  1. I don't think his wanting to be here matters one bit. It's in his best interests to play as well as he can. He is probably most frustrated at exactly this lack of power he has.
  2. I'm pretty sure the joke is that Rodgers hasn't "told" anyone anything.
  3. Nobody verifies their information anymore, that train has left the station. In the rush to be first, this is what you get. When you were informing a reader holding a paper, being accurate was important, now you just need to be engaging enough that someone clicks through to read a vapid blurb. So yeah, you can blame him, but there would be 20 guys in line doing the same thing. Would have taken Aaron 10 seconds to extinguish this, but I guess hiking in Kauai with Miles Teller was too time-consuming.
  4. I don't blame the reporters. Rodgers probably leaked all this stuff. I fully expect him to show up to camp and blow it off like it was no big deal, acting like he didn't play a major role in the flames blazing out of control.
  5. I never thought for a millisecond he would retire.
  6. What was the point? Letting people know he is mad, putting an imaginary chip on his shoulder, and weakening the blow for the fans when he leaves.
  7. It's ridiculous that this is true this early in the contract. What a giant whiff.
  8. If his plan is to fade into the sunset, that's an entirely different story. If it's to keep whining and reunite with Adams in Minnesota (I know he has limited control over this, just saying), go pound sand. I'll admit that Rodgers had me fooled. Not the last couple years, but originally I thought he was a completely different guy than he turned out to be. Not an evil human being, but a self absorbed pain in the butt. The juxtaposition with Giannis right now isn't helping. Team Rodgers or Team Love? Eh, team Giannis, lol. The grudge stuff is bigger than the normal athlete motivation. It's like a personality disorder and it's going to disrupt what is legitimately his best chance at winning a second title. I personally think he's just ready to blame anyone in the cross hairs preemptively because he hasn't been back to the Super Bowl. He has no argument when it comes to Gute. Gute is the reason he's even close.
  9. I think he's going to show up to camp and he will likely get a hero's welcome as most people rejoice that our God is back. Then he's out after the season. If that's his plan, I'd rather just not have him play for us this year. Unpopular opinion, but I don't even want to see him win a Super Bowl in that scenario.
  10. I don't really know if Gute is bad with people. It's speculative. I would suggest that being unable to smooth any of this over with Rodgers over months of time, and now the relationship with Adams being in "a bad place", followed by Zadarius discussing his need to get a realtor, is a pretty good indication that Gute is not managing this crisis very effectively. Is it possible to smooth things over with Rodgers? History would suggest it is not. He doesn't talk to his mom.
  11. I assume Adams seemingly leaping on board with leaving GB after this season. Adams is certainly entitled to his cash, but if Rodgers is really done in GB then not tying up cash in Adams is probably equal parts good and bad. As an aside I'm not buying this "Gute is bad with people" routine. Gute is doing his job and a petulant baby doesn't like that he planned for the future. They need to tread carefully with Adams too, but he at least has a legitimate gripe if he wants to be the highest paid WR. His is a business issue and it's fine. It happens. Plenty of guys on the roster love GB. Roll with those guys and let Rodgers pound sand.
  12. I'd love it if he didn't show up. Even at the probable chance Love has a rough year and they are terrible. The slight chance of them being marginally successful without Rodgers would just be delicious to see unfold.
  13. Nope, but I'm hoping they keep it up long enough to force LAD into a wild card game. Not that the Giants are some cakewalk, but let's just get rid of LA.
  14. From a long term team building standpoint, my preference would be to trade him for whatever the Packers can get. From a personal satisfaction standpoint I hope he takes his ball & goes home like the petulant child he is. He has no legitimate gripe as far as I'm concerned. They offered him the cash, the front office put the most talented roster/staff around him in at least a decade. He doesn't want to be here but can't and won't state the real reason because he knows it will be wildly unpopular and destroy his reputation.
