  1. [sarcasm]We’ve got to quit it with these stimulus checks if this is where the money winds up going.[/sarcasm]
  2. The ‘Cash me Outside’ girl from Dr. Phil just turned 18 and made $1 million overnight on Only Fans. Meanwhile, I’m in my mid 30s and finally saved up enough money to buy real patio furniture. (link is to Barstool Sports ... nothing obscene) https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3356871/the-catch-me-outside-girl-turned-18-immediately-created-an-onlyfans-account-and-proceeded-to-make-dollar1-million-in-six-hours
  3. It’s crazy to think that some guys played their last college hockey games last weekend and will be playing in the NHL this weekend. Not too long ago, Brock Boeser played for North Dakota on a Friday night and then for the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

    Pizza

Pre-COVID, I used to buy (and expense) Pizza Hut for my team when we worked late nights or weekends. It was a way to show appreciation for the crew, while at the same time demonstrating to Senior Management that I wasn’t abusing my expense account (‘it’s only Pizza Hut’).
  5. The fact that he’s used at least 40 massage therapists (21 who have accused him of indecent behavior and 19 who have defended him) is concerning. I’d understand if he had 4-5 on a short list, but 40?

    Pizza

What happened to Pizza Hut? They ruled in the 80s and 90s. Going there for a sit down meal was a treat. One time as a kid, while sleeping over at a friend’s house, the host parents let us order whatever we wanted from Pizza Hut. I thought that was the neatest thing (and the ultimate status symbol for a 10 year-old). I think their downfall may be due to changing consumer tastes and competition from non-pizza restaurants. Fast casual places like Qdoba, Chipotle, Panera, or Noodles were rare in the 80s and early 90s.
  7. Thanks for that perspective. I do remember seeing a ton of Michigan Starter jackets at that time.
  8. Interesting Tweet: The Packers only have 29 players under contract for 2022 and are already $4 million over the estimated $200 million 2022 salary cap.
  9. I was trying to cheer for Michigan, but it is really hard. I actually like Howard (at least my favorite of the fab-5). Still didn't hurt to hear that they lost. Granted... I don't care to see West Coast teams look so much better than the Big10 either... I’m just a tad too young to remember the Fab 5, so I’ve never really understood the hype surrounding a team that LOST back-to-back national championship games. I guess they wore black socks and baggy shorts, so they at least looked really cool while losing ... ?
  10. Who was claiming that Love's value has increased? I must have missed that if someone did. I wasn’t referencing a specific post. This group is pretty grounded. If I’m being objective, I think Love’s trade value ceiling is probably a 2nd and a 5th (assuming someone is still high on him). I’m not expecting a Ron Wolf scenario where a rival GM identifies Love as a franchise QB and does whatever it takes to acquire him. I doubt he’s traded anyway.
  11. I don’t see how Love’s value increased after a year. We know next to nothing about his development and the Packers ate up one of his ‘value’ contract years. If they are still extremely high on him, then he’s untouchable. If they have reservations about his ability to be a franchise quarterback, then I’d trade him for a 2nd or a 3rd ASAP while he still has value to people outside the organization. It’s a big mystery. Trading Love would actually complicate the cap situation because he has about $7 million in amortized signing bonus that would accelerate to the current year if he were to be traded. Therefore, I think he’s only traded if 1) someone offers a 1st round pick or 2) they know they whiffed and want to recoup some value.
  12. I had to Google it - I guess it’s anxiety caused by not meeting the traditional cultural standards of manhood and the compensatory behavior to make one feel more masculine. [sarcasm]Whatever. I’m just going to grab a beer and watch the game.[/sarcasm]
  13. Frozen Four: UMass Minnesota-Duluth Minnesota State St. Cloud State I think I’m pulling for Minnesota State because they effectively got left behind out of the big college hockey realignment and have made the best out of a bad situation. Then probably St. Cloud because they’re competitive year-in and year-out, but have never broken through in the tourney. I’m still too sour about North Dakota’s 5OT loss to Duluth to pull for the Bulldogs, but maybe that will wear off in 2 weeks. I’ve always liked their program.
  14. I was pleased to see Wisconsin politicians put aside their differences and approve more carry out alcohol options. That’s a win for struggling restaurants and a win for cocktail fans statewide. Cheers! https://www.wbay.com/video/2021/03/27/governor-signs-cocktails-to-go-bill-into-law/
  15. I enjoyed the last episode of Superstore. I won’t ruin it for anyone who has it DVR’d, but I was pleased it received a proper finale. Top 10 network sitcom of the 2010s, easily.
  16. My first Bucks’ game was Keith Van Horn’s debut.
  17. Indeed. I have very fond memories of watching Badger hockey on PBS with my dad as a kid.
  18. Duluth beats North Dakota in quintuple overtime (5OT). Had Duluth not gotten the bye after Michigan dropped out, I’d like to think UND would have taken care of business last night. Instead Duluth benefits from fresh legs in what turned out to be the longest game in college hockey history. I need some new hobbies - watching the Packers, Bucks, and UND finish their regular seasons #1 only to disappoint in the playoffs is taking a toll on me. Anyone try stamp collecting?
  19. She was terrific. I’d put the original 53 episodes of Arrested Development up against any network sitcom of the past 20 years. The rubes just didn’t get it. That show was way ahead of its time.
  20. Oh come on ... Now Duluth gets a bye before they play tomorrow. Meanwhile, North Dakota (the #1 overall seed) has to skate tonight. I know we have to accept some inequities just to have college sports this year, but this is frustrating.
  21. The Dolphins haul for Laremy Tunsil was incredible. That’s at least four 1st round picks.
  22. I don’t think I understand how Reddit works. Is it like a giant message board for every topic? I seem to have a hard time navigating the site after I’m directed there following an internet search.
  23. Those are pretty much my thoughts, as well.
  24. Here are my Frozen Four picks: Duluth over North Dakota * Wisconsin over UMass Minnesota State over Minnesota Boston College over St. Cloud State * Duluth is just magical in the NCAAs. They haven’t won a conference title since the 80s, but have won 3 of the last 10 national championships. It’s a tough draw for North Dakota (assuming they both win their opening round games) and Duluth will have an extra 5 hours of rest. Side Note: They should have played an 8-team tourney in a bubble. I’m worried COVID will cut short a deserving team’s season (I don’t count Notre Dame as deserving - they were 14-13-2).
  25. That’s huge for #2 overall seed Boston College. They get to rest until the regional final while St Cloud and BU battle it out.
