  1. Don't have the WR's to do that unfortunately.
  2. Ugggg Ferguson have to secure the ball if you are going to do that.
  3. It is just the first game and against Illinois but wow Mertz looks real good so far.
  4. Probably should be up by 2 scores. That dropped INT dang.
  5. As a note, you are off by one year on Bledsoe's salary. It is fully guaranteed in 20-21 ($16.875M) and 21-22 ($18.125M). He is then only partially guaranteed in 22-23 ($3.9M on a base of $19.375M). That means he's guaranteed about $39M total for the next two years - plus the $3.9M for 22-23 if he's released. That's not a bad salary for a player of his caliber. But it's not great either. The Wizards are also going to be really bad while Beal is there. Beal can also opt out after the 21-22 season so the Wizards only have Beal for 2 more seasons the same with Wall but there is no way Wall is rejecting that player option. I don't believe Wall will ever be the player he was again so he won't get a better contract than what he has now. Taking on Bledsoe gives them another option to trade for another mid 1st round pick. The Wizards will be competing for the #1 pick for the next 3-5 years and they should be trying to acquire as many 1st round picks as possible in that time span.
  6. I certainly may have missed this, but did he actually say this on the record? I think people are reading into what Stearns said too much. Here is the actual quote: "You know, over the last two years we’ve run the two highest payrolls in the history of this organization. And I think it’s uncertain at this point, as we look forward, whether our payroll next year would be at that same level.” I am not sure how that means they are cutting payroll as they are uncertain on what they are going to do at this time. A lot of this depends on how many fans are going to be able to attend. How many games are going to be played. There is a possibility next year could be another shortened season and it is possible that there are no fans at the games. A team like the Brewers needs to have fans in attendance for the team to be profitable. We also don't know and the team probably knows a little bit more but the Brewers should be seeing an increase in revenue from a new TV contract. I am skeptical on the team getting a big payday as TV ratings for all sports have been dropping for a few years now. The majority of the money on TV is now on the streaming services. There has been a significant push from live TV to on demand TV in the past few years. Cable subscriptions have also been dropping and for the younger generations they are becoming less and less popular while things like YouTube and Netflix are far more popular. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers don't see a significant rise in revenue with a new TV contract. The concerns for revenue are real and payroll more than likely dips a bit but by how much I don't think anyone knows. I believe that includes the team as they don't know for certain what their revenue stream is going to look like. If it is just TV revenue and what the team gets from the league then I would expect nothing over $90m payroll wise. If there is a full season allowing for 30-40% of capacity then a $100m payroll would be around their maximum. If the capacity is less than 25% then I think you are looking at a $95m max payroll. I don't believe the team knows what their revenue will be next year and thus the response by Stearns where he doesn't know what the payroll will be and it could be less.
  7. This is never happening. The Sixers give up Embiid and Simmons and end up with Westbrook and Covington? That's a terrible deal for them. Bucks make out like bandits. It's basically Bledsoe for Simmons. No way. Ilyasova at $7M doesn't really add value. Simmons isn't all that good as he can only score by driving to the basket and that is it. His jump shot is worse than Bledsoe's and probably on par with Giannis. Simmons hasn't shown any willingness to improve his jump shot at all. Westbrook is by far a better PG and makes the 76ers ar far better team. Covington while he is not Embiid is a really good center. He is also really cheap. The amount of cap space the 76ers gets should allow them to go after Giannis if he doesn't re-sign with the Bucks. The trade is also titled the Crazy never going to happen trade.
  8. Movie theaters are not a dangerous activity. You can actually fully social distance and be safe in a movie theater there is plenty of enough room to spread people out and be safe in a movie theater. This is just fear mongering please stop with your fear mongering. There is no evidence that movie theaters are a dangerous activity with appropriate social distancing.
  9. Speaking of the game last night. https://streamable.com/nkxs04
  10. Would have to be after the World Series. So probably sometime in November or December.
  11. Trades: Wizards receive Bledsoe, Wilson, 2020 1st round pick, 2024 1st round pick (unprotected) Bucks receive: Beal Crazy never going to happen trade Bucks receive: Simmons Rockets receive: Bledsoe and Embiid 76ers receive: Westbrook, Covington and Ilyasova Trade 1: Bucks receive: Montrezl Harrell in a sign and trade (4 years $42m) Clippers receive: Ilyasova and Smart Celtics receive: Beverly Trade 2: Bucks receive: Paul Thunder receive: Bledsoe and B. Lopez If you get both of those trades the starting lineup looks like PG: Paul SG: Donte SF: Middleton PF: Giannis C: Harrell You could then add one of Robinson, Burks, or Galloway at the MLE for a backup SG and then whoever the Bucks pick up in the draft to play the rest of the minutes. FA: PG: Augustin, Clarkson, and Mudiay all could be had for the MLE. SG: Glenn Robinson III, Burks, Galloway all could be had for the MLE. SF: Jackson I think would get a minimum contract PF: None for MLE C: None for MLE
  12. After game 1 I believe the Dodgers will win in 5.
  13. That was the problem with him in Chicago he is a good safety especially against the run and is a sure tackler. He just doesn't create turnovers though his hands are above average for a safety and he should get more interceptions but never does.
