  1. What about Mfiondu Kabengele from FSU? He is not all that quick and there have been some questions about his passing ability that would need to improve at the next level but I really love his defense as he excels at blocking shots and he is a rather good at getting offensive rebounds and rebounds in general. Would be a project going forward in terms of passing and ball handling. Also Jalen McDaniels he could be a fit but I think he needs to develop a 3-pt shot. I have also seen Isaiah Roby linked to the Bucks. Not sure how I feel about that.
  2. But what if the improvement is marginal at worst and huge at best? Don’t think anything is gonna happen trade wise for a while so we’ll continue to see what our guys do. There is another probability that Smoak is worse than what Thames and Aguilar are putting up. I think the most probable outcome is Smoak being just a marginal improvement and we have wasted prospect capital for basically nothing. The prospect capital can be used for more important holes that will need to be filled like a relief pitcher or two.
  3. I don't think I ever heard Roache referred to as 'toolsy'. Dude had power - nothing more. Coulter wasn't much different - although he did have a strong arm. I was just going to post this. Clancy I don't think you understand what "toolsy" prospect means with your examples. The more "toolsy" prospects would be Arcia, Cain, Weeks, Braun, Hart, Ray, Lutz, Gray, Grisham, Ward, Lara and others. I would assume that the "toolsy" prospects flame out at about the same rate as everyone else does. You get a bigger boom out of a "toolsy" prospect than the one dimensional ones even if you don't hit on a "toolsy" prospect you still have someone who can be a utility player or a decent regular (Arcia). I prefer the "toolsy" athletic players over the "traditional baseball" player. The game is becoming more about athleticism (OF's are being graded like WR & DB in football now) than it is about the traditional baseball attributes. I don't see this changing any time soon so we should start seeing more of these athletic type of players over your traditional baseball player as they fit in better with analytics.
  4. I would rather just keep Thames and Aguilar than spend the prospect capital even if it is small on a marginal improvement at best.
  5. The Cardinals look like the Pirates last year kind of just hanging around. Maybe they will go on a streak in July and then think they are contenders and trade away their farm system to only fall out of the race by the end of August. The biggest trade asset the Cardinals have is Ozuna but I am not sure if they will trade him even if they are out of it in July, the draft pick compensation maybe worth more than the prospects they would receive in return. Hard to pinpoint a team that will be looking for OF help.
  6. Not a huge loss because we didn't have them. It clearly would have been a HUGE gain for us had we gotten them. Writing it off as no big deal reminds me of when people were talking about how much Herro would fail at Kentucky and then downplaying his talent after he spurred UW for UK. They're good players and the Badgers badly needed an infusion of talent. They weren't game changers hence the nothing special. Herro is a special player that one hurt this one not so much. I don't think this is a huge loss as I don't believe either of them would have fit very well in the Wisconsin system. Joey Hauser wasn't a great defender and would at times disappear in the offense at Marquette it was like he wasn't even there at times. When Howard was out for a bit it was the Hauser show and they just didn't impress at all. I don't see this as a huge loss as I don't think the Badgers have that good of team even with both Hauser's on the team. They would still be about average and nothing more and that is why I just don't see this being that big of a deal. I didn't really care if he was going to be on Wisconsin or not I was more leaning towards he wasn't going to be and the UW visit by them was just a see we tried but it just wasn't a fit. Both of the Hauser's are going where they should be going though you could argue that Virginia and UW are about the same style wise. Joey Hauser is going to a team where he won't have to be the guy but will still get enough shots in at Michigan State. The offensive scheme and play is more suited for his style of play than it would be at Wisconsin.
  7. Official now with one going to Virginia and the other to Michigan State. Not a huge loss watching both at Marquette they were nothing special.
  8. Insurance is likely to pay for the majority of Pedroia's contract. He also won't get the full amount if he retires I believe? Not 100% how this works but I believe when Alex Rodriguez retired he didn't get the full amount of his contract could be wrong on this.
  9. Dustin Pedroia retiring? Sure sounds like he won't be making it back from his knee issue. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2019/05/27/red-sox-2b-pedroia-put-on-60-day-il-future-in-doubt/39519557/
  10. Haven't looked at the stats but I believe Giannis gave up about 30 points with his poor free throw shooting. If he just converts half of those and this series turns completely around. Just 5 more free throw makes this game and the Bucks may have won. This is all on Giannis and he needs to get better at his free throw shooting.
  11. It's ALL on Giannis? If he goes 10 for 10 they're still losing. So this missed free throws are they still losing now?
  12. If Giannis would have made 2 or 3 more free throws this is a more manageable game.
  13. It's ALL on Giannis? If he goes 10 for 10 they're still losing. Yes when you are the leader of a team and you completely suck at what he has been doing it is on him.
  14. If the Bucks lose this is all on Giannis and his poor free throw shooting.
  15. Bledsoe stepping up this quarter impressive.
  16. To be honest you want to have as big of a TV as possible to take advantage of 4k, but if you don't have the budget for it you can get the lower priced TV's. Some say they are 4K but most of them are just up scaled from 1080p to 4k and not really true 4k which is ok as you won't know the difference from a smaller screen. I laugh at people who say their cell phone can play 4k videos. Well it can but the image quality is not as great because of the smaller screen the pixel's are all packed in to a small area. Some reviews that I have seen rate this TV as one of the better ones under $500. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-55-class-led-5-series-2160p-smart-4k-uhd-tv-with-hdr-roku-tv/6202783.p?skuId=6202783
  17. Not sure why some are thinking a 1B in a market that is saturated with a lot of 1B will be some huge prospect haul. Encarnacion is good but the market is horrible for 1B/DH types. At best you are looking at a Dubon being the major piece in a trade for Encarnacion maybe even less. Here is a more realistic deal for Encarnacion. Mariners get: Taylor and Diplan Brewers get: Encarnacion and $2m I don't see how the Mariners could do any better than this for Encarnacion when you look at the market for 1B/DH types.
  18. Brogdon doing his best Bledsoe impression this game.
  19. Middleton has had several bad games this postseason. He is not a max deal player. Well enjoy the mediocre Bucks then and watch Giannis leave. Without Muddleton at best the Bucks will be a 5 seed.
  20. LOL and people were and are still saying if we lose Middleton it will be ok. Yeah this game is proof that logic is extremely flawed.
  21. I will have to dig up the article again but the last time this was looked at it was found that 3B coaches didn't send enough. This was about 10 years ago and the 3B coaches were only sending when it was a 90% chance or better. Should be sending when there is a 70% or higher chance the runner will be safe. You also want to send at 2-outs even if it is a 50-50 play. I believe the chances to score from 3rd with 2-outs is far lower than 50% probably close to 30%. I don't think Sedar sends enough.
  22. Are the refs ever going to call that push off by Kawhi?
  23. Nice deny by Middleton not letting Kawhi get the inbound.
  24. Looking like the Bucks will be the right answer.
  25. Having your starters play as many minutes as they did compared to the Bucks starters and the Bucks being rested also helped. If the Raptors don't get some solid play out of their bench it could be a long series for them. The closer the game is the better for the Bucks as the Raptors can't rotate Kawhi out like the Bucks can rotate Middleton, Giannis and Bledsoe. The Bucks are just a deeper team and probably the deepest team in the playoffs right now.
