  1. I’m pretty sure The Last Man on Earth is cancelled for good, but if you found any info that suggests otherwise, that’d make my day. I was really hoping for a pickup by a streaming service. Apparently, Will Forte said they had a plan to wrap up the series in 10 episodes, but didn’t get the half season renewal. The main cast was going to gain the trust of the masked survivors in Mexico and then accidentally kill them all off since they are carriers of the virus.
  2. If you would have said at the beginning of the playoffs that the Brewers and Dodgers will be tied 3-3 in the NLCS with Game 7 at Miller Park, we all would have taken that.
  3. Now that The Last Man on Earth has been cancelled, I’m hoping that frees up Will Forte for Macgruber 2.
  4. If the dementia theory were true, I’d put the blame on Mark Murphy. The defense has been broken for 8 years and, to me, that constitutes an organizational failure. They’ve had to throw so many picks at the defense that the offense has started to erode. If others in the organization had spotted signs of dementia, they should have given Thompson a gold watch and a ‘senior personnel advisor’ title a long time ago. Meanwhile, look at all the personnel evaluation talent that has gone out the door in that time - Dorsey, McKenzie, Schneider, Wolf, etc. Again, all conjecture, but Mark Murphy should not be immune from criticism.
  5. This is just conjecture, but do you think Ted’s performance as GM post XLV was dementia-related? His speech really deteriorated during his tenure as GM and 10 years as an NFL linebacker probably didn’t help the situation.
  6. Thank you, but let’s not forget that Ted Thompson built a Super Bowl championship roster from scratch and almost entirely through the draft. There is no taking that away from him and he has my eternal respect. That being said, his last 5 years at the helm were awful.
  7. Those two things don't add up. I agree this is a bad team, but they need more than one good draft class. They also need goo FA signings next year, and hope a couple current young players turn into studs. All that can happen, in the NFL these days a team can take massive steps forward or back in a year. I have zero faith though as long as McCarthy is still around. The Packers will probably have 3 picks in the Top 50. Adding 3 immediate starters is a realistic possibility. You don’t think upgrading 3 positions would lead to extra wins? Don’t get me wrong - it very well may not if they continue to draft poorly, but I’m still optimistic.
  8. This is not a good team. Brett Favre took over for Don Majkowski when I was in the first grade. Since then, it’s been my expectation that the Packers compete for a Super Bowl every year. It’s probably time to adjust those expectations and enjoy each game one at a time. I don’t think the Packers are that far away from elite status. One good draft class in 2019 could vault them back into contention (like the Saints in 2017). They’ll have the draft capital to make that possible next Spring, but right now, they just don’t have the horses.
  9. EQ had a clutch catch too. Those two have gotten some good experience with Cobb and Allison out. Even Moore got in on the action tonight.
  10. Wow, so happy for Mason. This team has a lot of warts, but I’m going to just enjoy this one. Great night for my two favorite teams.
  11. This is the first MNF game I’ve watched since the Packers last played on Monday night. I can’t say I’m a fan of Booger McFarland. I get it. It’s cold, but we let our children trick-or-treat in this weather.
  12. That stat they flashed before the Crosby FG was crazy. The Packers are 0 for 5 (now 0 for 6) on 3rd down with an average ‘yards to go’ of 13.2. Ouch. Makes you wonder how they have scored 23. I’ll take that FG to pull close to even, but I have a feeling they’ll need multiple TDs to win this game (and some stops).
  13. Meanwhile, at Dodger Stadium ... 4-0 Brewers
  14. They need to be aggressive. Never punt in 49er territory. I’m assuming SF will score on every possession unless the Packers catch a break like they did with the two fumbles in the first half.
  15. After you posted, I had to go back on the DVR to see that commercial. It was pretty good.
  16. I’m watching the Packers, but I don’t have anything good to say.
  17. This was touched on a little earlier in the thread, but the short answer is there was no estate tax in 2010. The Steinbrenner Family was very lucky.
  18. Your point is well taken (the old rules don’t apply), but it’s still fun to speculate.
