  1. Yes we know about the DH and other rules that came out last week. Where have you been under a rock with no internet or cell phone reception? The Brewers also commented about a TV deal in one of the mailbags, I believe I linked to it in this thread awhile back. Any news won't be brought up until a deal is signed.
  2. Can he play 1B?
  3. I can't find where I saw this rumor but apparently the Panthers are willing to trade McCaffrey and Bridgewater plus 3 1sts for Watson. That is a very steep price and if true I don't see how anyone could top that.
  4. Shazam was surprisingly really good. Hollywood is devoid of new ideas and is just mostly cookie cutter movies or remakes. I would love to see a Metal Gear Solid movie but the creator of the game has said no on this. Would be an interesting sci-fi action movie kind of a Rambo meets Bond with robots and over the top villains.
  5. ESPN has become useless and they barely just report on sports. It is mostly just talking heads trying to say something controversial so they can get some clicks on their website or views on their channel(s). Their MLB coverage used to be good but it is now garbage same with their NBA and NHL coverage and their NFL coverage is just oversaturated garbage. I can't really tell you the last time I watched something on ESPN that wasn't an NBA game or a MLB game I think it has been about 5 or so years since I watched something on ESPN.
  6. Yes, there are a lot of commercial parts that can be used by using block chain. I believe there is a lot of banking products being developed using the block chain which should make financials more secure.
  7. For the 2021 season the figure that I am seeing thrown around the most for a salary cap is something like $185m. Some are thinking as high as $195m but I don't think that is reasonable and that is just agents and players trying to push it to that mark but I don't believe it will get that high as I believe the owners are going to want to know how many fans they can expect in 2021. If it looks like it is going to be at an extreme reduced capacity I think $185m is the safest bet maybe lower but it won't be $175m nor will it be $195m. I think $185m is the break even point that the teams will agree on and the players will have to settle with. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of free agents this year sign 1-year deals and try to cash in on the possible increased salary cap in 2022 though that may not be as big of an increase if the owners are not able to sell tickets or can only fill the stadium at 10% of capacity. I think the 2022 salary cap with a 10% capacity in stadiums will only result in another small increase to the cap to say about $205m and that maybe on the high side.
  8. I think just going the streaming route on YouTube would be a better idea. You could stream a show before the game, then the game and then an after the game show. YouTube takes about 55% of the ad revenue from its streamers which means the Brewers would have more revenue than what Sinclair could offer them. The only thing Sinclair could offer the Brewers is guaranteed money. If the Brewers would just do a streaming you wouldn't even have to pay for anything it would be free and it would just be on YouTube for anyone to watch at anytime. If you wanted to watch a repeat of the game that would still count as viewers for the team and thus increasing their revenue. To me doing the broadcast on a streaming service like YouTube just makes more sense as long as MLB would allow it. The capital needed for doing this would also be a lot smaller than setting up a TV studio. If the Brewers wanted to set something up where you could do a subscription lets say for $5 a month and you get exclusive content like interviews with players, coaches and staff then that would increase the teams revenue even more. MLB probably wouldn't allow this otherwise I think a team like the Yankees or the Dodgers would have already done this as it makes more financial sense to do it this way than to continue operating in the cable TV environment.
  9. I will second this and the Brewers really don't need a huge production set up either. Just look at the live streaming that is being done on Twitch, Facebook and YouTube. None of these live streamers are using anything that would be considered high tech or overly expensive. The Brewers need to look into just biting the financial bullet and creating their own network either to be on YouTube, Amazon, Hulu or any other streaming service. This would create more future revenue and you are not alienating your fans with someone like Sinclair who will more than likely start to shake down the cable companies next. I believe the cable companies will just drop them if that happens as the cost of dropping them isn't all that much and the cable companies are already on a slim budget with people leaving for streaming services especially people under the age of 30. The biggest demographic that still uses cable are now getting older and are dyeing off and the newest group that has a rather large economic buying power are not buying cable and are instead skipping it. For the Brewers to be competitive in the future they need to make this leap and make it soon. It may hurt some of the fans now but in the future this is going to pay off more for the Brewers and set them up financially in a better position. Signing a long term contract with Sinclair is not going to give the Brewers a long term financial benefit at best the revenue will probably increase by about $10-15m more a season but that is still pennies on the dollar compared to the large market teams. The future really is the streaming services like YouTube, Amazon and Hulu if the Brewers don't do something to get on this train they are just going to be stuck where they are now with no improvement on their position.
