  1. This game is also being broadcasted live on Facebook. Not sure on the blackout restrictions.
  2. I'll take Sterling Brown a good 3 and D guard. http://www.foxsports.com/wisconsin/story/milwaukee-bucks-sterling-brown-nba-draft-062317
  3. I believe the Lakers are going to regret taking Lonzo Ball just seems like a Ryan Leaf type of a player.
  4. And the irony is, wouldn't it make sense for the A's to have their AAA affiliate in Fresno? There must be something really bad about Fresno/their ownership that would make the A's want to put their AAA team 2000 miles away. A new facility helps in making that decision.
  5. Super Troopers is one of my favorite movies. One of my favorite recent documentaries is Straight Outta Compton. Not everyone is going to like it because it is about gangster rap but the story is very much the American dream going from having nothing to having basically everything.
  6. Maybe Gatewood to Biloxi to replace DeMuth at 1B?
  7. Thanks and yes Ernesto Martinez. Forgot there was another Ernesto.
  8. Can Ernesto play this year for the Brewers or does he have to wait until next year. I thought that was only for 16 year olds that the team had to wait a year before they can play in their organization or am I remembering something wrong here?
  9. Well was fun while it lasted but it looks like the Cubs are starting to get hot. Probably about this time next week the Brewers will be 3-5 games behind the Cubs.
  10. Whats worse is that he didn't even swing at the best pitch he was given to swing at a slider at the top of the zone. Seriously you swing at a ball below the strike zone but won't swing at a hey hit me pitch?
  11. Maybe it was when Thome was with the Indians or Phillies. But I could be remembering incorrectly also.
  12. I agree that price is way to high for Hand.
  13. Robertson isn't having a bad year for the White Sox so I don't believe they are going to have to take on much of his salary. The White Sox are going to demand Brinson+ for Robertson. I don't think that is worth it even with the White Sox taking on half of his salary for this year and next. I don't believe the White Sox are going to pay any of Robertson's salary at all and by the deadline they will get a nice haul for Robertson. I would rather go after someone that is not going to take a big time prospect to acquire someone like Jeffress or even K-Rod would do the trick. For targets that I think might not take a lot to get would be Brad Hand (Padres), Juan Nicasio (Pirates), Jeffress (Rangers), K-Rod (Tigers), Jason Motte (Braves), and Jim Johnson (Braves). Johnson maybe the only one in that group that may cost a little bit more due to the "closer" effect.
  14. Haha Thames reminds me of the 80's and 90's WWF.
  15. Arcia has a career .389 average and .722 slugging with a man on 3rd and less than 2 out. Just saying . Ya, not sure why there's this obsession with fly balls in those situations. Just do something good, like get a hit. Yuni doesn't approve! http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/6218.png
  16. 1B side is where the shade is at. My favorite section when I lived back in Wisconsin was section 310 or 321 that area always has some shade. But the shade moves from the 1B/RF side over to 3B during day games. 3B side is in the sun for about the whole game during a day game depending on where you sit. If you sit closer to home plate it is not as bad but the closer you get to the OF the worse it gets. The club infield boxes are rather nice and you can sometimes get them for less for day games for weekday games. They usually go for about 30-40 a seat officially they are $44 a seat for adults kids sometimes are cheaper.
  17. I think Gatewood if he continues on his current path he is very comparable to Hart at about 1 year younger also.
  18. If only some of our current prospects could have seasons that were "merely ok" then becuase our current guys aren't even in the same league as prospects as Braun, Fielder, Weeks and even Hart were, and neither are the numbers they are putting up in the minors. Other than Brinson and maybe Diaz I don't think there are any players in our system I can ever see being an all star, let alone a consistent star. I don't know what has happened but we just don't seem to be getting as much out of our prospects as we used to. Gatewood looks like a potential All Star with the year he is having. But it looks like he is being ignored here. If Gatewood continues to play like he has he may end up with a really good year.
  19. If we are giving up both Phillips and Ortiz we better be getting back a starter with at least 3 years of control left. For Herrera the starting point starts with Brinson plus more like Hader and Ortiz more.
  20. That was the point of the post. Even some of the can't miss guys had years where their stats were just merely ok.
  21. I will give you Corey Hart though he basically mashed at every stop but Braun, Weeks, Hardy and Fielder didn't exactly produce at a high level at each MiLB level. Weeks 2004 at AA: .259/.366/.407 Hardy 2003 at AA: .279/.368/.428 Braun 2006 at A+: .274/.346/.438 in A+ Prince 2004 at AA: .272/.366/.473 And for comparison this years players: Gatewood at A+: .292/.371/.496 Feliciano at A this is very impressive for an 18 year old catcher: .266/.335/.367 Dubon at AA: .289/.347/.370 While none of the current players are can't miss prospects to say that they are not doing well is a flat out lie and the expectations here are rather overly high. Gatewood and Dubon are having years similar to what some of the can't miss prospects have done. Hart for example in 2002 at A+ put up this stat line: .288/.356/.573 at a more hitter friendly league. Gatewood is close to matching what Hart did in 2002 and he is producing at a high level this year.
  22. The expectations of some on this board for low minor players is rather comical.
  23. Offensively he reminds me of Weeks coming out of college defensively I have no idea what he will be.
  24. Wow Hiura reminds me of Weeks when he was drafted. I wouldn't be surprised if Hiura is a perennial 350/400/600 hitter or basically a Jose Altuve type of a player. Not going to lie I was hoping for Rogers at the 9th pick but I am fine with Hiura.
