  1. And yet you haven't qualified why they both would cost a ton other than hot bat maybe Gausman will be better on another team speculation. While what a player is doing currently does have a small impact on their value teams are still going to look at the overall picture and I just don't see Gausman and Schoop garnering more than what I have proposed. Ray, Ortiz, and a lottery ticket is pretty close to what their value is and that may even be an overpay.
  2. Maybe against the Cubs and the Dodgers as they have two lefties. Assuming a lineup of: Cain Yelich Aguilar Shaw Braun/Thames Moustakas Pina Arcia P You could possibly have Shaw Thames and Moustakas all batting in a row on some nights against a righty and I actually wouldn't mind a lineup like that. It is not the best thing to do but I would rather a manager waste their best lefty on Shaw, Thames or Moustakas than on Yelich. Who knows maybe the other teams manager will gamble and save their best lefty for Yelich and allow for a RHP to throw against Shaw, Thames, and Moustakas.
  3. And doing that all with 0 BB in the month of July. That is right 0 BB. Oh and going back all the way to June 24 Schoop has a total of 1 BB. Since June 1 he has 8 BB and 1 IBB. So over about 2 months he has a total of 8 BB and 1 IBB. Are you sure you really want someone like Schoop. I seem to remember you harking on the team not being patient enough at the plate. Schoop is anything but patient he is more closer to Villar and Arcia than he is Yelich or Cain. Actually a better comp is probably Perez with more power. I don't see Schoop repeating what he did last year any more than I think Villar can reproduce his 2016 season.
  4. Ok you still haven't explained why both would cost more. Mostly just speculation. Looking at Gausman currently he is a #3 type pitcher you are basically gambling on him making a huge turnaround from what he is in Baltimore. While Schoop is hot that doesn't take away the fact that he strikes out at about 20% of the time and he walks less than Villar and Arcia. Think about that for a moment Schoop walks less than Arcia. Do you really think Schoop is worth that much just because he has a hot bat and has team control left?
  5. Shaw at 2B only works if Arcia is up playing SS. !!!CONSPIRACY THEORY!!!! Arcia was brought up to get Moustakas!!!
  6. Why? Schoop is going to be about a 1.5 WAR player (being generous here) and Gausman is about a 2.3 WAR player. It maybe a little bit more expensive but not far more expensive. You are looking at Ray and Ortiz plus a lottery ticket instead of Phillips and Ortiz plus a lottery ticket. I wouldn't call that far more expensive.
  7. I am not sure why everyone keeps bringing up Bundy. Bundy isn't a clear improvement over anyone in the rotation right now and you would have to really believe that he would improve here by a lot to be better than what the Brewers already have. You are basically having to bank on Bundy becoming the next Arrieta. It could happen but I am not confident in that happening. I don't believe Bundy or Gausman have much value. If they were pitching for the Brewers today and you were looking to trade these players in this market you are looking at maybe a teams 15-20 ranked prospect plus one or two lottery tickets. I believe Schoop has more value and something like this Ortiz/Phillips, Diplan, and Grisham would be a fair trade for both Schoop and Bundy. The Orioles could get more by selling both of them separately but not all that much more. Bundy will probably finish the season at about 1.5 WAR and Schoop at about 1.3. Lets round Schoop up to 1.5 and say you are getting two 1.5 WAR players are you really going to give up a top prospect for two 1.5 WAR players? If anything I would offer the same package the Brewers offered for Machado for both Dylan and Schoop. If that is not enough then I would just walk away and that might be an overpay.
  8. I wonder if Holland would accept a minor league assignment until the end of August. If he sucks let him go but if he finds something it could be a free upgrade.
  9. I think Donaldson is going to take a discount or a 1-year prove it deal with the Jays next year and the AL has the DH so he can play there. Everything I have heard from Donaldson is that he wants to stay in Toronto.
  10. No, Hiura to me should only be included if you are talking about a Sale type of a trade. Archer just doesn't fit that type of a trade to me. I don't see the Rays giving up Archer for anything less than Hiura, Burnes, and Ray.
  11. I believe this is Disney just saying sorry we ended Clone Wars early here is the makeup last season we were going to do and oh yeah subscribe to our new streaming service! Basically Disney needed something to put on their new streaming service. I'm not sure why they ended Rebels as they could have used that instead of Clone Wars but whatever. I wouldn't be surprised if Rebels came back at some point also.
  12. Phillips plus a throw in is more than enough for Bundy. I think where he was drafted is blinding you from his actual worth which is closer to a #4 or #5 type starter.
  13. So Clone Wars is coming back!
  14. There are worse things kids could be doing than playing a video game. It is cheaper or can be cheaper than playing airsoft or paintball. If your kid likes playing that game have them try paintball or airsoft instead. Paintball and airsoft can be rather expensive but are incredibly fun to play.
  15. 1) Panthers (mostly because I can't stop drafting Cam Newton on my fantasy teams) 2) Seahawk bandwagon fans 3) Vikings 4) Patriots 5) Cardinals (Because they share a name with a St. Louis team) 6) Packers and their horrible music selection
  16. The Verlander trade from last year would be your starting point, but after that I am not sure what you would have to add.
  17. Didn't see that he was released. Oh well just replace him with another wild card type prospect.
  18. Here are a few trade ideas that I thought of. The Tigers one I am not sure where everyone would play but it would move Braun to a full time bench role which is a plus for me. Brewers receive: C AJ Ellis Padres receive: RHP Thomas Jankins and 1B: Ronnie Gideon Brewers receive: SS/3B Manny Machado Orioles receive: RHP Brandon Woodruff, RHP Corbin Burnes, and OF Corey Ray Brewers receive: SS Jose Iglesias and OF/3B Nick Castellanos Tigers receive: 2B Jonathan Villar, OF Domingo Santana, RHP Marcos Diplan, 1B Jake Gatewood and RHP Jorge Lopez Brewers receive: LHP Luis Avilan White Sox receive: RHP Jorge Lopez
  19. Can't believe I forget about that they completely forget about the international free agency. What are you smoking? Machado is anything but an above average talent he is the 2nd best offensively at SS in all of baseball only Lindor is playing better than he is. If you move Machado back to 3B he is the 5th best offensively. Overall Machado is the 5th best hitter in all of baseball. If that is "above avg talent" then wow you have some serious bias going on.
  20. Did you represent anyone who were drafted this year?
  21. Alvarez is completely wild. They might prefer a pitcher with some level of actual pitchability. The O's really struggle at player evaluation. They might accept offers that others would consider weaker, but to them it's a good offer. In the end, they will likely accept hyped but flawed prospects, and get burned le they do on a regular basis. The last major trade that I can remember the Orioles doing in terms of prospects was the Bedard trade where they received Adam Jones Chris Tillman and a couple of throw ins in return. Adam Jones was not a flawed prospect and Tillman was good until injuries hit him. Other than that the only other prospect trade that I can remember would be Chris Davis and the Orioles didn't do that bad in that trade either. You can fault the Orioles for poor drafting and some questionable free agent signings but prospect trades they have been fairly good at.
  22. No thanks on Happ. I would prefer Hamels over Happ but it sounds like Hamels will be going to the Mariners.
  23. Braun sucks. 3 pitches nowhere near the strike zone and he flails at all of them. Braun needs to be delegated to a bench bat and nothing more.
  24. This looks interesting
  25. I am guessing it is about the same failure rate as early round draft picks maybe a little bit higher since you are dealing with 16-year old players versus 18-24 year old players.