  14. Almost half way through the season: Every team in the NFC East has a negative scoring differential. Also the Jets have a -110 scoring differential. Not sure how that is possible but it is. In the NFC East you could see a 6 or 7 win team make the playoffs. The strongest division by far is the NFC West if you are looking at purely point differential. Unless the Packers or the Bears completely stumble the NFC North is the clear favorite right now to be the #1 seed. The AFC looks to be stacked with good teams the NFC looks to be stacked with average to above average teams. The Steelers, Ravens, Chiefs and Titans look to be really good teams. I think the Bills are just an above average team. If an NFC team wants to win the Super Bowl they will have to be rooting for the Bills as I don't see an NFC team beating the Chiefs, Steelers or Ravens. The Titans maybe but they are a hard team to gauge. I think they are a really good team but they are one of the really good teams an NFC team could surprise and knock off. The Chiefs and Ravens remind me of the Cowboys and 49ers of the 90's.
  15. The Mariners haven't even made it to the World Series yet.
  16. Fun. Tell me a proposal where you'd part with Hiura. Understand improves hit swing contact% his numbers will explode on offense. I dont see filling multiple holes unless referring to future additions through Milb years away prospects. An immediate fill would be a 1v1 move. Gavin Lux, Nolan Jones. And Im not sure beyond that. Not sure the Rays would do this but you could get Xavier Edwards, Shane McClanahan and Kevin Padlo. I don't think the Rays would do this but that is another SS/2B in Edwards could be ready mid 2021 or 2022 with Padlo at 1B and McClanahan either in the rotation or in the bullpen in 2021.
  17. Born and raised in WI chose the Bears because Packer fans are like the Cardinal fans of the NFL plus when I was younger I went to the Bears training camp a few times and also all of my teams that I root for have to start with the letter B which the Packers do not so they are out automatically.
  18. Packers have been waiving the white flag since the 2nd quarter. Funny the announcers saying the Packers defense gave up after the last series. They have given up since mid way through the 2nd quarter!
  19. For Pina I could definitely see a team like the Yankees going after Pina. While he would be expensive for the Brewers as a backup he would be fairly cheap for them. Something like Sanchez for Pina would save them about $3m. The Yankees want to get under the penalty so doing something like this makes sense and it would allow them to pickup any free agent they would want. They could pair Pina with Realmuto if they wanted to but I think the Yankees will forgo another bat in their lineup and will instead focus on pitching again this off season though the pitching market in free agency doesn't look all that good. I think Arcia could be traded for some wildcards basically someone in the low minors probably someone in the DSL. Gamel I agree probably won't bring anything back and I doubt many will be interested at his salary numbers. For a surprise trade I would think a trade of Woodruff or Burnes would be the biggest surprise. That would bring in a lot of talent but you are looking at prospects versus established players. Woodruff would have a value above $100m and Burnes just right behind him at about $80m, once you start getting into values this high it becomes really hard to find trades and trade partner(s) to pull off a trade. The biggest problem is getting the value back unless a team is sitting on 2-3 highly regarded prospects, basically they would have to be 2 prospects in the 1-15 range with the third being in the 20-30 range. So to me the biggest surprise would be Woodruff or Burnes being traded.
  20. I think Cronenworth wins it. Probably will go Cronenworth, Bohm and then Williams. It is hard for a reliever to win these types of awards.
  21. Its because satire has become so believable. There have been plenty of headlines this year and even last year which I thought were satire but no they were real. I have a hard time telling at times if I am reading the babylon-bee the onion or my local news. The lines have become blurred.
  22. Pretty sure if the NFL didn't announce this no one would have even noticed they didn't play the 2021 Pro Bowl. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-announces-cancellation-of-2021-pro-bowl-game-las-vegas-will-host-2022-game/
  23. I think the Yankees reject that trade unless the Brewers are paying some of Hader's and Garcia's salary. The Yankees will be over the cap for the 2nd straight year and they are rumored to be wanting to get below it so they don't have to pay the penalty. For any Yankees trade for Hader I prefer Dominguez over anyone on the Yankees roster. If the Brewers could get Dominguez, Yoendrys Gomez and Andujar from the Yankees I would call that a win.
  24. Normally teams that are in the cap position the Bucks are in trade out of the 1st round. I would expect the Bucks to trade out of the 1st round or pick someone from the Euro leagues who won't be coming over to play right away. Howard could be a good get in the 2nd round though his defense is a bit questionable. He definitely fits into Bud's offensive philosophy and would be interesting to see him in the NBA. Quick edit if the Bucks do draft someone I think Desmond Bane (G/F, TCU) is probably a good pick as he is someone who could step in and play off the bench. He is a 3 and D type of a player.
  25. Because I am using Hader's future arbitration numbers to be replaced by LaStella's and Profar's.
