  1. What on earth is Brice doing there? The guy can only run so far, the end zone is right there. I don't think you have to hold him like he's running 60 yards downfield.
  2. Worse has definitely not gotten an ejection, but you also have to get caught. And that still doesn't mean it's the wrong call, if others let it slide. I'm just not up in arms over guys getting tossed for slapping. That shouldn't be tolerated in anywhere and he should know better. He's put the team in a horrible spot now...as we are seeing unfold.
  3. IDK, color me soft, but I think that slap was pretty flagrant. Guys do that every week, but they don't usually make such solid contact. I wasn't surprised at all he got tossed and thought Al & Chris were going a little hard on the reaction.
  4. MVS is turning into quite the deep threat.
  5. Except everyone in the country other than the referee disagrees with you at this point. Everyone except the referee, and the officials who reviewed in NY and confirmed it. It is striking the head, and an automatic ejection. You and the Twitterverse can think what you want about it.
  6. This has nothing to do with that play, which isn't a catch, but I really hate replay. I can't stand watching these games anymore with all the stoppages. I'd rather live with infuriating calls.
  7. Pretty black and white. He was ejected for striking the head. Zero tolerance. Offense sputtering again is all that's mildly upsetting to me. I just haven't felt any excitement watching this team this year outside of the 4th quarter of Week 1. I'm just not engaged and it's hard to even pay attention. They're just kind of...well, boring.
  8. I'm referring to his body of work this year. I don't think he's come down with one of those contested passes all year. It's happened a lot. The old Jimmy Graham makes way more of those plays. He's got no explosiveness at this point. 8th in the NFL in yards among tight ends doesn't mean much to me. Probably 1/3 of teams don't use their TE in the passing game anyway. Graham has been pretty average. Not a difference maker at all. His catch % is below 58 the last two seasons. He had years pushing 70 in his peak.
  9. Prior to tonight Graham was on pace for ~850 yard season, which would have ranked 3rd among TEs last year. He has 40 yards already in the 1st quarter tonight. He hasn't been anything remotely close to a bust. That doesn't really say much. Richard Rodgers had a 600 yard season. Graham isn't doing at all what he was signed to do. Bust may be harsh, but disappointing is very fair. There was a detailed evaluation in JSO about how he's clearly fallen off and no longer a difference maker. His catch % is waaaay down the last two seasons which would support the idea that he's not coming down with contested catches. And he hasn't. At this point in his career he's a red zone target and not much else, and one with one touchdown.
  10. Redskins were blown up today and HaHa had a very typical game, he was essentially invisible. I think they will regret losing even a 4th for him. He's just not very good. I think the Packers win tonight. The Patriots are an annual contender obviously, but this year's team is not as scary as they usually are. The defense is very vulnerable, so I expect a high-scoring game. Sticking with 37-34 Packers. Last week's game was a typical game McCarthy-coached teams often win. I think with the prospect of falling under .500 they pull this one out. I'll be surprised if they get run off the field. I think it'll be a good one. We don't get to see Brady-Rodgers nearly often enough so I hope it's fun.
  11. I mean, I'm not sure you could expect a guy to know that. He's 22 and the punter, it he hasn't outright talked about it there's no way that would come up casually.
  12. I think the Packers win tonight. I think it's going to be dramatic and high scoring, but they're getting close to absolutely needing to win. I'll say 37-34 Packers.
  13. I've always believed without Sharpe's injury the Packers never win Super Bowl XXXI. It forced Favre to develop and not just toss bombs to his stud.
  14. Anyone get their WS ticket refunds? I know they're coming, but wondering if Amex people got theirs already. Usually the rest follow a few days later.
  15. The $14mm makes it much more palatable than $20mm, but that MOR starter was pretty blah for the last year and a half before getting to Chicago. I think it's unlikely at his age he does what he did again for the Cubs down the stretch. I don't know if it's terrible, or even bad...but I'm fine with it, let me put it that way. The Cubs really don't have a ton of flexibility with their payroll this offseason. This could very well be the most expensive thing they do. I have a hunch that they will get more out of a few guys in '19 than they did this year though.
  16. Why? Good lord, I cannot believe that.
  17. The article in JSOnline about HaHa's fall from grace is worth reading. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/dougherty/2018/11/01/dougherty-unraveling-mystery-ha-ha-clinton-dixs-decline/1848782002/ The big point that maybe some assumed, is that he thinks he is a star and deserves to be paid like one. Apparently his 2016 season really got to his head and according to coaches and teammates, hurt his work ethic. Really makes it sound like the Packers genuinely don't want him around versus a situation where they were being cheap.
  18. I can't get behind the idea that Packers fans in general are smarter about football. I don't know how anyone could possibly prove something like that, and I've heard countless moronic armchair QBs in bars, at Lambeau, and at the office to believe it. Let's take a moment to remember there are a larger-than-tiny faction of fans calling for Matt Hasselbeck to supplant Brett Favre at one point. They may know more about the game than a Rams fan who just started watching football last month, but that's about all I can give them.
  19. All that said though, Kumerow did look really pretty dang athletic in the preseason. I hope he finds a way in somehow, cus I'd just like to see if there's anything there.
  20. Donald Driver was actually good though. Abbrederis, Kuhn, Billy Schroeder, Ripkowski, yearly calls for Jeff Janis to be a major piece of the offense. Let's be realistic, when you are at Lambeau Field it is not exactly a cultural melting pot. It is hard to think of a white skill position player who wasn't adored. I did a double take when I read that, but I tried to think of one and couldn't. The fans automatically assume it is some gritty beer-guzzling guy that loves to hunt and he becomes some kind of folk hero lmao
  21. But isn't there something to be said of Hader's value as a reliever? The obvious benefit there is that you don't start him every 5 days and use his outing on a day you win 8-1. I get that is a bit of a catch 22, but you don't get to be as selective with his innings. I don't doubt that Hader can be a starting pitcher, but I am not convinced that he isn't more valuable in the bullpen.
  22. Baseball contracts aren't my thing. Is it at all within the realm of possibility that he hits FA, gets no interest, and comes back to MIL for $7 million? I don't know that we even want him or that he fits our needs best, but is that a super crazy idea?
  23. I will give the organization a pass on 2014 when they basically were a Super Bowl team, but that becomes another black mark on MM. It's hard to do, but also hard to feel that it won't be a disappointment if he walks away with one. It's way too early to conclude that though. For all we know Rodgers has 8 seasons left. Expecting SB wins becomes splitting hairs of sorts, for me the bigger failure is how mediocre the teams are year in and year out. They've gotten a first round bye twice in Rodgers career. I don't know what the number is, but how many of those did Brady get? That is a huge advantage when there are only 3 playoff games. Their annual 9-10 squeak-ins are more of a failure than not winning Super Bowls IMO. And that they seem to be the same blueprint every year - a team that scores a ton and has just been an absolute sieve defensively. As far as the team structure, I believe that's a formality. If Gute wants McCarthy fired it will happen. I really doubt Murphy is deciding who is coach.
  24. You posted a link with your own Brewers prediction? Really? Yes, I sure did. I thought that was pretty clear that I did that. You're asking, why? To refute the stupid, rampant narrative that I am always negative and predicting doom and gloom. That is simply a self-fulfilling prophecy that some people choose to have any time anyone is remotely critical of their favorite teams. It is the same reason people dislike Joe Buck for "hating the Packers and Brewers." It's dumb.
