  1. I think people are way to high on Hiura. I'm not looking at the advanced metrics, but I'd take the Scooter Gennett of the past couple years over the prospect of Hiura. I've always liked Scooter and I can see Hiura as a disaster in the field. People seem to want to forget the defensive side of the ball on Hiura, but love to bash Braun on his defensive issues especially at 3rd base. I've always liked Sxcooter and didn't think he was given enough of a fair shot. Bring this thread back in 2 or 3 years and I'll still stand by my thoughts.
  2. My daughter is extremely allergic to dogs and cats where it sets off an asthma situation for her. She can rub up against another persons jacket with her bare arm that has dog dander on it and within minutes break out. It would be similar to people with peanut allergies if there was peanut dust dispersed in the air.
  3. My 6th grader needs a lot of help to keep her average or slightly above average at school through the previous years at an elementary school. I go to the conferences and multiple teachers tell my wife and I that "studies show that homework doesn't really help" when I asked about bringing work home to study for tests. My studies have shown if my daughter doesn't bring work home to study she doesn't do well on tests. I have asked many times for work home and only a few teachers have sent anything.
  4. It's human nature for people to complain. Mom and Pop stores need to have quality and service to compete. Many of us realize that is what were paying for. Its like going to the neighborhood hardware store, and complaining to prices are higher than Home Depot. Yet, they don't realize when a question the customer asks is to a qualified employee at a neighborhood store or a 16 year old kid at Home Depot. Who are you going to trust.
  5. You have to admit, where you are teaching now in Cedarburg can't really have a better family structure environment, and better support from parents.
  6. The Milwaukee Does will make a comeback. I wonder who owns the name.
  7. IDK, this line of argument isn't quite right especially in such a condescending tone. They're paid for the year like any base salary. Just so happens you don't haaaaave to work for several weeks in a row. I know many do summer school and other stuff to supplement. It's really just a semantics thing and no reason to call anyone ignorant over it. Take X amount of money and pay it over 12 months or over 10 months, doesn't matter. You're paid the same. One could just as easily argue back that due to that long stretch of time off it allows to add other income whereas one who doesn't have that long stretch off can't. My contract for this year runs from July 31-May 24. It is not a full year job. I am paid for the ~42 weeks of the school year annually. I like my summer for travel. But the argument that we are paid for the entire year is ignorant. Many teachers voluntarily give their districts interest-free loans and get that money back in the summer. I chose the option of taking my pay during my contracted period. Are you contacted or an employee? Can you claim unemployment benefits for the summer?

  9. I'm waiting for a Darth Hader Star Wars bobble.
  10. For the record the Brewers celebrated their 25th anniversary in 1994. They celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2010. Who knows when they will celebrate the 50th.
  11. Portland, Oregon just agreed last month to build an MLB stadium so it looks like the Rays are heading west. Smart move. Try and get out of the division with the Red Sox and Yankees.
  12. I plan on my home and my life insurance policies as inheritance for my children. Those along with my wife and I pushing for their education should be enough for them if we spend most of our retirement income.
  13. 1986..Having Teddy Higuera in the rotation with Tim Leary, Bill Wegman, Juan Nieves, and Chris Bosio coming up.
  14. I would agree if it weren’t for the tape. He did that much damage with his friends restraining him. What would he have done without them there? Ray Rice knocked his fiancé in a confined space in the elevator. This woman in the Kareem Hunt video came after Hunt. Hunt pushed the man away which knocked the woman into the wall. The kick at the end was what looked the worst. The woman was kicked out of Hunts hotel room, and she apparently wouldn't go away. The police didn't think there was enough evidence to even charge Hunt. He's too young and too talented for a team not to take a chance on him. I don't condone what he did, but I don't think it was as bad a Ray Rice.
  15. I think Kareem Hunt will get a second chance. He's young and has talent.
  16. Lovely. Basically a home game for Stanford. Before this last comment I would have had no clue where Levi’s Stadium for the Redbox Bowl would even be located.
  17. I think the 50 million from the digital agreement went to Maryvale being rebuilt.
  18. Personally, I think the clubhouse sale has been getting worse and worse each year. I'm probably not making the drive down. I wouldn't think based on previous years that the playoff gear will be there. Next year, maybe.
  19. Bruce Bochy? Really? What has Bochy done without top of the rotation starters. He's had in his run Kevin Brown, Matt Cain, Tim Lincecum, Barry Zito, Madison Bumgarner, Tim Hudson, Jake Peavy, Johnny Cueto. Maybe not all, but most were at the prime of their careers, All, were accomplished enough to know what it takes to get it done. I'll give you Tony LaRussa. I always admired how he could run a bullpen, but I don't think he could have done it much if any better than Counsell. I think Counsell was phenomenal with what he had to work with. I don't think you give him as much credit as I apparently do. I don't think Jeffress what as horrible as you think in the playoffs. I was at some of the games. Yes, he, walked a couple of guys that killed him. The homer that barely scraped over the wall killed him. Most of the hits against him were off the end of the bat lazy loopers that found a hole.
  20. I get all the Packers games through the antenna. Anyone know why tonight it says no signal on the FOX station?
  21. Who is the Moe Berg of the team?
  22. Lets face it. It not easy to win the World Series, but I'll take my chances with the highest payroll. Dombrowski's payroll was 25 million more than the next team this year. When he was with the Tigers ownership was on death's door, and he had the approval to spend. With the Marlins he had the ability to spend there also. If he would have taken teams like the Padres or Royals to the World Series I'd give him much more credit.
  23. Gurley with fantastic football IQ. He scores there and a missed extra point gives the Packers a chance.
  24. Pro sports teams aren't real unions anyways. Each player negotiates his own contact.
  25. Whoever mentioned a will...you don't want to wait until you retire to get one. Whenever one has children a will should be made to at least outline where any surviving children would live with.
