  1. Giannis was in his extra gear last night. When he plays like that they all feed off of him. I think he has been waiting for this since the start. This could be an incredible ride.
  2. My oh my.... First off, taking anyone for granted in the playoffs is a faux pas. Second, the Bucks haven't won a series in what, 18 years? Last, we are one injury from being in a 50/50 coin flip series. I'm hoping the Bucks take nothing for granted. Meh, nah. There is no chance the Pistons win this series. Short of Giannis blowing out his knee it's just not going to happen and even then I still think they'd lose. I'll be surprised enough if the Pistons take a game. My guess is game 3 is pseudo-close but the Bucks still pull it out. 18 years means nothing. What happens in the past has no bearing on the present. Taking a pass on the 8th seed in the East is not faux pas it is a reality of letting half the league into the postseason.
  3. Chase the comeback kid has the 3rd best ERA in our rotation right now with a chance to end this game #2.
  4. 2-4 on the WC is not great but it's not 0-6. I don't know how much better this team is going to get but I feel confident it's not even close to clicking on all cylinders yet and they've managed 10-6 despite that.
  5. I don't mind it all that much. You get to shut it off in the 2nd and write it off. Nobody of real consequence burns their arm out in a losing effort. I'm OK for now. The worse they pitch the less I believe it can go on forever, at least I hope. I'll take 2/3 in LA and head home.
  6. HGTV is probably about 75% of our Sling use due to the Mrs.
  7. I think we all know where this goes. Disney is coming in to undercut Netflix, but once they get people hooked, which they will be, that price is quickly going to be $20. Netflix got huge by aggregating content, but now everyone wants their slice and we're just going to have 20 different streamers with licensing rights that basically add up to the cost of cable.
  8. So much for debit style voucher card. I got paper vouchers in the mail today.
  9. I don't know why I didn't think of this before you ordered. But I would have just ordered the tickets for you through my rep and transferred them to you. I wish it had crossed my mind.
  10. I'm SSH, but if your goal is just attending a game, really the best way to do so 99% of the time is a day-of order on Stubhub. The absolute best is a scalper at the stadium, but that's not for me. I just hate the pressure of that your selection gets limited. Unless it is a summer weekend (even some of these work) or a giveaway, the price is very very often less than face on SH even with the fees. I've already had to sell off a couple games I can't make and I didn't even get face back. But it's hard to beat an MLB game for <$10, which I have been able to do before even with winning Brewers teams. If you just stop separating the fee from the ticket in your head it gets easiest to move on with life, lol. The face price is a lie for most things. I just bought 4 tickets to Jurassic World Live at Fiserv, they were $30 each and the total was like $180.
  11. One of the elements of these contracts that is often lost that we wouldn't have any idea about, is what's going on in a person's life. Imagine you're a 25 year old ballplayer with six younger siblings in the Dominican Republic living with your parents in poverty. Or your mom has colon cancer. The promise of money right now is gonna look pretty good in those conditions.
  12. Idk how you can say that. The original productions are getting Emmys and Oscars now. There are so many good shows on Netflix I could rattle off 10-15 without having to think and it has some of the best documentary material around. It was trash about five years ago but it is fantastic nowadays. It absolutely blows cable out of the water.
  13. Spectrum Assist. Got lucky with my address being located in a zip designated for some low income pricing even thought the neighborhood really isn't. Legally they aren't allowed to dictate who gets it based on income and they have to offer it to entire sections.
  14. Fixed it for you Price of Netflix is going up, too. Probably in preparation for losing all Disney content soon. $9 is the increased price from $8 for long timers. It isn't $15 across the board unless you have 4k/multiple screens. The Disney service is going to cheap too. Rumor is $5-8.
  15. 2-3 is expected with the travel, but the 1-2 is a little silly.
  16. I'm a collector, and I always thought owning other guys' championship rings was tacky and weird. Why the hell would I want a ring that signified a pro athlete winning the NBA championship? Weird. Cool ring though. Really held up stylistically with time.
  17. I actually don't think his problem was arm-related at all. He graded out pretty well in both. His big flaw was he had some of the worst pocket presence I've ever seen. He would start scrambling with guys still 10 feet away, which in the NFL isn't possible to be effective while doing unless you're Aaron Rodgers. You have to be able to stand in and get rid of a pass with every millisecond of protection you have. He was incredibly skittish as a starter and would bolt when he saw anybody even starting to break through his protection. This is a lofty standard but always one of the reasons I've loved watching him play - Tom Brady. Next time you see a Pats game, watch how late some of his throws are made. He will stand there and complete his whole motion with guys inches away from him and sometimes just take absolute shots on his release. He knows he can't run away, so he uses every little second he gets.
  18. I agree and that's why I wanted them. There is just no way this team pushes the Bucks to 6 or 7 games like I think could have happened with another team before they shut it down. I'm all for a boring series. I've had a lot of experience with the Bucks and boring first rounds. I'm not even the slightest bit interested in going to a game until the ECF.
  19. Hundley gave them reason to believe he could play. He got a lot of praise, was a good college player, and had some good preseasons. McCarthy probably had some arrogance as a QB master too. I think Hundley just wound up as a player who couldn't put it together consistently when the bright lights were on. Plus, one thing kind of forgotten is that Hundley was basically rolling with the same team Rodgers had last year. He couldn't will them to wins, so it puts Hundley's year in perspective a little bit.
  20. Probably about what to expect generally with drafting. QB is hard to do, especially later on. It's much easier to find a serviceable 5th round OG than a QB.
  21. It's a great book. One of my favorite excerpts about that whole dynamic was from a reporter named Dylan Tomlinson. He had covered GB for a long time and personally could not stand Favre. All the worship that was published for years made him sick, but he never had the reason to publish the stories of Favre's drunkenness and debauchery around GB. He did a feature on Rodgers after he was drafted and loved him. He thought he was far more intelligent, open and and genuine. Eventually the topic of Favre came up and he'd asked Rodgers what he expected. Rodgers told him he hadn't heard from him, and had no idea what to expect. He asked Tomlinson what he thought, and he just said "Honestly, with how insecure he is, I think he's going to give you a ton of ****." At the end of the season, as they were packing up lockers, Rodgers found him and just said "Everything you told me about Brett was 100% right."
  22. Lol. They go into detail in Gunslinger. Some of it seemed like normal hazing (making Rodgers and others unknowingly sign his own helmet, then when he realized it, having to practice in an autographed helmet). Some of it seemed cruel and not very funny. Circulating rumors he was gay, and having a pretty distasteful shirt made and passed around a QB meeting. I wouldn't have liked Brett Favre a whole lot either.
