    i think that texas, detroit, and baltimore might get into a bit of a bidding war for greinke or hamels and will give a bit more then everyone thinks. the o's are competitive for the first time in years. detroit have a must win attitude and some wins to make up to catch the white sox. the rangers need the title after getting so close the last couple years.

    Rumor was Gould for Carlos and there was also talk of la starting the talks with zack Lee and Gould for lowrie. Maybe the crew could get something like Jerry sands and zack lee for hart.

    That is rediculous that he didn't make it. Lance Lynn has been great but he doesn't deserve it over greinke. I don't think strasburg does either for that matter

    Dodgers don't really have the prospects id think the brewers are looking for in a big deal. I'm sure they could match up for hart or k-rod though.

    if the astros get zack lee and gould for carlos lee- we should get machado and bundy for greinke.

    I think with the extra wild card there will be more trades actually. More teams will think they have a good chance at making the playoffs and will be buyers.

    Having an ace is great but I don't think 5 #2s is all that bad.

    I was reading through the comments on mlbtr.com and some red sox fans want them to trade greinke for buchholz/bard/iglesias even though they say that would be overpaying. I don't like this at all but this seems like a melvin move.

    Castellanos was also a shortstop in high school. I'm sure he cant play it now but maybe with some work?

    i really doubt turner would be moved but castellanos could be very possible (fwiw- i think hes the best way to forget about lawrie). as far as texas goes, i dont think perez or olt would be the best we could do by themselves but adding someone like barret loux could make it a great deal. the angels gm has already said he wont be upgradeing the team by adding any payroll(take that for what you will)

    I hope with a good return for greinke most fans will stop complaining about giving up lawrie for marcum.

    i think the brewers have 248,400 plus the slot recomendations for magnifico and rivera. if they sign those two for slot or below they can give farmer $348,400. they also can go over by a little without penalty. anything over 100k for farmer goes against the allotted money for picks from the 1-10 rounds. i might be wrong though.

    yea- if they trade greinke, signing him this offseason is pretty much 0%. if they dont trade him probably 10%. i cant see him getting resigned. i'd bet on some team like miami/washington/toronto/baltimore signing him this winter.

    I'd be disappointed if farmer doesn't sign. With how much they've gone under slot with other guys they could give him 3rd or 4th rd money.

    Nicky C will be the next longoria or Zimmerman - watch. It'd be nice if he could do it for the crew.

    looks like they went for signability for 28 and 38. you think thats why they passed on tanner rahier? i was really hoping they would pick him up.

    Monday is round 1 and supplemental. Tuesday is 2-15. Wednesday 16-40.

    What do you guys think would be a realistic best case scenario with the first 3 picks? While I agree with the whole "you can never have too much pitching" thing I really think position players is the way to go. I would be stoked with Gallo/trahan/rahier.