  15. Then he should come out say what's so terrible about Green Bay. Stop calling his future a beautiful mystery, stop posting cryptic crap to social media, stop leaking just.enough so that the world knows you're upset, but doesn't know why. He's a diva. He doesn't have to say anything publicly to be a whiner. There are a million stories.out there at this point about him "feeling wronged" by different folks and he handles it like a big baby. Where there's smoke there's fire. Now he and Adams are both being mysterious and cryptic together. They can both go honestly. I'm fine with winning 4 games for a few years if that's what it comes too. I know a lot of people aren't and I understand that. I just find him so unlikeable that I really don't care what he does. I kinda feel like this ending was inevitable for Rodgers. He was always going to find some thing to get ticked off about. And if this is about roster control it literally makes no sense. They have a championship roster, so shut up and go win it. Like you had the chance to do last year and did nothing with 3 turnovers. Tbh, the longer this goes the less I think it has anything to do with the FO and is about him wanting to be somewhere that sets up his post-football career in TV and film. He's absolutely never going to say that if it's the case though.
  16. Rodgers is not going to come around on the Packers. He won't come around on Greg Jennings, he won't come around on his own parents. When he does finish whining his way out of Green Bay, I have zero doubts he will do everything he can to set the franchise up for failure, whether that's telling Adams he's 100% out or telling anyone that will listen how mean their front office is. Of course, publicly he will remain mysterious or say sweet nothings about the fans and community. How can he sabotage them? Who knows, maybe not much, but he can still try. I'm more surprised anyone has any doubts about how petty of a person he is. People have been saying this stuff about him for a 15 years, now the fans are finally getting to see it.
  17. That's why they should pay him now before they aren't paying Rodgers. Although I feel 200% certain that Rodgers has told him he absolutely won't be there in 2022 and will do everything in his power to sabotage the team after his year.
  18. His age is getting a bit too much play here IMO. He's 29 at FA, and he's not some barnburner with a 4.2 40 that relies on blowing past people. He's really a possession WR that runs crisp routes, and there are have been plenty of those guys still going strong around their mid 30s. Any contract they give him will give them an out probably around 32 or 33. I like what they have at WR, but they are going to be in a lot of trouble there if he walks. They should do what they reasonably can to keep him regardless of who the QB is. He was the same player with Brett Hundley.
  19. One of the reasons I'd pick the Bucks is because of the league. It is the "easiest" league to win multiple titles in of the major 3 sports. You're all but assured a playoff spot and generally we know that one of 5 teams is going to win the title.
  20. Sometimes the obvious choice is the right choice but you can count on an ad agency to mess it up by trying to re-invent the wheel. Spiders are cool and the majority of people have liked it. You could done have some cool play on webbing of the glove or something. There's always the contrarian that says it's dumb, or that the barley M was better than the ball and glove. But sometimes doing the corny thing and just taking what's been put in front of you is the right call. This is a stupid name and a stupid logo. Everyone adjusts given time. But that logo in particular is dreadful.
  21. He missed two games against Atlanta and early New Orleans who was 1-2 at the time. I don't think that's even part of the discussion or thought process in extending him and it shouldn't be. He is probably the best WR in the league.
  22. I can see a side where, if the franchise is moving on from Rodgers this season or next as it's looking like, sinking tons of money in a wide receiver approaching his 30's might not be the best use of resources. I love Davante, I want him signed, but I can also see a soft rebuild as a possibility. Maybe they franchise tag him and trade him, or tag him and play him. I guess what I'm saying is I'm not going to overreact to the possibility of losing him. I hinted at this a couple pages back. I could go either way on it, since the new QB could use Adams, and he's not really super dependent on speed or something that diminishes with age. He's more of a technician that has a chance to be really good well into his 30s. Honestly though, the Packers have just kind of fatigued me. A decade of "almost" will do that. It's not working, you can blame who you want, but they can't finish. Change of the guard may be necessary at this point.
  23. I agree, and Guardians is awful. They're going to be mocked with a lot of galactic/space memes.
  24. I honestly didn't know he was still playing. And he is still quite good apparently.
  25. I don't find it all that embarrassing. Illinois has the same thing going on with the Pacers leaking into southeast Illinois and southwest Ohio. They're not very densely populated areas and have a lot of people who are from the other state. Plus, I'm sure a good amount of people in that neck of the woods do their big nights out in Minneapolis, not Milwaukee. The NBA has always been a league driven mostly by major metros. The area I vacation in almost every summer in South Jersey, you can't find any sign of Jersey sports there. It's Philly everything, in every sport too.
