  1. The only reason so many Brewers are at the top of the list is because of the people who turn in thousands of ballots at Miller Park for a chance at the drawings. I don't even bother voting, because what's my couple of votes/one ticket for the prize drawing compared to thousands of votes/hundreds of raffle tickets for the drawings. That said, I would hate to see Casey miss the All-Star game at this point.
  2. 2 Terrace Reserved Tickets to this Saturday's game vs. the Mets. Section 427 row 11. Looking to recoup my cost of $6 per ticket. I can meet at the game tomorrow (Friday) night or sometime on Saturday. Call/text at 262-893-0904 if interested. (I may not be able to log on and check my PMs before the game, so please contact me by phone.)
  3. Agree with the stubhub comment - it makes things very easy for people who sell a lot of tickets and don't have the time to or don't want to dink around. There are lots of fees though, so there are definitely cheaper options for both the buyer and the seller. I don't sell tickets on ebay anymore, because from my experience tickets go for much, much lower on there - for buyers, it's probably a good move. Other than that, I sell tickets enough that I don't even bother taking the time to check anywhere else. And when I need to buy tickets, I generally just wait and buy tickets from scalpers or random people on the street if the box office is sold out or too expensive - I like the flexibility of basically being able to decide on game day if I want to go, and of getting cheap tickets if I arrive late.
  4. for anyone who wants cheaper seats than what the brewers are offering, it looks like prices on stubhub are really low too....... all sorts of terrace and standing room tix listed in the $30's
  5. Anyone have any Grapefruit League info they could share? I'll be in Ft. Myers next week for spring break, and being a Brewers fan I only just realized that the Twins and Red Sox play in Fort Myers..... I'm guessing Red Sox tickets are harder to get just because they're more popular.... but does anyone have any tips at all?
  6. I'm looking to sell about another 5 or 10 games of my season tickets as a package. The price is my season ticket price, $6 per ticket (face value is $15 each). I have two tickets per game and they are in Section 427 Row 11. The only caveat is that at least 5 of the games bought have to be weekday afternoon games. The rest would be evenly picked (you tell me which games you want and I "OK" them as long they're evenly spread out - by opponent, weekend vs weeknight, etc. - OR we go through all games alternating picks, like a draft.... first option is easier if games are picked fairly.) If you have any interest at all, email me at nabauman@wisc.edu. I may be open to negotiation if you want more than 10 games or if 5 weekday afternoon games is an issue. Some of my games are already gone to people who've bought packages of games from me already. Here is what I have available: April Wed 4/7, 12:10pm vs. Colorado Wed 4/28, 12:10pm vs. Pittsburgh May Wed 5/12, 12:10pm vs. Atlanta Tue 5/25, 7:10pm vs. Houston Thur 5/27, 12:10pm vs. Houston Sat 5/29, 6:10pm vs. New York Mets June Fri 6/11, 7:10pm vs. Texas Sat 6/12, 6:10pm vs. Texas Fri 6/25, 7:10pm vs. Seattle Wed 6/30, 1:10pm vs. Houston July Wed 7/7, 7:10pm vs. San Francisco Fri 7/9, 7:10pm vs. Pittsburgh Fri 7/23, 7:10pm vs. Washington Wed 7/28, 1:10pm vs. Cincinnati August Fri 8/6, 7:10pm vs. Houston Sat 8/7, 6:10pm vs. Houston Wed 8/11, 7:10pm vs. Arizona Thur 8/12, 1:10pm vs. Arizona Fri 8/20, 7:10pm vs. San Diego Sat 8/21, 6:10pm vs. San Diego Thur 8/26, 1:10pm vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Fri 8/27, 7:10pm vs. Pittsburgh September Mon 9/6, 1:10pm vs. St Louis Fri 9/10, 7:10pm vs. Chicago Cubs Mon 9/20, 7:10pm vs. Cincinnati Tue 9/21, 7:10pm vs. Cincinnati
  7. As I mentioned in other thread, those tickets they're saving for season tickets might be released later (if they're not bought between now and the start of the season).
  8. They might just be holding some tickets for season ticket packages. They may release those tickets closer to the start of the season if not enough people buy season tix between now and then.
  9. For me this is shorts weather. My rule is I wear shorts when the local high is 45 or higher. My only other similar clothing "rule" is that I am going to wear Brewers apparell every day we have a game. Started a week ago Thursday and I'm gonna keep it going as long as possible.
  10. I used something called MusicRescue to take music from my ipod to my computer. You may have to enter your password again to play your Itunes-downloaded songs on your second computer. I'm sure this also counts against your Itunes 5-computer limit.
  11. If the Brewers did the adjusted pricing thing, sure they'd make more on some of the popular games, but they'd also lose on a lot of games. In years like 2008, it wouldn't matter - the good would far outweight the bad. But for weeknights, sometimes it's a struggle to get $5 each for my terrace tickets - tickets for a lot of the weeknight games are worth nowehere near the face value of the ticket. Also, last year a lot of marquee games even sold for less than the marquee face value for that game. (People were getting rid of loge level tickets to one of the White Sox games for $5-$10 each.) On top of all this, it seems as though pricing season tickets would become more confusing under the fluctuating pricing... So is that article suggesting that the Brewers can't really do much about sellers outside of the zone now? That article makes it sound like it's a Brewers rule, but that it's not technically illegal to sell tickets outside of the zone. I also wonder about the issue of selling over face value....
