  1. Wow Hiura reminds me of Weeks when he was drafted. I wouldn't be surprised if Hiura is a perennial 350/400/600 hitter or basically a Jose Altuve type of a player. Not going to lie I was hoping for Rogers at the 9th pick but I am fine with Hiura.
  2. Sogard 0-9 now in the last two games. Yep Sogard has cooled off. Horrible timing for Villar to get injured
  3. As long as it is not deceiving the runner then it is ok but yes it is a balk technically.
  4. Goldschmidt doesn't swing at the bad slider Guerra threw on the first pitch and the rolls over on another pitch. Not sure why MLB hitters let so many good 1st pitches go by that they can hit hard.
  5. A flight from Denver to Phoenix is only about 2 hours. If he was in Colorado Springs it wouldn't be all that bad. The flight from Milwaukee to Phoenix is about 1.5 hours longer in comparison.
  6. Kelly's Heroes is always a must watch for me. The new Alien movie was disappointing definitely not a must see especially if you are an Alien fan.
  7. Didn't Konerko or was it Thome who did it in one game he had a grand slam and then the next day he finished the HR cycle? I could have sworn either Thome or Kornerko did it in a 2 game span. Might have been Dunn also.
  8. The data would tell you that you would have a better chance at winning putting all of your money on black 4 in roulette every time than finding anything you are suggesting. There are to many variables that can go wrong or go right to predict with any confidence if player A would develop versus player C. Not to mention that player A who was drafted 5-years ago is completely different than player B who is being drafted now. Even going with physical attributes it still won't get you all that close to what you want. Basically scouts have been doing this for years. I have seen plenty of scouting reports that have compared players physically to Roger Clemens, Nolan Ryan, and others. These scouts were not wrong as they were physically just like them but the results never panned out for one reason or another. There are so many variables that you would need to take into account that the data at some point would just be useless garbage.
  9. If a team claims him during the waiver period they have exclusive rights to acquire Braun. If Braun says no he is not going there then the Brewers would not be able to trade him until the end of the world series to another team.
  10. During the Dbacks game their announcers were talking about Chase's off season workout where he said he added weight. His fastball was clocked at 97 during that game with an average of 95 I believe their stats said. They went on and on about this for a couple of innings. So I tuned some of that out. Maybe that is the reason for the uptick in MPH on his fastball this year.
  11. I think Nelson could reach that ERA mark or be very close to it. Somewhere near a 4 ERA is basically what Nelson is. I don't think Anderson will continue to pitch the way he has but who knows maybe he does. I think Anderson is going to be the one who regresses the most the rest of the season. This season has been weird so far as there is only one team that is on pace for 90+ losses the Phillies and the rest of the league looks like a bunch of 75-80 win teams. The NL East is the weakest division in all of baseball record wise with only a total of 116 wins so far. The AL East and the NL West look to be the most competitive divisions in baseball. The AL and NL Central look completely flat at some point one of the better teams in the AL and NL Central are going to put it together (the Indians look like they are on track now). The Cubs look horrible and the shell of the team they were last year but at some point they are going to put a winning streak together and will put the Brewers, Cardinals, Reds, and Pirates behind them. As of right now I think the Brewers could win 85 games and finish 2nd in the NL Central as I believe 88 wins as of right now looks like it wins the NL Central.
  12. You are forgetting Chris Capuano the real ace of the Brewers pitching staff!
  13. You are all wrong it goes: 1. Branyan 2. Deer 3. Everyone else
  14. Unless it is the Dodgers claiming Braun or the Marlins I don't see Braun waiving that no trade clause and not directed at you but in general yes Braun's no trade clause still matters if Braun is placed through waivers as he could refuse to go to that team and the Brewers would then be stuck with Braun or they would have to release him.
  15. NY is not all that bad. I could think of worse places to live like Wilmington, Delaware.
  16. The worst strikeout ever? http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/05/minor-league-strikeout-weird-baseball-funny-blooper
  17. I really like DL Hall at the 9th spot.
  18. Haven't been in Milwaukee for awhile but the Old German Beer Hall will give you the taste of Milwaukee. If you are going to be in town on a Friday I hope you like fish because that is basically what is served on Friday's at nearly every restaurant in Wisconsin. http://www.oldgermanbeerhall.com For custard you can go to Leon's but I prefer Kopps over Leon's. leonsfrozencustard.us https://www.kopps.com If you bring something to trade people will generally allow you to join their tailgating. The food at the park is not bad but it is rather expensive. If you are driving to the game you should be fine as it is a day time game on Thursday there shouldn't be an issue with finding parking and getting into the stadium. There is a team store in the stadium which is probably the best place to get what you are looking for.
  19. Sometimes the best option is to not touch a players swing until they start having issues. His swing is fine the only thing I don't like about his approach is his leg kick combined with an open front. That is going to cause some timing issues and make him rather streaky that is probably the only thing I would change. If they could get him to close his stance to be more in line with what Hosmer and Bellinger do I think he would be fine from there. I still wouldn't change what he is doing until he starts to struggle. If something works for the player and they are not causing harm to themselves then it is better to just leave it alone.
  20. funny that you mention that, i was just going to post this, looks like there is another Thon Maker in this years draft. anyone not think this isn't going to be the pick: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Isaiah-Hartenstein-81574/ Hartenstein is someone I think fits the Hammonds type of a draft pick at least with Maker and Giannis. Hartenstein's offense reminds me a little bit of Parker's offense. Terrence Ferguson and Hamidou Diallo are also project like picks and I believe the Bucks have been connected with Diallo as he has done a workout for them. I would prefer Hartenstein over those two.
  21. I would rather target someone like Brent Honeywell from the Rays or Justus Sheffield from the Yankees than Quintana. If we are going to be giving up a good prospect I would rather trade for Brent Honeywell. Brinson for Honeywell would make some sense for both the Rays and the Brewers.
  22. Dunkirk is one movie other than star wars and the new alien movie that are on my must see list this year.
  23. You are over valuing Gray by a lot. The A's will be lucky to get 1 top 100 for Gray let alone multiple top 20's in an organization. Gray has about the same value as Nelson does. Nelson has nowhere near the value of Sonny Gray. The difference in talent between these two is pretty sizable. I think this will be proven if Sonny is traded before the deadline this year, like I believe he will. The return will be significant. I'm not even sure the Brewers will get any trade interest in Jimmy Nelson, to be honest. Hopefully he has a wonderful rest of this season and I'm proven wrong. But I'm sure if that's the case, the Brewers may lean on keeping him anyway. Three years ago and you are right Gray has more value but now not even close as they both have about the same value and talent wise I just don't see it anymore with Gray. I watched a few of his starts last year and he looks like a shell of what he was 3 years ago. Right now Gray looks like a #4 or #5 type starter not someone I would give up much more than I am willing to give up for Nelson.
