  1. It's probably the same but we have constantly changing nitpicky rules, 25 replays of every miscue and they all make the rounds on Twitter to be seen over and over by more people.
  2. He isn't that good. He never has been, people have been assuming he'll be good when healthy based on draft status. He's an OK second corner at this point, when healthy, which is almost never. Alexander is the clearly superior player. They've had much worse players back there and he's probably passable if we are getting to the QB, but I think at this point we can say he's an average player.
  3. He had 180 yards against the Eagles and while he did get hurt late, they lost with a bobble INT at the goal line. Hard to assume a win if he doesn't get hurt, especially when a TD would have tied it.
  4. I don't think this claim is any less of reactionary, incorrect hyperbole than it was yesterday..... The "three-loss" Badger team that played in the Pinstripe Bowl last year actually was 7-5. The Pinstripe Bowl is the 7th-ranked Big Ten Bowl. If you think there are 6 Big Ten teams that will be better than Wisconsin at the end of the year, I think your thinking is incorrect. It was hyperbole, and a half joke. But they lost 3 games from 14-16 and were in the Outback/Cap One for what seemed like 20 years. I was just saying that I watched them struggle with a Northwestern team while Ohio State put 50 on them. They're not on their level, which is what a lot of people started to think they were. Of course, in true WI fashion, they'll probably beat them now and lose to Nebraska. You can almost always pencil the Badgers in for losing a stupid game like that every year. It's the kind of thing that has prevented the program from taking that next step. They're not a top tier program and sit at the top of the tier just below it. Obviously, they are at a bunch of recruiting and financing and ethics disadvantages, but it's still true.
  5. A very Badgers thing to do would be defeat Ohio State and lose to Iowa. Before that game went south, I felt very convinced the Buckeyes would roll the Badgers. I think the Badgers are the same 3-loss, Pinstripe Bowl team they almost always are.
  6. Despite his mediocre stats Rodgers is really playing well, my concerns earlier in the season that the collarbone injury has turned him into a high end game manager appears to have been wrong. He needs some more weapons though, I feel like Gutes blew it a bit going with the young receivers, we really need Adams back. I will be at the game, I am on I think a 7 game winning streak on games attended going back to the Super Bowl so hoping to keep it going. I am beginning to think that Rodgers has consciously changed his game. Perhaps reading too much into his postgame comments last week, but he basically seemed to be saying "My role has changed." He had another remark the week earlier about "I've put up enough stats, I want to win now." He is a smart guy. Maybe he has realized if he plays well enough to move the chains and never gives up the ball, the defense is good enough that they'll win most of the time, and he is still good enough to be a hero if required.
  7. I don't think they care if it has been a century. They mostly care about not getting fired. And they make rash decisions every year. Their Ivy League pedigrees don't make them immune to that.
  8. These closer choke jobs bode well for someone buying high on Hader.
  9. I haven't really had a single game on the schedule I thought the Packers would lose. I didn't think they would start the season 6-0, but there wasn't one that stood out to me as a very likely loss. San Francisco would seem to to be the one. I think they have a road divisional loss in them, possibly two, and probably one other random game. The Giants road trip could be a sneaky tough one. 12-4 is looking within reach.
  10. The problem is the Packers have had a few of those this year. And, coincidentally, have been that team for a couple years now. They will put together 2-3 drives where they look like they're moving the ball at will and then shut it down for quarters at a time. I think some of it is coming back down to earth of Rodgers just doing whatever he wants, but they do need to find some consistency on offense. Just letting the defense get a breather sometimes is helpful.
  11. I had a bat signed by Mel Stocker that also had his name engraved on it. I couldn't for the life of me find out where he used it. I contacted every minor league team on baseball reference and none of them could help. This was a couple years ago when Facebook charged $1 to send out of network messages, but I found him and decided it was worth it. He got back to me within the day telling me where he used it, the season it was from and everything. Super nice dude.
  12. The Raiders aren't good. I'd be a little worried if it was on the road on Sunday Night or something, but a noon home game, the Packers should roll through this. They can always be a little uglier than you want to see, but losing to this team would be a major red flag, even if the Raiders look a bit better than expected. I can't see KC as a lock even without Mahomes, but the Packers really have no business losing a game until they face Carolina. That'd put them 8-1 heading into that.
  13. Not changing them is insane.
  14. That one falls in the same category as the Lions fans who aren’t satisfied saying that the bad calls on Monday cost their team the game. They have to go on to say that the Lions get screwed more than any team in the league and it’s because of a deep conspiracy in the NFL to help popular teams like the Packers at the expense of teams like the Lions. This is said in every sport by every fan when their team loses on bad calls. Even fans of the "popular" teams. That explains the Packers two championships in 50+ years. They also never get hosed by calls.
  15. I'd say it's stupid. These kinds of things almost never end up working out. I want Khalil Mack for two first round picks. However, Jalen Ramsey doesn't really fit geezer versions of Deion Sanders. He's a great player, but I don't think he's even the clear-cut best corner in the game or a generational talent like Mack. I think before this trade happened, if you made a thread postulating what it would take to get Ramsey you would get a lot of people saying a 2nd and a 5th or something. They paid a massive price for a .500 team headed to salary cap hell. If anything it smacked of desperation to me and very short-sighted.
  16. Aaaaand the refund comes in one day later. Yippee.
  17. I don't think most people had an issue with Perez. Just thought he was overused. I always liked him.
  18. On the deer thing, I saw a buck get absolutely lit up outside Harford this week. A legit buck, rack and all. This thing was sprinting across highway 60 about 50 feet in front of me, then a sedan hit it on the other side. The bumper fell off, and this thing went twirling ~ 20 feet high. It got so high up it landed on the grass. He got up wobbling but can't believe he lasted much longer.
  19. The Nationals are a great team. With that lineup and those three starters they are a tough out for anyone in a playoff series, NYY and HOU included.
  20. Yes, he is the best, but IMO he would also stand to lose the most in today's game, being that his vision of the ice is what made him great. Way ahead of his time, but the back pressure of today's game would slow down a lot of his advantage. He never had a wrist shot as good as somebody like Ovechkin, and just lacked the physical prowess of someone like that/Lemieux. Of course, he was also the king of deflecting praise to other people, so we'll never know what he really thinks.
  21. I mean, sort of. He is clearly the greatest player in the sport imo, but lots of other guys were putting up numbers during that era that would be absolutely god-like now. Pretty sure Phil Esposito topped 70 and was over 60 several times, Lemiuex and Hull both hit over 80. Ovechkin leads most years and flirts with 50. Hitting 60 today is a certified monster. He had the best vision of any player I've ever seen. He was not a particularly fast skater nor did he have a great shot.
  22. Gretzky himself has said on numerous occasions those scoring records are cartoony. He didn't play with any back pressure bringing the puck up, and prolific scorers like him were allowed to be as creative as they wanted. Defense isn't played like that anymore and those records are basically untouchable. He went as far as saying he couldn't play in today's game, which is an overdose of humility, but he wouldn't be scoring 50 goals in 28 games.
  23. Further annoyed by this whole molasses process. My CC bill was due today, so was hoping to see that strip come back. But nope. Have to send Chase $3k only to ask for it back probably in 3 days, which will probably take them a month.
  24. KC could very well be a loss, but it's not a team match-up wise that the Packers typically struggle with. The Packers offense isn't as good as it usually has been, but that defense is bad. That KC team actually reminds me a lot of the 2011 Packers. The 49ers are more the kind of team that usually holds Rodgers to 50% completion and 190 yards. So the Packers should be able to score on Kansas City. SF looks to be a very difficult matchup.
