  1. Yeah, that makes much more sense. Traveling twice for a 3 gamer would be silly. Kind of a bummer though, it would be nice to be guaranteed one home playoff game atmosphere.
  2. Not really. I want to be able to see a game if I can and some of us have to plan around that.
  3. Not to get ahead of myself but does anyone know the WC format? Is it 1-1-1? I have a wedding next weekend and I'm wondering if our home game would be Saturday, or do we have to force Game 3 to get home?
  4. Pretty hard not to feel good about things right now. A long way to go in this one but we have the rotation at full strength to make a last push here. And would you want to play the Brewers in a best of 3 with their starters?
  5. IMO people put way too much weight on the matchups this late in the season. It barely matters. Baseball is completely unpredictable with a sample size like a single series and the lineups are often full of guys nobody has pitched against trying to audition as MLB players. Anything can happen. I wouldn't feel any safer playing the Marlins or the Dodgers the final week of the regular season.
  6. I won't pull what's left of my hair out if the Brewers do lose, if the Cubs hang on. It's pretty likely there are losses left on the schedule. If we're going to lose, let's do it when they also lose. As nice as it would be to see us take that spot, we only need to be there on the last day.
  7. This is still very much alive. a 6-2 finish and a 4-5 from Philly would get the Brewers in. Less likely than likely, but it's not in another galaxy yet or anything. Assuming we don't go on a 7-game skid right now, we should have a pretty good idea of the chances on Saturday when Phillies plays their doubleheader and is caught up on the number of games. I'd think we have to be 1 back by then. Tied going into the final 3 games. Hoping for better, but my random feeling has been all along that if we do take the spot it will be on the last day.
  8. Good lord, if we finally just killed off all the "owners are pretending they can't pay players" posts tomorrow, it wouldn't be fast enough.
  9. IMO, about 5 of those teams are clearly superior this year. I thought we were a bubble team for most of the season. Padres, without some of their injuries, would be even more comfortably ahead. Even if the Brewers make it, I do not think they have a team like 2011, 2018 or even 2019 or 2021. IMO, last season was more of a missed opportunity than this one, just having a bad week against an ATL team they were good enough to play with. It's baseball though. Anything can happen.

  11. I am content with the season. Maybe not the right word, but, they are not that good. It doesn't feel like a missed opportunity to me. I don't think they are better than any of the 6 ahead of them. If they get in, someone blew it, basically. We are not bad, but not what I'd call good.

  13. Philly is not playing well though. 10 games is enough to blow this. I'd think the Brewers have to go 7-2 though. Opponent quality matters least of all in baseball. The bad teams left on the schedules are probably more energized honestly at the end of the year when they have a chance to impact results. That's more exciting than slogging through July 20 games under .500.

  15. You're overthinking it. It's a road win against a quality opponent and September. No one will be the same in January. Just win the games, the style points don't matter.
  16. Not a huge college football fan but I think this is less about UW and more about the gap that has expanded in CFB over the last 8 years or so. CFB has a wealth distribution issue that has gotten noticeably worse in the very recent past. The Alabama, OSU, Clemson circuit has just widened the gap significantly to the point that they are essentially a separate league from the rest.
  17. If you are a D1 QB on a schollie you have talent. But he is not a good QB at this level. He's bad. Time to cut their losses.
  18. I'm not a Badgers fan really so I tend to see them unemotionally. I figured this game would be another 56-0 affair. They got caught with their pants down on Mertz. He's not good at all and they didn't have a contingency plan. Solid line play, which has also been their stalwart, appears lacking as well.
  19. Were you guys expecting anything else? This had 66-3 written all over it.
  20. Good grief you guys. It's in no way exclusive to this game, but it does always shock me how many NFL players I see attempt to make tackles at the shoulders. Just amazes me.
  21. Truly hope for Watson's sake that wasn't his fault.
  22. Pound this in and this one's all but over.
  23. The timeout analysis has been done and the Packers do indeed waste them more than most teams. They are also very ineffective on the play following a timeout.
