  1. FS North I believe is the Minnesota Fox Sports network. So you will get the Twins, Wild, and Timberwolves.
  2. Short term yes 125m is do able but not for more than 1-2 years. $125m is probably to much and would be the cap for the Brewers which means no additions during the trade deadline. I think a more comfortable range for the Brewers is $110m they can then add more salary if needed at the deadline then.
  3. As did Chipper. I don't remember Chipper being anything more than average defensively at 3B.
  4. Vlad did more than just hit though. Vlad is probably only 2nd to Clemente as a corner OF defensively.
  5. Are you saying Chipper isn't deserving? He might be the 3rd best 3B ever... At worst he's 6th. I just never thought of Chipper being an elite level player good player just not great to me.
  6. Because they are below their threshold of subscribers. It is dumb and makes no sense but when has a monopoly ever made a rational decision?
  7. I am glad Vlad and Thome got in both were deserving to get in. Not all that thrilled with Hoffman and Chipper getting in.
  8. Not necessarily. The company is basically just playing a numbers game once the threshold of X amount of people leave then they will push the employees to keep people at all cost. It is a numbers game really I have had the cable and satellite companies reducing my bill a few times other times I will have to leave and then I will get mailers and email's from them about coming back with a lot of free stuff attached to it. While it would be cost effective to keep the customer the cable and satellite companies really don't care. This is going to get a little sensitive here but I am going to try and not cross the line into politics here. What is happening is there is very little to no competition in this industry. You basically have 2-3 options and sometimes only 1 option to choose for TV services. Since these are monopolies and most of them are state approved monopolies they are not going to compete to keep customers unless they have to. Basically these companies are only going to compete with each other when they absolutely have to. Which means when their subscribers drop below a certain threshold. Once that threshold is hit they will then start competing for the consumers dollars but not until then. Under a more free market that is more competitive where you have 5-10 different choices the threshold for losing a customer now becomes a lot lower than the monopolies. So to wrap everything up they don't care if you leave really they don't and losing you means absolutely nothing to them unless they are below their subscriber threshold. More competition is the answer but I don't see that happening any time soon.
  9. Even if a Yelich trade was approved today or tomorrow. By time the medicals and all the papers are finalized it wouldn't be official until sometime next week. So I wouldn't be surprised if this is indeed announced during fanfest but not because that is when the Brewers want to do it or when Mark A. wants to do it this would just be circumstance though I wouldn't be surprised if another move like a FA signing would be unveiled then if this trade does or doesn't go through.
  10. This is exactly what I said. I never said Arcia is Escobar. I said he's much closer to Escobar (a basically replacement level SS) than he is to a cornerstone player (A Lindor, Correa, Seager, Machado if he played SS), like was mentioned that caused me to post what I did in the first place. Do I think Arcia is as bad as Escobar? No. Do I think he'll be as good as Lindor, Correa, Seager etc.? No. Do I think he can improve? Yes. Do I think he's closer to Escobar than he is to franchise caliber shortstops? Yes. Andrelton Simmons is a better comp to Arcia than Escobar is. Elvis Andrus is also another player who is closer to Arcia than Escobar.
  11. If the Badgers continue to play the way they have been I don't think they will even make the NIT.
  12. Yelich has more value than Gray does and Quintana has a slight edge over Yelich. Gray is a #3 type pitcher and you don't give up players like Brinson for a #3 type pitcher. Quintana is closer to a #1 type pitcher and I would give up Brinson for him but I can see why Stearns wouldn't give him up for Quintana. I think Brinson, Peralta, and Dubon is what I would be comfortable in giving up for Yelich. That may not be enough for the Marlins.
  13. I think Ellsbury was a doomed trade. The Yankees have been reported that they are not willing to part with Sheffield, Torres, and Adams. That leaves Frazier, Florial, Abreu, and Tate. I am going to go with the Yankees were only willing to part with Frazier and Abreu and wanted the Brewers to take on the majority of Ellsbury's contract. If the Brewers were going to take on the majority of Ellsbury I would have demanded someone like Sheffield over Abreu or Florial. The CF makes sense and I think Brinson along with Santana are probably the ones to be traded. I would think the Marlins would have more interest in Brinson than Santana. This would still allow the Brewers to move Santana to the Indians and then sign Cain. If I were Stearns I would go back to the Yankees and see if they would be willing instead to trade Gardner instead of Ellsbury. You could possibly do Guerra for Gardner which would allow the Yankees to sign a free agent this year like Darvish, Arrietta, Cobb, or Lynn.
  14. Another possible name to throw out there is Tony Bennett. I don't think he will make the jump to the NBA but he is another coach that I wouldn't mind the Bucks going after. Jerry Stackhouse is another but I don't think he has put in enough time yet to take over a NBA team. I really really really want Budenholzer as I believe he would be the right coach for the Bucks. His defensive system would fit right in and I think he could push Giannis and Thon to become better players. Offensively his a better coach than Kidd also and there are pieces that would work in his system in Milwaukee already. I just don't know if Atlanta is going to let him go but if they do the Bucks better jump on him as he will be the best coach available.
