  1. So who gets called up to take Yelich's spot? Ray or someone else?
  2. What happens if four teams are tied for the two wild card spots? and three of the four teams are also tied for their division. I assume there would be games 163 and 164 for the division and then the losers would play another play in? I am assuming in this scenario the team with the better division record would play game 164 while the #2 and #3 teams would play 163? But after that would they have to play a tie breaker game for the #1 wild card or does that just go off head to head record and then that team plays the winner of the two other tied teams? That would be one awesome 3-4 days of baseball if that were to happen.
  3. The ball was nearly on the other side of the batters box the pitch wasn't the problem.
  4. Both were up and out of the strike zone. Just some lucky hits those pitches are normally outs.
  5. Yeah no LOL Mets tonight! Now just need the Rockies and Padres to do something or at least the Padres.
  6. Is it possible to see less of Freitas? I suppose they could park him in witness protection with Nottingham, but the guy only has a handful of PH appearances. I would prefer never to see Freitas bat again.
  7. Shaw has a higher probability to be better while Freitas is what he is a AAAA player. He had a good year in AAA but AAAA players do that from time to time.
  8. Some positive news: Houser's fastball has been missing bats at the same rate as Verlander's and has been better than Clevinger and Lynn. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/five-relatively-unknown-pitchers-whose-swing-and-miss-fastballs-could-set-up-big-league-success/ Take this for whatever it is worth the sample size is probably to small.
  9. Only if Jim Ross is doing the commentary otherwise no deal.
  10. They were talking about that on the radio broadcast and I was confused about it and thought it was an inside joke or something. He profiles as a 4th OF which is nice to have as we have seen with Gamel. Taylor can play all 3 OF spots and we all know how Stearns loves players who can play multiple spots. Taylor is very athletic so he could be a late bloomer but I doubt it though he was once just a singles and doubles hitter I wish they wouldn't have changed his swing from that. The Brewers have enough guys who smash the ball well it would be nice to have one or two players who just hit the ball for average.
  11. There is no one to call up for SS or 3B. The Brewers have no depth at SS and 3B in terms of prospects that can help now. Turang is probably the closest impact player in A+ ball for SS. At 3B I don't see anyone right now in the Brewers minor league system that profiles any better than Perez at 3B. The best the Brewers can hope for is for Shaw to return back to what he was last year. The Brewers do have a glut of OF prospects.
  12. I'll take the hit but I don't see the Brewers scoring this inning again, maybe Arcia gets hit by a pitch but he will probably swing at that also.
  13. Perez should never see a RHP or a LHP for that matter.
  14. That is just an awesome AB by Gamel. That is 80's era baseball there
  15. I agree completely, but the math is the math. If you are playing to have the best chance at the playoffs, Hader is the only move in the 8th, right? I mean, I am open to a good argument that it's not, but I am having a hard time finding one myself. Maybe we put a 7'run inning, and it's moot. Hope so. The idea was to save Hader for the 9th so he will be available tomorrow which is also a must win for the Brewers. If this was the plan I don't see why they wouldn't have brought him in after Guerra got into trouble. It was really one batter to late when they did finally bring him in. If they can score 5 or more this inning than Hader should be available tomorrow but if he has to pitch the 9th I don't see him being available tomorrow. The Brewers need to win today and tomorrow so I understand why they started the inning with Guerra but I just don't understand why they didn't go straight to Hader once Guerra walked the first batter.
  16. Of course Hader decides to pull a Guerra and throw only 1 competitive pitch.
  17. Getting lucky with these foul balls. These are bad pitches by Junior.
  18. As much noise some posters were making about Freitas he looks like at best a AAAA player.
