This trade doesn't make any sense unless the Raiders or Broncos are trying to move up also. McCarthy should be there at #11.
If the Bears trade #9 it will be to move back further than #11 and if they got #11 in this deal I think they would trade this pick to move out of #11. I think they will want to get more picks especially in the 2nd round. The only way the Bears are not trading the #9 pick is if one of Nabers or Odunze are available which I don't think will happen. I could see a team trading with the Giants to pick up an OT though.
I don't see the Commanders making this trade at all. It just doesn't make sense for them to move off the #2 pick especially for this return. I think you are underestimating what it is going to cost to get in the top 3. The Patriots want 3 first round picks at a minimum for #3. I don't see the Commanders giving up a 3rd and only receiving a fourth and fifth round pick with the three first round picks. Yes I know the value is not correct but I think you have to throw the valuations out the window with this draft. All three of the top 3 pick teams need a QB and want to draft a QB. If you are trading to get into the top 3 you are going to have to pay more than what the Panthers gave up last year for either of those two picks. The Patriots are not budging on their ask and I just don't see the Commanders taking anything less than 3 first round picks plus a future 2nd or 3rd for #2. If the Commanders are going to add to the deal it is probably a fifth or a future fourth round pick. Whoever trades into the top 3 will have to pay more than what has been done in the past to do so.