  12. I will offer almost the same info I did last year for trying to get Opening Day tickets, for anyone who may be looking: 1) Prices on stubhub aren't that bad. I haven't really looked at ebay or craigslist, but Stubhub had tickets starting at about $45-$50 each for terrace. Some of the better seats are going for over marquee face value but not by completely absurd amounts. 2) The Brewers will probably auction off the Uecker seats. It is usually a Dutch auction. Last year they sold 20 single tickets and 43 sets of 2. You just entered your max bid and the number of singles or pairs you would like to buy. They've done this the past couple of years. 3) Two years ago they let everyone who entered the lottery buy any singles/OV that were left the day before the game through an online sale. So if you entered the lottery that is another option for you, although the system will of course probably be overloaded if they do it this year. (Last year, they didn't even have enough tickets to offer through this, so who knows if this will happen this year.) 4) Also, for some reason, tickets could become available that day at the ticket windows. While it's a long shot, it never hurts to check. 5) Tickets in the scalpers' area skyrocketed at gametime last year. Someone I know got a single terrace ticket an hour before the game for $60; within a half hour of the game the same ticket was going for about $100. That said, there are more cheap tickets available now than there were at this time last year; my guess is that you'll find a good deal by waiting till game day. You may also find a random person in the resale zone reselling for a decent price - to do this, pay very close attention, though, because if anyone is selling tickets cheap the scalpers will be on them immediately. 6) Show up on gameday and, instead of buying in the resale area, find a drunk tailgater who wants to stay outside and party and who will sell you their ticket(s) for some absurdly cheap price. With more than one person that may not be so easy to do, though. All in all, I'd wait till game day to buy tickets. That's just me though. If you want to enjoy tailgating and not worry about tickets, then by all means buy ahead of time.
  13. 421 row 20 is actually great... high up but almost directly behind the plate..... it could've been a lot worse.
  14. This hardly seems much different than charging a marquee price for higher demand games to me. The Cubs are basically saying that their high-income fans are more privileged than the average Cubs fan. Not only do wealthy fans get to sit in the more expensive seats, they now have the honor of buying tickets ahead of people who are struggling financially and looking to save money. Isn't that basically what capitalism is to begin with? Buying tickets early is not about being wealthy - it's about who's willing to invest more in the team (highly correlated, but there is a difference). On top of that, for people buying the cheapest seats, that's an extra $4 per ticket, maybe $5 once you count fees. A family of four would cost roughly probably $125 to take instead of $105. After you factor in other expenses for going to the game (parking/subway, concessions, etc.) you maybe have $175 instead of $155. Not a huge difference. Besides, anyone really looking to go on a tight budget can still buy the SRO tickets on gameday for $15 each without any fees - I once went to a packed Saturday afternoon game on a whim in about the 4th inning and still got SRO tickets, so I doubt those hardly ever sell out (largely because they only sell them on gamedays).
  15. I'm interested in a Jennings bobble for trade as well, or possibly for cash if I need to buy it.
  16. I think it's always said "Players willl sign photo cards" in the past. But this is something that doesn't really surpirse me as the Brewers are one of the only teams that did this regularly....
  17. with any luck, they finish the season strong and go deep in the big ten tourney and you get both.... Badgers at the BC and a high seed
  18. Anyone have an idea if Prince or CC will sign TTM if I send stuff to spring training for them? If so, what's the best way to send 8x10s through the mail - just in a toploader in a padded envelope (obviously with another SASE padded envelope with it)?
  19. 7:05pm is currently the listed start time.... it's gotta be a Sunday Night game cuz that's the standard start time for Sunday Night Baseball. If it wasn't a Sunday Night game, not only would it be in the afternoon but it would also start at :10 after the hour. So it'll be a 7:05 start on ESPN.
  20. Hoffman may or may not personalize though. I've seen him both personalize and not personalize, although I've never gotten him at a formal signing. A very nice guy and a good signer in general though.
  21. The student section has been ranked as the best in the country a few times recently. I think this is definitely debatable, but I'd say we are up there- especially for the big games. I have always thought Marquette has a better student section than UW. Maybe that's just me though. They just seem so much more into it all the time, including for the crappy nonconference games. Although I haven't been to many Marquette games the past few years so maybe that's changed.
  22. The mere fact that one team is traveling and that one team is sleeping in its own beds could also have something to do with it. Maybe it's not an especially intense atmosphere, but as long as UW keeps winning at home, they will still have an apparent home court advantage that could play mental games. Other teams may not feel as confident about winning there, and the Badgers may feel more confident just because it's "hyped up" that the Badgers don't lose at the Kohl Center. Just to add, I think this win also had a lot to do with the loss to MSU. Good teams bounce back after a tough game, and that's exactly what the Badgers did this week.
  23. Easy to say after a career game for him. With the lack of depth we will likely have at guard, we could be hurting in some games. Think of it this way. He's a backup guard, so it was the performance of a backup guard that really gave us an extra boost we needed today. It will be a lot harder to get that next year once Hughes and J-Bo are gone and Taylor is starting. All the more reason that this is the year for a deep tourney run! We've proven we can play with anybody, at least at home.
  24. 2 wins over top 5 teams, right? Wasn't Duke #5 when we beat them?
  25. ok, thanks for the tips
