You get hours per week allotted in franchise mode and have to figure out how many to spend begging boosters for money.

They weren't going to win a championship with Jrue Holiday. The fact is that they needed someone like Lillard to get a bucket when teams clog the paint with good defenders in the playoffs. We've seen what happens when the only path is Giannis barreling in on every possession. Middleton can no longer be counted on and Pat Connaughton/Bobby Portis isn't that guy. Jrue Holiday wasn't the problem (although his too frequent 6-of-22 nights were), but he is the only asset they had that would have brought something like Lillard back. I think every Bucks fan knew they were going to miss Holiday and everyone would have preferred sending Middleton off for that kind of ROI, but it was never going to happen. It was either run it back and know they aren't going to win, or change course with another superstar offensive player and see if it helps. I think the jury is still out. I think it's likely they flame out, but being the NBA I would still wait and see what happens when everyone turns on another gear in the playoffs. We haven't gotten what he needed to get out of Dame, but I think the trade had to happen. There had to be a shift, whether it works or not isn't relevant to me because I know they weren't going to do it with Holiday.

Didn't get a chance to post it and I understand it's insane, but if I were SF I would have gone for it on the last 4th down. I just don't give the ball to Maholmes.

I feel like they've given Maholmes too many shots and are about to pay for it.

I think the commercial thing is pretty dead. A bunch of them leak ahead of time all over social.

Can't pay relievers $100m then get upset when they make self preservation decisions to get their $100m, especially when they are a) the best and b) listened to their team say saves are what are matters to save a few bucks on their arbitration contract. I don't see anything wrong with what he did or said. It all comes back to the fact that this league is broken when most teams have to do what the Brewers do and Houstons of the league can do whatever because they simply just can. If anything I appreciate his candidness. Both sides protected their best interests. The league is terribly structured. That's all there is to it.

I wasn't suggesting Giannis isn't playing well, just that he's at the age where is not likely to get any better and the slide is going to start sooner than later. And he knows this, so there's not a lot of patience left. He is most likely a lot to blame for where they are right now, but it's a player-driven league and he knows that his best chance at a championship is now. So the exit seed is likely in his head.

I don't think this recent stretch is concerning on its own, a bunch of tough road games in a time of upheaval and injury, but it's just hard to feel good about anything that's happened this year. There's time to figure it out but it's hard to shake the vibe that this is just an old team with its superstar teetering on the beginning of the end. There's always that team that's hovering around contention but everyone knows they aren't really good enough. I think that is what we have now and it feels like they're a year or two out from Giannis asking out and a blowup.

I'd rather the Bucks show up as a 3rd or 4th than #1 and get worked again. They'll be in the playoffs. All that matters is they figure out some defense between now and May.

I like it a lot. He's got a ton of experience but is still a young up and coming coach and we avoided getting some retread name like Doc Rivers.

50/50, but I think that's still part of the reason I kick it. I don't think the 21 points is that much greater than 17. If he misses, it shouldn't be the end of the world either...but the odds he makes it are at least OK and I think the 3-possession lead is important enough to kick. Now if we were up by 3, I'm going for it. Like I said though...I don't think it's this end of the world, brain-dead decision people are pretending it is. They should have won the game regardless. Just still hard to look past what a tide-turning point in the game it was.

The first field goal he didn't kick was from the 28. Their guy is not strong legged, but I still kick that one to regain a 3 possession lead, on the road in the second half. I don't think it's an absolutely crazy decision but I definitely would have kicked it. I would have made the same call he did on the second one. I don't think a FG does much of anything for you in that situation. So you tie the game and give the ball back to SF, who you haven't stopped once all half. If you do convert and go up 4, there's maybe a chance you keep them out of the end zone and they settle for 3 or you get the ball back by way of a fumble or whatever and you're ahead. It forces them to remain aggressive though because they're losing. Higher chance of mistake, and less comfort in running those 7 minutes off when there's no guarantee of getting a touchdown. It keeps the pressure on them. So I totally get that call.

I don't think so either. Mainly because I think GB is about to sit on the throne again for most of the next decade.

There was a quicksand feeling immediately after the failed 4th down conversion though. One thing after another. There's a completely different feeling in the air if they go back up 17 and a commercial break vs. a 4th down stop and the crowd roaring again. Nobody knows how that changes the sequences after obviously, but having that 3 points may have influenced the second decision to go for it too. It was a huge moment in the game and a decision that just didn't make a lot of sense.

It's a no brainer to pull for KC. Mahomes is likely to end up as the best to ever play QB. There's no harm in him winning it again. SF? Puke.

Having to use that timeout is just a killer though. I don't think you can let that happen.

The first one was egregious. The second one not nearly as bad. Was a long FG and the way things were trending I think the Lions had to get 7 and retake a lead. Just tying the game with 7 minutes left, IF you make the kick, IDK. I definitely understood that call. Didn't understand the first one at all.

I'm still not sure what outcome I want. I think ultimately a divisional team winning the conference is bad. But I do not like SF, the fans or this team, at all.

Yeah I did not get that call. I always kick the FG if it extends the lead a possession or takes you from 5 pts to 8pts up or something. The benefit of going up 21 instead of 17 just isn't worth it.
