  1. Sounds like a Cubs target.
  2. I had Brooks in a lot of my mocks for the Packers. It feels good being right about someone even though I am not a Packers fan. I did have the Packers though taking Branch in the 1st round instead of Van Ness. Speaking of Van Ness he doesn't look like he is bulking up at all while Brooks has. I think that was the knock on both of them that they were not big enough (strength wise) to compete in the NFL. It looks like Brooks is getting bigger while Van Ness still looks like what he was in college. I would still expect Van Ness to be the better player long term but it looks like it is going to take Van Ness longer to get to the player he should be maybe in year three. Brooks should be a good edge rusher for the Packers. He won't be an elite edge rusher but someone you can expect 2-4 sacks per year. Which would put him around average to above average as a pass rusher. Reed also looks to be a good slot receiver and maybe a primary receiver. But I think he profiles better in the slot. Wicks I am not familiar with but even at a 2 for 1 that is a really good trade off.
  3. If the Brewers decide to keep Adames, Burnes and Williams then I could see them trading for Jimenez. They were at advanced talks with the White Sox for Jimenez at the deadline. A framework is already there for a trade both teams know who is and isn't available in a trade. Maybe a Wiemer for Jimenez plus trade. I think Wiemer's value is a bit low right now but he would be someone the White Sox would have interest in. I am just not sure what Wiemer's value is right now probably somewhere around $5mm in excess value and Jimenez probably around $1.5mm. Maybe something like Jimenez and Leasure for Wiemer could work out but I think the Brewers would be selling really low on Wiemer if they did this trade. Though if Wiemer doesn't improve his strikeout issues this would be an absolute steal by the Brewers.
  4. Depending on the subject you probably have a smaller attention span than a tween girl.
  5. It would be smart for him to come back. He probably goes undrafted this year. But if he comes back and is healthy all year that should put him in the 4-6 round range.
  6. I think Mellusi would need to be eligible as a 6th year senior in order to return. I thought this was his 5th year?
  7. It will be without Allen so hopefully they can get some WR’s who can catch otherwise next year is going to be tough.
  8. Could Leonhard be the next Ohio State HC? With Day losing his third game to Michigan his seat has started to get a bit warm. I don’t think Ohio State will fire Day but this would really hurt if Leonhard goes to Ohio State.
  9. Is this the same team?
  10. Allen is a poor fit in most offenses other than one that runs the I formation the majority of the time. He does pass block really good. If he was a bit faster he would fit into nearly any kind of offensive scheme.
  11. Close but I think you need to go at least 4 years maybe 5 to outbid other teams. The $/year is right.
  12. None of the players mentioned would even be desirable but now I think the Twins would really be interested in Peralta if they are looking at cutting payroll and won't be bringing back Gray it sounds like. I would still do this trade with the Twins: Peralta to the Twins for Brooks Lee, Soto (SP) and Festa (SP). The one veteran that might interest the Brewers is 2B Jorge Polanco. He has two options remaining on the contract he signed in 2019; a $10.5 million option in 2024 and a $12 million option in 2025. Polanco posted a 115 OPS+ in 2023. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-rumors-yankees-eye-jordan-montgomery-reunion-plus-cody-bellinger-and-juan-soto-twins-could-cut-payroll/ View full rumor

  14. He is not going to be fired. Not sure why anyone thinks he will be. Unless LaFleur is fired which is also not going to happen unless the Packers are blown out in all of their remaining games.
  15. It is and I have leftovers from Cracker Barrel today. Mmmmm soooo gooooood.
  16. Waxing Gibbous is an astronomy thing not an astrological thing.
  17. Depends on the buyer. If they are looking at the property as a rental property then having someone there already paying should be a positive. Also would depend on if they think repairs or upgrades would be needed. If not then a positive if they think otherwise then probably a negative.
  18. The team can offer less but I don't see him accepting. The 7/80 is definitely not a bit high. It is a bit low as you are not going to get an Albies contract accepted and you are probably looking at the low end being what Acuna signed for 8/100. But I don't see Contreras even accepting the same contract that Acuna signed for. Plus Contreras being on the older side this would be his one and only big time contract so for a 7-year deal you are going to have to overpay for years 5-7. Hence why I believe you will need to get closer to the 15-17 per year average. For the 7/80 it is not enough as you are only averaging about $11mm per year. You will need to up that amount or give Contreras an opt out after year 5 which only gives you one free agent year. It just doesn't make sense for Contreras to sign a 7/80 type of a deal unless you are giving Contreras an out after year 5. His arbitration years 2 and 3 should get him at $10mm in year 2 and over the $11mm in his final arbitration year. You have to pay for that final arbitration year and the free agent years you are buying out. His brother was also older when he signed his deal and his average per year is about $18mm. The final three years to equal what his brother got would need to be in the $15-17mm range which you already broke down. So the $15M / $16M / $17M is what you would need to get to in order for him to sign.
  19. Mariners and Dbacks make a trade.
  20. He would turn that down not enough $/year. I think he would accept something closer to 15-17 per year. So if you want to go 7-years then something like 7/108 is what you would need to offer.
  21. Hasn’t Dike also dropped some sure catchable passes? Didn’t he drop a sure TD in the first or second game of the year? I feel like he has dropped more easy catches this year. That maybe why he hasn’t been in as much along with the injuries.
  22. Much better to be pessimistic after a big win then you can’t be disappointed.
  23. This team is looking like a 10-14 seed tourney team. Really early right now and they could pull off some upsets but I just can't see this team being anything better than a 10 seed. Maybe I am wrong but this looks to be another disappointing year for the Badgers.
  24. Seeing Marquette beat Kansas is always nice. I used to work with someone who was so annoyingly a KU fan.