  15. In a pinch I think Gardner could play CF. I would actually prefer Phillips in RF over Gardner as Phillips has a better arm. You could platoon Gardner and Brinson or Brinson and Phillips. Gardner could also give Braun days off in LF when needed. Thinking this over Gardner actually makes some sens for the Brewers for this year and next year and while the prospect coming back for Gardner wouldn't be as big from the Yankees I would actually prefer this trade over a better prospect(s) and Ellsbury. Gardner just fits better with the Brewers and you can actually play him and count on him to provide some value. I wouldn't call this the option A but this does improve the Brewers this year and beyond depending on the prospect coming back and who the Brewers have to give up in return. Maybe something like this for Gardner. Yankees get Broxton Brewers get Gardner and Dillon Tate This clears about $10m in payroll for the Yankees to go out and sign Darvish. This also allows the Brewers to trade Santana for pitching and possibly sign another free agent.
  16. My preferred option would be Mike Budenholzer if the Hawks let him go otherwise I think the next head coach will be Doc Rivers. I don't think Rivers is going to last all that much longer with the Clippers and he is probably going to want out as they look to be going into a rebuilding type of mode. Budenholzer is the coach I want as I think he could really turn this team around and make them better but I am not sure Atlanta is going to let him go. I am extremely confident in the Clippers and Rivers parting ways mutually as I don't believe Rivers is going to want to stay for a team rebuilding in LA when he probably won't be around at the end of that rebuild. The biggest scare to me would be Rick Pitino. I hope the Bucks wait until the off season and pick a head coach because knowing these owners it is going to be someone like Pitino and that would just be absolutely awful for the Bucks to choose him especially for Giannis and Maker.
  17. The Giants were never in on Cain. The Giants didn't want to give up their draft pick this year and thus they were out on all free agents who could cost a draft pick. They are also trying to stay under the luxury tax.
  18. I think this has been known for awhile now or at least since the Cain rumors to the Brewers have come up. This is a very logical move for the Brewers. Depending on the return for Santana the next option would have been Arrietta or Darvish but it looks like Darvish is going to the Twins. Another scenario that would clear some space for the Yankees to sign Darvish would be moving Gardner as he is owed $11m this year and $12.5m next year with a buyout of $2m. His salary would also increase to $12m this year if he is traded in the form of a bonus of $1m. But that only brings the Yankees down to about $170m which is close for the Yankees to sign Darvish and also to be able to sign someone next year assuming the Yankees are going to stay below the cap next year which I don't believe they will do. The Yankees trading Gardner makes a little bit more sense than Jacoby as Gardner still has some value and wouldn't cost a big time prospect for a team to take on his salary.
  19. Missing Donaldson yes I know he is only one year removed from an MVP year he was injured last year and would be someone the Brewers could use to fill a hole somewhat. Donaldson would be considered a significant acquisition. I think there is an outside chance of this but I wouldn't be surprised by it. Also you need to add Brett Gardner to that list. If I am remembering correctly the Brewers have been tied to Gardner a few times and I think it was either last year or the year before when they were tied to him last.
  20. No I am 80% confident option A is Santana to the Indians with option B being Cain and option C being Darvish or Arrietta depending on the return for Santana. The other option would be Santana to the Rays and that makes very little sense for the Rays to be doing that trade. Another option that hasn't been brought up recently is Gardner as the Brewers have had interest in him in the past. Final option would be the Blue Jays, would Santana+ be enough for Donaldson? I am not sure but that would be a significant trade.
  21. I think the corporate sponsorship is legit. Between the Bucks and the Brewers I am not sure there is much left and that is not even taking into account the Packers, Badgers, or Marquette. I just don't believe their is much if any corporate sponsorship left for an NHL team. You can probably get a few local companies but the majority of the bigger companies it is going to be hard to get them to buy in. The league fee is probably the biggest hindrance of a team coming to Milwaukee which is at $500 million. I don't see someone putting up that money to have a team in Milwaukee it would take you forever to just get that amount of money back. This is also not including any fee's that you would have to pay to the Bucks to play at their new arena or to even build a new arena. I just don't see it as likely that Milwaukee will ever get an NHL franchise unless one of the teams moves and I just don't see that happening any time soon or ever really.
  22. what in the hell? I think Lucroy/Pina beats Pina/Vogt/Bandy/Susac by a wide margin. Plus, I think he helps the pitchers. He'd also be familiar with Darvish, having caught him in Texas in 2016 and part of 2017. Lucroy's defense has fallen off significantly he is no longer a top defensive catcher. Lucroy is just a little bit better defensively than Vogt and is about a wash offensively between the two. So no it is not by a wide margin if anything they are about equal and I will take Pina and Vogt over Lucroy and Pina every single time.
  23. Apparently Giannis is not happy with the Kidd firing.
  24. But I have been a Blackhawks fan since I was about 9 when I started watching hockey. That's fine but a ton of them came within the last 10 years. They were drawing flies until Kane, Toews, Keith. But that is Chicago sports in general. The most finicky fans I have ever seen.
