  1. I wouldn't go over there and say you didn't call the cops. The optics of it is going to make it seem like you actually did call the cops. I would just bring up the cops thing casually and then ask them to try and keep the noise down in the future possibly setting up some guidelines that would be agreeable by both parties.
  2. Lamb has been horrible for the past two years. I am not sure why he would be in any kind of discussion unless it is for AAA filler. I would rather see Sogard play everyday at 3B than have Lamb play for a single game. Throwing out 2020 even though it is another bad year for Lamb he has had a wRC+ of 79 and 80. He also strikes out at about 25% of the time if you want to add more strike outs to this team then go ahead and get Lamb. La Stella is probably the perfect fit for the Brewers at 3B and he shouldn't cost more than $12m a season. I think that would be his maximum that he could get in normal free agency. In this upcoming off season if the teams are only able to do 20-30% of capacity I believe the free agent dollars won't be there and he maxes out at $10m a season. If the teams are able to get 50% or more then I think we will see free agency as normal and he may get more than $12m a season but I think that is a stretch unless a team gets desperate. I believe the Brewers have about $30-35m to spend this off season and that depends on if they trade Hader or not. Hader's arbitration is going to impact how much the Brewers are going to spend in free agency. Ultimately I think Hader gets traded and if everything works out it will be for pieces that will help the team now but if the best offer are pieces that will help further down the line I think Stearns will go with the better offer. If the Brewers don't trade Hader I think they will be looking at Profar, La Stella, Semien or Hernandez as possible additions with Turner, Gregorious, Brantley or Grossman as outside chances. I think Brantley will sign for a 2-3 year deal but will be looking at $15m per year at a minimum while Gregorious will be looking for a multi year deal something around 4-6 years at about $16-17m a season. Turner and Grossman are a little bit harder to predict on what they could get with Turner being older and Grossman in a market that is saturated with good OF's. I don't see Brantley as an everyday OF more of a DH at this point in his career kind of reminds me of Molitor. Pitching wise I think there are some deals out there that the Brewers could get in Tanaka, Chatwood or Ray. Tanaka is coming off a good but not great year with the Yankees and will be looking at a 3-4 year deal. I think the Yankees will resign him or he will go to the Angels but he could be had for about $7-9m a season though I could see the Yankees and Angels upping that amount to where it wouldn't be worth going after Tanaka. Chatwood had an up and down year kind of like his whole career and I think he tops out at $10m a season for 3-5 years though I am not sure I would sign him for that amount. Ray is an interesting problem here he was looking like one of the top pitchers to be entering free agency a couple of years ago. I think 2020 is not who Ray is but I don't think he is a sub 3 ERA pitcher either. He is somewhere in the middle of his 2018 and 2019 season and his 2020 season looks a little similar to Burnes' 2019 season. I would be surprised if next year given a full season that Ray is a 3.5 ERA pitcher which puts him as a solid #2 or #3 type pitcher. How much has his 2020 season cost him in free agency I am not sure but I think he is someone that the Brewers could pick up. Maybe he goes for a 1-year deal at $10m or he goes with a player option laden deal where he can opt out after his first year to get more in the following years free agency. I think the Brewers have enough to get someone like Ray and one of Profar/La Stella/Semien/Hernandez if the Brewers keep Hader. If the Brewers trade Hader and assuming the deal will be more prospect driven I think the Brewers could go with Ray, Profar/La Stella/Semien/Hernandez and one of Brantley or Turner. If the Brewers sign Turner I think they would go with Profar as he can play more positions and if they go Brantley they would go with La Stella. Semien to me is the most interesting player in free agency as I think he could be a diamond and might be someone who flourishes in Milwaukee where he will hit for more power the same can be said for Profar.
  3. This has been bugging me but exit velocity has always been a thing. We are just now in an era where it can be measured quantified and evaluated. The information is now available to us it is not something new. I think someone in this thread said that they would take the softer exit velocity Gwynn which makes no sense at all. Gwynn hit a lot of doubles and a few HR's each year. He wasn't getting those doubles and HR's off of softly hit balls or a lower exit velocity than we are seeing today. Exit velocity tells us how hard the ball is being hit which is a good thing. You don't want a low exit velocity as those are mostly going to be weak pop ups and weakly hit ground balls for outs the majority of the time. Gwynn squared up on the ball a lot which yes you guessed it created high exit velocities. Going back to when I was younger and watching players like Thomas, Griffey, Molitor, Yount and others they all hit the ball rather hard and had great exit velocities on their extra base hits and even on the singles you could hear and see the ball exiting off the bat that the ball was hit really hard. Exit velocity is definitely something that the players knew about back then they just called it something different. Usually you would hear the words they squared up on the baseball or they put good wood on the ball or that they hit the ball hard. That is all exactly the same as exit velocity which is basically just measuring what the players are saying is happening. You want players who have a high exit velocity otherwise you are only going to get Juan Pierre's or Jim Gantner's of the world.
