  1. 2010 will be a good year for the Brewers assuming they can get a good #1 or #2 pitcher in a trade. 2010 lineup C Rivera 1B Prince 2B Weeks 3B Gamel SS Escobar LF Braun CF Cameron (unless the Yankees over pay for him) RF Katin/McGehee Bench Hall Bench Corporan Bench Gerut Bench McGehee/Katin Bench Heether SP Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Hardy/Hart trade, Suppan RP McClung, Villanueva, Coffey, Stetter, DiFelice, Riske, Cody 2011 could really be a big year though both Hall and Suppan will be coming off the books freeing up some money. That money will probably go towards extending Prince or Gallardo though and probably one free agent or be banked for a mid season acquisitions.
  2. Hall has positive value if the Jays put in Rios/Wells. With Wells Hall has 10 times the value you may think there is.
  3. This team needs more than Halladay or any other starting pitcher. This team needs Hardy to wake up at the plate Kendall is about to pass Hardy in production at the plate. Hardly needs to wake up and wake up soon. I hope Macha benches Hardly for the next series to give him a "mental" break.
  4. When does this stop being about bad luck and Hardy just sucking?
  5. Confidence isn't McClung's problem when put in the starting rotation it is his pitch count especially the amount of pitches he throws in each inning that keeps him from being a starter. If McClung could keep his number of pitches down per inning he could be a good #5 pitcher.
  6. I have a feeling Braun is going to hit into a double play or strike out.Hmmm I feel like that one fan in the movie Major League who keeps on dissin the team and then they do something good and I am happy again.
  7. I have a feeling Braun is going to hit into a double play or strike out.
  8. Hopefully Hardy gets benched for awhile he stinks right now and is close to being the worst everyday starter on the team. I'm hoping Hardy gets traded near the deadline and Escobar is given a chance. I would take Counsell every day over Hardy right about now.
  9. Hardy for a bag of balls and some nachos sounds good right about now. I say bring up Escobar Hardy looks done.
  10. Ground rule double would probably apply in that situation it would suck for the team batting but at least some runs come in instead of possibly none.
  11. Lee is not going anywhere though. It would take as much to get Lee as it would take to get Halladay.
  12. It might be the mental problems that teams are worried about or the Pirates asking price but that doesn't sound like it is the issue. There maybe something else going on that hasn't been reported yet or is just unknown. Teams may also be waiting to see if the Pirates just dump Snell and sign him instead of giving away something for him. I don't think the Pirates would want another OF though. I would think they would want a pitcher in return but Katin would be almost perfect. If Snell is as good as he was or just somewhat good as he was in the beginning of the season it would be a steal. I think Snell would be just as good of a move as it would be trading for Bedard or Davis. Snell has two option years after the '10 season both years are under $10m with '12 option being the most expensive but rather cheap at $9.25m. Snell is only owed $4.25m next year also and about $1.5m for the rest of this season. Snell would be a cheap upgrade for the rotation and would be at least a cheaper #4 option for next season if the Brewers would pick up Looper's option. It makes sense for the Brewers to go after Snell I'm just not sure it will happen though.
  13. From my post on the first page MLB Trade Rumors link.
  14. The GM has been trying to get rid of Snell for awhile now and there has been no takers so far. I wouldn't be surprised if Snell is moved for someone like Cody or Dillard.
  15. McClung yes Villanueva no. I doubt it would even take someone like McClung to get Snell from the Pirates it looks as though there are a lot of problems between Snell and the GM. Cody or Dillard might be enough to get Snell.
  16. Probably something similar to what the Twins got for Santana.
  17. Why would you waste Rivera that early though? Gerut was fine in that spot.
  18. The ball must be really carrying well if Kendall hit one that far. Nice sac fly by Kendall there.
  19. Ahhh didn't notice that well there goes that idea but if he was healthy it would be a good deal.
  20. Carlos Triunfel he is only 19 years old and is very comparable to Alcides Escobar minus the sure gold glove at SS though but everything else he is already as good as Escobar is. Bill Hall is a salary dump for the Brewers and will be gone after next year so the Jays lose a lot of salary and can play Hall at SS, 2B, or in the OF at about $3m less than what they would be paying Rios to play just a corner OF spot. Plus the Jays free up salary after the 2010 season which is very valuable when you have players like Hardy and others being free agents. Possible top 2011 free agents: Brandon Webb, Akinori Iwamura, J.J. Hardy, Derek Jeter (will probably retire or resign with the Yankees), Garrett Atkins, Victor Martinez, Joe Mauer, A.J. Pierzynski, Carl Crawford, Adam Dunn, Dave Bush, Josh Beckett, Ted Lilly, Cliff Lee, Javier Vazquez, and Roy Halladay. The Jays could probably pay for one or two of those players to improve their team. By that time Rolen and Hall come off the books while Rios would still be signed to a rather big contract with the Jays. Hall has value to a team like the Jays who will not be competing because it doesn't really matter if he performs or not because after the 2010 season he will be gone unlike Rios who would be there for a long time. If Wells would be in the deal the Jays would be getting a lot less in return.
  21. What about this trade: Jays send: Rios and Halladay Brewers send: Hart, Hall, Hardy, Green, and Rogers Mariners send: Morrow and Triunfel Jays receive: Triunfel, Green, Hall, and Morrow Mariners receive: Hardy, Hart, and Rogers Brewers receive: Rios and Halladay Brewers take on the salary of both Rios and Halladay. Hall's salary is a relief for the Brewers from taking on both Halladay's and Rios's salary for this year and next year and to 2012 with Rios. The Jays receive Triunfel the Mariners #4 best prospect a SS who ranked #30 in the MiLB preseason prospect rankings the Jays also receive Rolens replacement in Green and Morrow a major league ready starting pitcher. The Mariners get two players who will improve their offense and a fringe #3 or #4 starter if healthy. I doubt this would happen it probably has a 0.000000000001% chance of happening but I believe this is rather fair for all three teams involved. The Brewers maybe on the bad end of the trade here with Rios's contract. I think there would have to be something else heading the Mariners way maybe another B prospect going to the Mariners from the Brewers or the Jays.
  22. It was reported that the Brewers were interested in Davis but the Diamondbacks were not thrilled with the return that they would be getting for him. I'm going to guess here and say Gillespie, Mercedes, and another prospect or two to the Diamondbacks for Davis and Lopez was in the works and the Diamondbacks were not interested in something like that.