  10. Expired as of the end of last season.
  11. Trade our comp pick for him. Why would the Dodgers give up a major league player for a Competitive Balance Draft Pick? They’re system is already the best in the game and they’re built to win now. Because the Dodgers are not just building for now but also down the line. Friedman has said this a lot when they are making acquisitions. They are not just looking at this year but also 5, 10, 15 years down the road.
  12. I wonder if the Dodgers would do this: Brewers receive: Rios, C.Santana, Price and $10m Dodgers get: Quero and the Brewers 2021 competitive balance pick. Rios gives the Brewers a good 1B/3B now and Cristian Santana in 2019 did this in AA as a 22 year old .301/.320/.436. If it takes taking on Price's salary to get Rios and Santana sign me up because I think Santana could be a very special player at 3B for years to come.
  13. So, are these jobs in Milwaukee, or just Chicago/Boston/SF? Most are remote so they can be anywhere. I know in the past I have seen plenty in the state of Wisconsin. For example these jobs.
  14. I have a feeling that Robertson is going to have a 2017 Jesus Aguilar type of a year.
  15. There are so many things that could go wrong where the Dodgers only win about 100 games. There could be multiple injuries or someone has a down year that doesn't get them to the 116 wins or even 122 not to mention any kind of random event like going below .500 against the Giants or going below .500 against the NL central that could shift it to 108 wins or less. The Dodgers could also be below 100 wins though I find that highly unlikely but weirder things have happened.
  16. I think White would be more like Akiem Hicks in how he would be played. Not comparing Hicks to White just comparing how Hicks is used now is how White would be used now. Hicks has played both as a edge rusher and a DT in the Bears 3-4 system.
  17. The time has passed for that to be a possibility and the large market teams are not going to allow this to happen along with the players union. The best chance for a salary cap to have been implemented in baseball was during the 94-95 strike and the large market teams basically said screw it and threw in the towel and I doubt they were ever seriously behind a salary cap that they supported in 94. The only way for a salary cap now to happen is if the economics of baseball shifts and both the small and large market teams are no longer able to support the salaries of the players. This maybe coming as I don't think the TV deals once they expire for some of these large market teams are going to be as big as they have been in the past. I just don't see a salary cap happening in MLB unless there is a major financial collapse for the large market teams. The small and mid market teams are basically fighting both the large market teams and the players union and they just don't have the leverage to get a salary cap implemented. As much as I wanted Turner that is just a little bit too much to be giving someone at that age. I would rather have a combination of Odorizzi and Lamb/Gyorko/Shaw than Turner. If the Brewers could have gotten turner at 3/$45 then I think that would have been fine but anything more than that and that is just above the risk level that the Brewers could take on.
  18. IT jobs are such a wide spectrum now and some of them you don't need any work experience to get. For example there are some UX/UI jobs that say you need x amount of years of experience but most that I know who go into these jobs don't have any experience other than they took a coding camp course and were hired instantly after. If you are unemployed you may want to see if the unemployment office will pay for a coding boot camp or at least partially pay for it. I would suggest doing something that won't require a lot of years of experience to fulfill and usually a UX designer doesn't need many years of experience usually one year of general experience or a BS degree. If you can't get a coding boot camp paid for you should try and apply to Business Analyst roles which are basically mini project managers. Those jobs are mostly just requirement gathering, documentation, and other various things that a project manager usually do but are now passed onto the Business Analyst. Requirement gathering is basically just people skills if you have people skills and can take notes during a meeting you basically have requirement gathering skills. Documentation is basically can you write out steps and procedures on how something is ran and translate the tech speak into plain English everything else is just filler in the position which just about anyone can do given enough time to learn.
  19. Season one and two were done by Syfy season 3-5 is done by Amazon. Season 3 and 5 are my favorite seasons I didn't like season 4 as much as the others and season 2 can drag a bit here and there.
  20. It is probably unlikely that Shaw is back in Milwaukee but there are no hard feelings according to Travis.
  21. That is a laughable trade offer for TJ. You have to get closer to what Mack cost for the Steelers to do that trade.
  22. Depends on what you are looking for and where. Lots of IT jobs have opened up lately.
  23. I think the Pirates will pick him up. It makes sense for them to do so a somewhat young pitcher and they have a rotation spot to give him also.
  24. It is a tongue in cheek type of a response to Friedman's quote.
  25. So far it only cost Franchy Cordero to get Benintendi. That would be like the Brewers giving up Ray for him maybe even less than Ray?
