  1. Giannis isn't handling the ball as much as he used to previously. I believe that is the main change also when you look at all of the assists that the Bucks are putting up you can see the ball is moving more and it isn't just Giannis bully ball anymore.
  2. It looks like Bud has changed the offense a bit and Giannis is struggling a little bit with the changes. He hasn't been Giannis yet though he is still playing at an elite level. Middleton is thriving and Portis also. Jrue looks as though he is struggling a bit at times also. I think once Giannis and Jrue start to settle in this team is going to take off offensively.
  3. But LaRussa didn't cheat like those guys. All he did was turn a blind eye or foster a culture of cheating. Which is worse than cheating. It is far worse to turn a blind eye to a cheater than it is to actually cheat.
  4. I never put anything in a 401k that is pre tax to me it is just a dumb idea to pay the taxes later when you will be on a limited budget. Disagree - take the tax break now when I'm at peak earning years when the tax break will be greater. Plus, if you have an employer that has a decent match (back in the 2000's I worked for a company that matched dollar for dollar up to 10%), it's free money. A tax break of the 401K limit of $19,500 means a lot now, plus my company matched another over $5000 last year. Also, greater accumulation of wealth and compounding of interest now means being on less of a budget later. A ROTH 401k is basically what I am talking about so I am not losing money and fairly certain I will be in a different higher tax bracket when I retire well sort of. To expand on this I have an annuity that I set up about 10 years ago that should pay out between $3000-3500 a month plus my ROTH 401k plus a part time job will put me in a higher tax bracket.
  5. If you are going to hold out on Bonds and Clemens why would you vote for La Russa who knew McGwire and Canseco were using steroids and benefited from it? The BBWAA is just insane on their reasoning if you wanted to hold them out after the first couple of years fine but this is just getting stupid now.
  6. Not really new news there were already independent studies that showed this to be true for some time now. I believe I posted an article about this previously in this thread. You posted a link to this study (published yesterday), specifically about the spread of CV in schools in Wood Country, WI in this thread? I was speaking in general not just WI that schools should be opened and the research was already available for this so nothing new.

  8. Pre tax is the key word here. 401k's are not just pre tax accounts you can have a ROTH 401k that is all post tax. I don't really plan on retiring ever really I will still be working until I die or at least that is the plan. When I retire I will still be working so my income will be actually higher than what I am bringing in now. To me ROTH's are just a better option compared to your traditional 401k's. I have done enough research in this area for taxes that it doesn't really make much sense for what I want to do to put use a pre tax 401k selection post tax makes the most sense for me. I still get my companies match so not losing money at all.
  9. There is one warm blooded lizard the tegu.
  10. It is all ROTH 401k which is all after tax so taxes when I take it out when I retire will be at a minimum so the match is still there.
  11. I never put anything in a 401k that is pre tax to me it is just a dumb idea to pay the taxes later when you will be on a limited budget.

