  1. Yes but I love that show it is one of the few shows that I actually watch week after week. The three shows I watch are: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Unit, and House. Ones that need to go are Prison Break, Frank TV, and ER.
  2. Some good family fun would be Mario Kart and here is a list of all of the games available for the Wii.
  3. Today Mark Cuban got charged with insider trading. ESPN article. I don't know why anyone like Cuban or anyone like him would do this. They are only saving pennies when it comes down to what they are doing. It is not like they can't afford to lose $100,000 here and there that is like me losing a penny. I'm not going to fret over it.
  4. At least the NBA is looking into Saturday's incident between Bogut and KG. ESPN article.
  5. Cano was actually worse than Weeks defensively last year at 2B. I believe nearly all of the metrics for rating defense have Weeks ahead of Cano. Loretta would just be a stop gap until someone else could step in and I'm not sure I would want to spend the money necessary to go out and get Loretta.
  6. Justin Morneau and Derek Jeter shouldn't have won this year. Youkilis by far was a better 1B and had better numbers than Morneau. Derek Jeter is the antislugger how anyone in their right mind could vote for Jeter is beyond me.
  7. Results are in and can be seen here. AMERICAN LEAGUE Catcher: Joe Mauer, Twins First base: Justin Morneau, Twins Second base: Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox Third base: Alex Rodriguez, Yankees Shortstop: Derek Jeter, Yankees Outfield: Josh Hamilton, Rangers Outfield: Carlos Quentin, White Sox Outfield: Grady Sizemore, Indians Designated hitter: Aubrey Huff, Orioles NATIONAL LEAGUE Catcher: Brian McCann, BravesFirst base: Albert Pujols, Cardinals Second base: Chase Utley, Phillies Third base: David Wright, Mets Shortstop: Hanley Ramirez, Marlins Outfield: Ryan Braun, Brewers Outfield: Matt Holliday, Rockies Outfield: Ryan Ludwick, Cardinals Pitcher: Carlos Zambrano, Cubs
  8. Wood was offered a multi year deal last year from the Brewers. I'm assuming that Melvin is still interested in Wood and I believe Melvin will go after Wood first before Hoffman.
  9. According to the article it is Jose Ceda. The Cubs are really getting low on prospects here. If Marmol or Wood get injured or someone else on the team starts to under perform the Cubs are not going to have anything to trade for in a mid season trade.
  10. A trade of Cameron and Fielder to the Yankees for Cano, Hughes, Kennedy, and Mark Melancon would be a fair deal for the Brewers. That still wouldn't fix the OBP problems though and the Brewers would have to go into free agency and get someone to play 1B and get OBP. Adam Dunn or Pat Burrell would be likely candidates for the 1B spot. I would prefer Dunn over Burrell though only because Dunn is a left handed bat. This also means that the Brewers would be giving up on Weeks at 2B which it sounds like they maybe doing anyways. Moving Weeks to the OF or trading Weeks may happen this year or next year. Rosenthal said this "Melvin said Escobar will play second base as well as short in spring training, working with the team's new bench coach, former major league second baseman Willie Randolph." in his recent article. I don't see the Brewers trading Fielder or Hardy this off season though. Nor do I see the Brewers trading Weeks this year either Cameron I could see but I doubt it happens. It would be to hard to find an equivalent replacement for him both defensively and offensively. But if the Brewers did do the above trade and signed Dunn to a 4 year $60-70 million contract the lineup would be alright and the rotation would be about what we had in the beginning of this year. Lineup: 1. Weeks CF 2. Hart RF 3. Braun LF 4. Dunn 1B 5. Hardy SS 6. Cano 2B 7. Hall/Branyan/Lamb 3B 8. Kendall C Bench Hall/Branyan/Lamb Iribarren Rivera Kapler Gwynn Rotation 1. Gallardo 2. Parra 3. Bush 4. Hughes 5. Suppan Bullpen Riske McClung Villanueva Kennedy Shouse Stetter DeFilece
  11. Las Vegas.
  12. Wood will want a 3-5 year deal around $10-13 million per year. Hoffman would be looking for a 2 or 3 year deal around $7-9 million a year.
  13. With Torres gone that leaves the bullpen with DiFelice, Dillard, Stetter, Villanueva/McClung, and Riske as coming back for sure. Question marks include Gagne (FA), Shouse (FA), Mota (FA), and Coffey.