  4. I haven't played DCS in a long time but my favorite was Black Shark. I really hate that helicopter well flying it can be a love hate relationship but it does look cool.
  5. My off season plan all free agent signings are at the maximum that I think they can get(years and $$$$): Trades: Hader to the Padres for Meyers, Abrams and Patino Arcia and international signing bonus $$$ to the Angels for Kevin Maitan and Jose Bonilla Free Agent signings: Profar 3-years $27m La Stella 4-years $48m Tanaka 1-year $12m Justin Wilson 1-year $2m Marwin Gonzalez 2-years $9m Options declined: Braun, Sogard and Gamel Roster: C: Narvaez, Nottingham/Pina 1B: Meyers, Gyorko 2B: Profar, Hiura, Gonzalez SS: Urias, Gonzalez 3B: La Stella, Gyorko, Gonzalez LF: Yelich CF: Cain RF: Garcia DH: Hiura, Meyers, Gyorko OF: Taylor, Meyers SP: Woodruff, Burnes, Tanaka, Lindblom, Hauser/Small/Lauer/etc... RP: Suter, Knebel, Yardley, D. Williams, Wilson, Rasmussen, Topa, Peralta Probably missing someone or something somewhere or my count for my active roster probably has more than what is possible.
  6. Bunting is still a bad idea. There is a time and a place for bunting but those times are so rare. Basically bunting to get a runner over to third in the bottom of the ninth where one run wins you the game sure bunt. During the early innings? No that is just dumb you are trading away an out for a low chance of scoring the one run. You only have 27 outs to play with and sacrificing one to just maybe get one run seems foolish at best.
  7. I believe Stroman and Bauer will sign with the Red Sox this off season.
  8. Yelich has sucked all year and especially against RHP. It is like he is just not seeing the ball coming out of the hand of RHP at all and is just guessing where the pitches are going.
  9. The Reds even though they added a lot in the off season their offense is not all that different than the Brewers.
  10. Ouch swept out of the postseason again! The Twins are just a joke when it comes playoff time.
  11. The Titans and Steelers game is officially postponed. Maybe played on Monday or Tuesday. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/steelers-titans-matchup-postponed-nfl-announces-to-be-played-on-either-monday-or-tuesday/
  12. At least it is not the Yankees, progress? It still falls under the umbrella of 'teams everyone hates'. Well I believe this is the Twins first loss in the playoffs to a team not named the Yankees in a long time. I think you have to go back to the world series for the last time the Twins lost to a team other than the Yankees. EDIT: I had to look it up and was almost close the Twins have lost to the Yankees in every year they have made the playoffs except for 2006 against the A's and in 2002 against the Angels and A's. If you go all the way back to 2002 which was the first time the Twins made the playoffs since winning the World Series they had losses to either the Yankees, A's or the Angels. The Yankees account for 16 losses of the 25 losses the Twins have had in the playoffs since 2002. The Twins are a staggering 2-16 against the Yankees in that time span they haven't won more than 1 game against the Yankees in the playoffs from 2002-2019. That is just crazy.
  13. At least it is not the Yankees, progress?
  14. Wow, not a big fan of the NL Central's chances, huh? Actually, I kinda agree. All four teams kinda suck. The Cubs in particular looked terrible to end the year. The NL Central was just brutal not a single team in the NL Central had a WRC+ that was average or above average. The highest was 93 by the Cardinals which is 7 points below average. I think OPS+ showed the same also. Basically nearly every advanced metrics for offense showed that the NL Central sucked. Actually all of the Central teams but the White Sox and the Twins sucked offensively.
  15. The Titans are shutdown until Saturday which puts the Sunday game against the Steelers as doubtful. This could be the first canceled game.