    Pizza

That settles it never going to have Detroit style. The hot lunch pizza in grade school tasted like they used cardboard for crust and ketchup for sauce and the cheese was whatever they could scrape off the grill. Hopefully there wasn't any sausage on the pizza because if you were unlucky enough to get the sausage one it was basically some kind of mystery meat that no one knows where it came from.
  13. I found this interesting on The Athletic. https://theathletic.com/2343230/2021/01/26/mlb-agent-survey-part-1/ Apparently the teams that agents and players don't like the most are the Pirates and the Orioles and the city that is favored the least is Detroit. Not surprised by Detroit being the least favorite city for anyone to go to. Some other obvious things are that the players dislike the facilities that the Rays and A's have which is something they have in common with MLB. As for if there would be a work stoppage after 2021 8 said yes and 14 said no. I agree with the responses for the no as I believe both sides would see a work stoppage as career and earnings suicide. Any work stoppage for baseball will be the death kneel for the sport at least economically which is already hurting financially. The only other sport that is hurting as much as MLB is the NHL both the NBA and the NFL are fine due to their tv contracts that they have. The other leagues maybe losing money but they are not losing as much as MLB and the NHL are both of which depend heavily on ticket purchases versus leaning heavily on TV revenue.
  14. If it is in Canadian it would be about $14m US$.
  15. They are not rumors the Brewers truly did meet with Semien and have met with Turner and a few other free agents.
  16. sigh Bonds and Clemens should be in and you can make a strong case for Wagner also.
  17. You could always put a sell stop order in. For example if you bought stock A at $50 and then it runs up to $75 a share you could put a sell stop order in at $75 and if the stock keeps on going up it won't trigger but once it gets within a few fractions of $75 it will trigger that sale thus locking in your $25 per share gain.
  18. I doubt Arcia stays as the Brewers starting SS for 2021 with or without Semien on the team. If 2019 Arcia shows up again Semien could easily slip over from 3B to SS if needed this would be an insurance type of a deal if Arcia falters offensively again. If you sign someone like Gyorko you could have 3B covered and would just need to platoon him a bit.
  19. This is incorrect. MLB players and AAA players will be reporting around the same time with AA and A players reporting afterwards. A and AA will stay behind and will start their season later. MLB and AAA teams are scheduled to leave first from spring training. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/start-of-minor-league-season-at-double-a-and-class-a-to-be-delayed/
  20. The rotation is fine with Woodruff and Burnes at the top maybe the Brewers need a #3 but if they do nothing with the rotation they should be fine. At 1B or 3B is probably the biggest question marks and other than Turner at 3B there isn't much out there worth spending a lot on.
  21. In Stafford's case the Lions are also thinking in the same way that Stafford is. It looks like Stafford went to the Lions and requested to be traded and they said wait until they had the management in place. I don't see Stafford forcing a trade here and it looks more like both are in agreement that they want to work out a trade. Stafford could have said screw you to the Lions and made a bunch of noise in the media stating he wants to be traded but he kept quiet and waited for the new management to come in. It looks like Detroit had very little interest in keeping Stafford and they believe the best move is to move him and it is not because he requested to be traded.
  22. Not really and it may just be that the Braves don't believe there will be a DH in 2021 and they are set in the OF as they have two cheaper options in Pache and Waters. The Braves could also go out and sign Joc Pederson who could play both in the OF and DH and that wouldn't cost them defensively when he plays in the OF compared to Ozuna and he should also cost less than what it would take to sign Ozuna.
  23. I don't think the Blue Jays make this trade. If they are going to make a trade for someone like Burnes it will be for all prospects versus someone already on their roster. Maybe the Blue Jays do a trade that the Brewers did for Greinke but I think they would be looking at receiving a replacement for who they are losing especially since they are losing two players on their MLB roster. I think something like SS Groshans, RHP Woods Richardson, 3B Hiraldo and 3B Smith would be something the Blue Jays would accept. I don't believe they would include Biggio at all in a deal for Burnes and would instead build it around prospects.
  24. So I think this might be a good idea for both the Brewers and the Dbacks. Dbacks get: C Payton Henry and OF Carlos Rodriguez Brewers get: 1B Pavin Smith For a FA signing I am going to go with LaStella at 3B at 3-years $24m with a team option for the 3rd year and a player option for the 2nd year. The contract is fully backloaded $6m in 2021 $8m in 2022 and $10m with a $6m buyout in 2023. Other free agents Quintana 1-year $8m and Jeffress 1-year $2m. That puts the total of free agency at $16m for those three which is what I think the Brewers have left to spend for the offseason and in season trades. Going the cheap route it would just be the Pavin Smith trade and Quintana signing if you want to go that way. If there is no DH I expect Vogelbach to be released.
  25. Kidd was a bad coach but he did have Giannis doing the back to the basket more. I believe Kidd even had Kevin Garnett come in and help Giannis and others with this.