  14. The thing about Giles though is that he wants to be playing everyday. If you trade for Giles who sits out? Hart goes to the bench in 2009? Cameron is going to be playing CF almost everyday next year and I don't see Giles accepting a trade to Milwaukee if he is not starting nearly every game. I don't believe Hart is a CF he could fill in for a couple games here and there but I don't believe Hart defensively would be a good CF. One of Hart or Cameron would have to be traded in order to fit in Giles on the team and I don't see Giles playing CF either. Hart would have to be either traded or be put on the bench for 2009 and become the 4th OF. That doesn't really make any sense at all. Either way Hart would need to be traded in order to make room for Giles.
  15. Yes Melvin should ask about Giles but I think the price to get Giles maybe to high. At a minimum it would be a Hart for Giles trade I would believe to get this done. The Brewers might get someone else back in return but it wouldn't be anything significant.
  16. Ranking these by OPS NL Who should win. C: Brian McCann 1B: Albert Pujols 2B: Chase Utley 3B: Chipper Jones SS: Hanley Ramirez OF: Ryan Ludwick OF: Matt Holliday OF: Adam Dunn Who will win the 2008 Silver Sluggers for the NL C: Geovany Soto 1B: Albert Pujols 2B: Chase Utley 3B: David Wright SS: Hanley Ramirez OF: Ryan Ludwick OF: Ryan Braun OF: Matt Holliday AL who should win C: Joe Mauer 1B: Kevin Youkilis 2B: Ian Kinsler 3B: Alex Rodriguez SS: Jhonny Peralta OF: Carlos Quentin OF: Josh Hamilton OF: Nick Markakis DH: Milton Bradley AL Who will win C: Joe Mauer 1B: Kevin Youkilis 2B: Dustin Pedroia 3B: Alex Rodriguez SS: Derek Jeter OF: Josh Hamilton OF: Carlos Quentin OF: Grady Sizemore DH: Milton Bradley Do the who will win sound about right for each league? I believe Braun is deserving of the award but he isn't in the top 3 in using OPS but he is 2nd in slugging though. Braun is deserving but there are other players who are also more deserving than Braun in the OF. The same goes with Hardy at SS. Drew and Ramirez had a better season than Hardy did. EDIT: Title- PF
  17. Was looking around at the Rocky Mountain News and found these gems from Drew Litton. http://blogs.rockymountainnews.com/denver/drew/DREW1010.gif http://blogs.rockymountainnews.com/denver/drew/DREW1002.gif http://blogs.rockymountainnews.com/denver/drew/DREW0621.gif
  18. This trade is dead according to the Rocky Mountain News.
  19. Yankees Building New Vacation Stadium In The Hamptons
  20. I don't see Fielder being in the plans for the Rays. They already have enough DH guys and a 1B in Pena. The Rays do need a RH batter and they are looking for a RF so Hart does make sense but I doubt they trade Crawford for him. The Brewers and Rays match up rather well as trading partners but I believe the timing is just not right for each team.
  21. Anyone catch that post game interview with Mo Williams on ESPN earlier this week? If I remember correctly he said something along the lines of if you want to win you will play defense when he was asked about the Cleveland coaching teaching defense first then offense. So Mo didn't want to win last year and that is why he didn't play defense? I believe that is what he said along those lines. I believe there was more to the interview and he was talking about something about his time in Milwaukee last year but I didn't catch that. I posted this now to cool off a little bit and see if I could see what he was really saying.
  22. Ian Kennedy = Dave Bush. I have said this a couple of times when discussing trades with the Yankees. Dave Bush is probably better than Kennedy though.
  23. Luc Mbah a Moute is the Bucks Tayshaun Prince? At the beginning of the year I thought this was going to be Alexander who looked a lot like Tayshaun. Maybe Luc will be more like Tayshaun it is to early in the season to tell how good Luc actually is.
  24. Another Boras head scratcher. The Book on Boras's Clients. I love this quote from the linked article: "The Perez book is divided into eight chapters that include such headings as: "PEREZ TURNS CORNER IN 2006," "PEREZ IS ONE OF BASEBALL'S TOP 5 LEFT-HANDED STARTING PITCHERS," "A RARE YOUNG LEFT-HANDED STARTING PITCHER AVAILABLE ON THE FREE-AGENT MARKET," "BIG-GAME OLLIE," and "DURABLE OLLIE.""
  25. I don't believe the Brewers should pursue Perez at all. He is a lefty and he would be a good bridge between Parra and Bush or between Bush and Suppan if you want to separate the lefties. I don't believe the Brewers should pay the amount of money and years it would take to get Perez though. Some fun reading about what Boras thinks about his client Perez though. The Book on Boras Clients. My favorite quote from the linked article. "Chapter Three is entitled: "PEREZ IS ONE OF BASEBALL'S TOP 5 LEFT-HANDED STARTING PITCHERS." It puts Perez in a grouping with CC Sabathia, Cole Hamels, Ted Lilly and Johan Santana"