  16. My predictions: AL Rays beat the Bluejays Indians beat the Yankees Twins beat the Astros White Sox beat the A's NL Dodgers beat the Brewers Padres beat the Cardinals Marlins beat the Cubs Braves beat the Reds
  17. For the vehicles that can park themselves and go in reverse on their own who is responsible if it hits something. Would insurance even cover that since technically it is not you driving. I guess it would be the same as if your brakes gave out and your car goes down a hill and hits another car.
  18. And the Brewers are in on a horrible strike 3 call.............
  19. OMG listening to the Padres game and wow their radio announcer is just cringe.......................
  20. They led 26-10 going into the 4th quarter. Right now, Dan Quinn should be about as nervous as the 55 year old guy in your office who refuses to learn PowerPoint or use an Outlook calendar. I can see Outlook calendar but PowerPoint needs to die in a fire and then be revived and thrown back into the fire and then revived again and then thrown into a volcano and then 10 nuclear bombs dropped on it just to make sure it is finally dead.
  21. If it is a high profile player they are definitely covering it up and probably going to postpone the game especially if it is the Super Bowl.
  22. I don't think the team takes into account the buyouts as part of the years payroll maybe they do but I wouldn't as those are already sunk costs. Gyorko is already at a reduced cost you are not going to get much for what the Brewers are paying Gyorko right now. I think the Brewers will offer on Knebel even if it is to just trade him for something though they may not get enough for him. He still maybe cheaper than a free agent RP. Arcia I believe is gone unless they work out a deal. Claudio might be back but I doubt it.
  23. The current strategy has brought us Hiura, Woodruff and Burnes. The Rays, Blue Jays and the Dodgers have been doing this for years and it seems to have been working out well for them. Drafting based on the position that they play is just a bad idea it is a bad idea in the NFL and it is a bad idea in MLB. Always draft based on the players talents and not based on what your team needs especially in the early rounds. If you want to go position shopping do it in the later rounds.
  24. A majority of those plans were players that shouldn't have been signed at all. Cole and Rendon being the exceptions but Cole wasn't going to be signing with anyone but the Yankees and Rendon was going to sign with whoever put up the most money and years. Neither were an option for the Brewers the other options were Bumgarner, Moustakas, Grandal, Wheeler and Castellanos. Bumgarner would have been an awful contract for the Brewers and would set the franchise back by 5-10 years. The Moustakas deal would not have been worth it he is already declining rather rapidly. Grandal I would have been OK with but I like Narvaez in the long run over Grandal. Wheeler would have been an OK signing also but he does have some serious injury concerns. Finally Castellanos would have been a great signing but I am not sure how realistic that would have been you would have also had to be fine with moving Braun to 1B or Castellanos would have to of been fine with moving to 1B. Other than Sogard I was fine with who the Brewers signed. I would have preferred someone other than Smoak but I see what the Brewers were trying to do there. Both Stearns and Mark A. know that they are going to have to make some improvements at 3B, 2B and SS. I think Narvaez will bounce back next year and be the player he was in Seattle. I believe it is going to be a buyers market this off season as there are going to be plenty of options for 2B and 3B. The Cubs are going to have to decide on keeping Bryant or Baez. I believe they are going to go with Baez and will try and trade Bryant as they have Bote at 3B and Rizzo locked up for a few more years at 1B. Bryant doesn't really have a position for the Cubs and I doubt Bryant will want to play DH as it will limit his market in free agency. The biggest FA at 3B in Turner will be 36 years old and he is probably looking at deal closer to what Aramis Ramirez signed with the Brewers. Take inflation into account and subtract a bit due to this season being at a lower revenue for teams and next year being an unknown and you are looking at a $15-18m a year type of a contract. I don't see a team going beyond 3-years for Turner while LeMahieu and La Stella might get 4 or 5 year deals max at about the same per year. I think LeMahieu gets a contract of 5-years $80m and returns to the Yankees but at that price he is definitely in the signable category for the Brewers. There are a lot of options out there in FA this upcoming off season that won't cost a fortune to get. There are definitely more bargain players who will be available in free agency for the Brewers to go out and get. Players like Semien, Profar, Cesar Hernandez, La Stella and others will all be available at reasonable prices. There is just a glut of players that could come in and help the Brewers at key needs next off season. You keep Gyorko and then sign one of Semien, Profar, Hernandez or La Stella and then add someone like Turner and you are not breaking the bank. I expect the Brewers payroll to be around $110m next year especially with Braun more than likely not coming back. The Brewers are going to want to replace him with someone the fans could get behind and I think someone like Turner and to a lesser extent LeMahieu could be that guy.
