playoffs even with expansion.

I think the Panthers are the only team cap wise that could possibly get Rodgers or Wilson. If Brady retires then his dead becomes his cap number which is currently more than what his cap number is for the Buccs. The NFC South may completely suck for a year or two until the cap problems go away for those teams. The Saints are sitting at a -71m cap right now and that won't improve until 2023. But I think they will restructure some contracts to be able to get under the cap for 2022 but I don't think they have enough to get either Rodgers or Wilson.

A lot of progress was made today. According to the Athletic: MLBPA drops age-based free-agency proposal as negotiations on new labor deal continue. Unknown what the owners gave up will have to wait until tomorrow I believe. -

Right now the Packers are about $40M over the 2022 cap. Trading Rodgers pre-6/1 will result in $19.6M in 2022 cap savings. Here's the max they could save with each player: Z. Smith - $15.3M P. Smith - $13.7M R. Cobb - $8.1M (post-6/1 release) A. Amos - $7.9M Lowry - $5.8M (post-6/1 release or trade) B. Turner - $5.8M (post-6/1 release or trade) K. King - $3M (post-6/1 release) M. Crosby - $3.1M (post-6/1 release) The total cap savings of those players is $62.7M ($82.3M including Rodgers), so they can cut Bakh but I don't see the point. Why "sell low" on Bakh? Love is going to need a good LT, and Bakh isn't going to have a significant impact, if any impact, on how many games they win. And as I said earlier, if the Packers suck and they don't have Rodgers, what FA is going to want to come here? They can also extend Amos and Alexander and lower their $12M and $13.3M cap numbers significantly, so they could create space by extending those two along with P. Smith and possibly be able to get Rodgers and Adams back for one more run. Yeah I don't see why the Packers would cut Bakh it just doesn't make any sense the dead cap is more than his current cap. The Packers will need to clear enough cap room to fit some free agents in along with being able to sign their draft picks. The Packers still need to make cuts or restructures its just that cutting Bakh doesn't make any sense for the Packers but if you want to do it you would have to do a lot of cap gymnastics to get it done. Also having a poor offensive line with any QB is a recipe for disaster for that QB's development. You could possibly lose one or more years of development from a QB with a poor offensive line either from injury or that QB picking up bad habits because of the poor offensive line play.

Ranking the playoff games by excitement level so far. 1. Bills vs Chiefs 2. Rams vs Buccs 3. Bengals vs Titans Worst game by far was 49ers vs Packers an absolute snooze fest.

As a non Packers fan the Packers do have some options if they are going to be trading Rodgers. The best fit picks wise would be the Giants but they don't really have the cap room to add Rodgers. I think that eliminates the Giants as a possibility so that crosses off their two first round picks in the upcoming draft. The next best options are the Steelers, Dolphins, Raiders, Colts, Broncos and Texans. Rodgers is going to want to play for a team that will be competing right away so I think you can eliminate the Texans from this list and probably the Dolphins also as I am not sure that Rodgers would accept a trade to the Dolphins. That leaves the Steelers, Raiders, Broncos and Colts for Rodgers to pick from and yes Rodgers holds all the cards here as he can just say screw you Packers and just sit or play the next season out if he wanted to. The Packers would basically lose Adams for nothing in this scenario as they wouldn't be able to resign or franchise him. So Rodgers holds all the cards and will be able to dictate where he is traded within reason. Cap wise if Rodgers wants to bring Adams with him or if Adams wants to follow Rodgers the Broncos and Colts make the most sense here. From the group I mentioned the team with the most cap room are the Broncos (~$45m) and Colts (~$43m). The Broncos are the team that makes the most sense here for a trade for Rodgers. I think the Packers will get one first round pick for Rodgers and a bunch of other picks, I just don't see multiple first round picks coming back to the Packers but maybe Denver is desperate and they throw multiple first's for Rodgers. As for the trade I think the Broncos stay calm and offer the Packers their 2022 1st round pick (9), 2022 3rd round pick (75), 2022 3rd round pick (91), 2023 2nd round pick and 2023 3rd round pick. I believe this would be the Packers best offer that they will receive for Rodgers and they will either have to accept something like this or restructure Rodgers contract so they are able to franchise Adams but that is a lot of cap gymnastics that will have to happen. The amount of restructuring and releasing of players will absolutely gut the Packers defense which means that is where they will have to focus on in the draft if they decide to keep Rodgers and Adams. From the outside looking in the best move for the Packers would be for Rodgers to retire or to trade Rodgers. I just don't see a scenario where it makes sense for the Packers to keep Rodgers. Packers best outcome would be the Broncos getting desperate and wanting that QB and offering multiple 1st round picks to the Packers and maybe they do that but I think what I put down for a trade will be closer to what will happen than multiple 1st round picks. I don't believe the Packers will get more than 2 1st round picks for Rodgers, they may get an additional 1st round pick and others for Adams but I am not sure on that either. Assuming the Packers trade Rodgers they have more control over where Adams goes than where Rodgers goes. Even with a Rodgers trade and no Adams I think the Packers still have to make some cuts to get under the salary cap which means Z.Smith, P.Smith and Amos are more than likely gone if you also want to cut Bakhtiari. This would put the Packers at about 0 cap space so that means no franchise for Adams as his cap hit should come around $18m. If you really wanted Bakhtiari released then Turner, Cobb and Lowry would all need to be released. That would then get you to be able to franchise Adams and then trade him to another team. The Packers would look more like the Lions and the rebuild wouldn't just be 1 or 2 years you are looking at a 3 year rebuild at a minimum. If the Packers are extremely lucky and draft well then yeah that is a 2 year rebuild. I think some of these players are going to be cut anyways (Cobb, P.Smith, Z.Smith, Clark and Amos) as it makes more sense to release them and take the dead cap hit than it is to keep them and take the cap hit. If you are doing that and keeping Rodgers I don't think it makes any sense at all as the team overall is going to be worse with the departure of those players. Cobb, P.Smith, Z.Smith, Clark and Amos would free up about $40m in cap space for the Packers. There could also be some restructures but if you are trading Rodgers it is probably just best to reset and try and get under the cap now and not have to worry about future years cap issues with the restructures as Gary looks like he is going to be expensive to keep and obviously Alexander will need an extension also. Maybe I am wrong but looking from the outside it looks like the Packers should be retooling and moving on from Rodgers kind of like what the Patriots and Colts did with Brady and Manning.
