  1. I won't watch it, but I still want Boston to win.
  2. I am definitely rooting for Boston to send those dbags and their fans into November depressed. Boston has won multiple now, there is no harm in another.
  3. I feel the same as I did watching Puig's ball go over the wall. This will hurt for some time.
  4. Well his second half is closer to where a 28 year old 1B would project. I think he can be an .800 OPS guy. I do not think he's the 7th best 1B in baseball. I doubt he ever plays the way he did this year again
  5. I think it is about 30/70 Moose comes back/doesn't. It won't be at the $15 million, but there is a chance beyond that depending on the market.
  6. I'd be interested to see those ranking after about July 4th. It does take away from what he did, because what he did was not sustainable at all. He also isn't a prospect, he's 28. At his salary it is likely that he is kept, but let me rephrase, he's not going to be a team cornerstone. We have already seen the best he is ever going to be and it would be like Lyle Overbay on a championship team. I guess it is fine, but he is not some elite hitter.
  7. As an SSH there are only two reasons to do it: You're a king if they make the playoffs, and if you value non-game stuff, like meeting players, some cool events, etc. If your goal is making it to reg season games it is almost never a good bargain.
  8. Yeah I don't think Aguilar is a real option at first. He played the first half too well to replace but if they hadn't been competing he was an ideal trade high guy. Woodruff may very well end up a right handed Hader. He is a stud no matter what the role is.
  9. I'm depressed as ever today. But compared to 2011 and 2008, they aren't supposed to take a dive the next season.
  10. Milwaukee brought this on itself relentless booing both for a week, telling him he sucks and erupting in a standing ovation every time he made an out. There was a MaCHEATo sign in the outfield at every game. And many other individual taunts directed at both all week. Athletes, used to it, yadda yadda, but I can promise you winning that game and Puig sending one over the wall were cathartic moments for both. They're human beings who relished sticking it back in the fans' faces. The fans poked the bear and got his crotch basically.
  11. Winning one WS is going to change everything? Some would say that one in the last 50 would be a blip or insignificant. It stings to lose this one, sure. We had a terrific season. Show a little grace, tip your hat to LA, and hope for better next season. Yes. Winning one would change it for me, and a lot of other folks.
  12. Well, because despite the disaster that trade was, he IS a good hitter and could have had a hit at any moment. But the reason he was picked was obvious. It was super early in the game, close, and you don't want to use your best option there. But really, I'm beyond nitpicking in-game decisions. There is no shame in losing to that team, on paper we were badly overmatched. I am not upset with the performance; I am just depressed that I don't think this franchise will ever get it done. It is just too hard for a team like them to succeed. You have to basically get lucky and finish the job when the stars align, and that was this year. Good night guys. I am not around much at all in the offseason. I need to get away from this now for a very long time.
  13. Jeffress was salt in the wound and nothing more. After we started playing the "put a guy on 2nd then fart three times" game I knew where this was headed. Strategy didn't matter tonight. Talent won in the end.
  14. There is no reason to be optimistic at this moment. The Dodgers kicked our crotch on our field. That was emotionally 2011 Game 6. Unexciting and uninspired. Yeah, there is talent on the roster, there is also Chicago, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and hell, Cincinnati in our division. And yeah, we'd still have to beat the Dodgers. There will be a lot of regression too. Can they get back? Yeah I guess it is possible. But highly, highly unlikely. The Cubs and Dodgers at a minimum are favorites.
  15. You may not remember other teams who lost in the NLCS, but we sure as hell will remember ours! I get the negativity, we are all severely disappointed in the outcome, but compare this season to most of the recent ones, and this IS a very memorable season. It wasn't perfect, not even close, but being a Brewers fan since their inception, it is for sure in the top 3 or 4 seasons ever. I'm not accepting losing, but I am accepting the fact that we played deep into the playoffs, which is far better than not playing in October at all. Better than not playing in October, sure, but I would have preferred the 5-1 loss yesterday when most people expected it. Something about this state that its teams must always string you along and then kill you.
  16. How many NLCS losers do you remember 5, 10 years later? Who last it last year or the year before? Yeah, exactly. Ultimately they are a blip. Tonight was their chance to go down in lore and they blew it. Again.
  17. I give any who can think about free agency and trades right now credit. I can't even stomach next season. The odds of this run happening again are slim to nil. It is impressive we did this twice in eight years imo. But right now it just feels like it will never be enough.
  18. Not this game, but Game 2 and Game 4, yeah. I can't do the "great memories were made", "good job guys!" thing. Just can't. We are known for losing and we lost again. We should have won this series. The crowning achievement will be game 163, the rest of this will largely be forgotten. It's an '08, '11. An insignificant blip.
  19. Guys I am out of here to start my Miller Park routine. Best of luck to all, whether you are going tonight, sitting at home, in another state or country. We have all been waiting years for this, some like me have never experienced it before. Have a great day.
  20. We are on a bit of dryspell for dingers. I believe the last one was Arcia in G3 unless I'm forgetting. So the big boys are due. And the place will erupt if that happens.
  21. Hader starting is getting too cute for me. The idea itself isn't terrible, but I don't like throwing a considerable curveball in his routine. I don't think Game 7 is the time to ask him to do something he has never done. I'm not the manager but I think I use him at the first high-leverage situation after the starter. Whether that is the 4th, 6th or 8th I don't care. And you throw him at least 2, hoping for 3 if he still has juice.
  22. What is the strategy tonight? Hader first guy out of pen for 3 innings? Or give him 8 & 9? This assumes Chacin gives you a solid start.
  23. Best game I've ever been to at MP. Hopefully holds that crown for a very short time.
