  1. Unless they hit a lot of home runs, then it really doesn't matter. Our offense isn't very good. Wouldn't matter to me if they manufactured them or hit bombs. They're not doing enough of either.
  2. Albers needs to go. So does Jennings. Knebel hasn't looked great. We need to make a bullpen of only Jeffresses and Haders. Not tonight's Hader though, the good one.
  3. There are a lot of Cubs fans but there are a lot of Brewers fans too. Brewers fans won't make any noise for an Aguilar pop out so the sound is a little misleading.
  4. I never buy into this type of stuff but this time I do. The Cubs aren't in the Brewers head, but if this is another disaster series they are definitely going to be there.
  5. Nice, my first game in attendance where I get to see Wild Kratz in action.
  6. Not crazy at all and because we have a young, forward-thinking GM I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's an unorthodox strategy forthcoming. With the bullpen we have Arcia should probably be in any game we're up 3+ runs. Wouldn't shock me much at all if they go with the bat to start some games and quickly insert the defense later. Especially since you have to burn through PHs with all the pitchers you're using, it could potentially kill two birds with one stone. Maybe Miller starts and bats once or something. Arcia is then getting 1-2 less at bats. I'm just thinking out loud here but I'm interested to see what happens. Again, don't think they traded for him to play in AAA.
  7. Yeah...this guy is either playing SS for the Brewers or they really have a trick up their sleeves and he's playing catcher. He's going to be in our lineup. Probably often. I won't be shocked if Arcia stays though.
  8. I don't think so either but the guy played 100 games at SS in 2016. If they're letting Sogard play there and bat .100 I think he's going to get some opportunities.
  9. You can move them around as you see fit, but in any case, I don't think they got Miller to play in AAA all year. I think they see him as someone who's going to contribute significantly in Milwaukee. Maybe I'm wrong though.
  10. If Eric Sogard took PT from Arcia I don't see any reason why Miller wouldn't.
  11. I think he's going to play a lot. Stearns probably saw something that made him think he can be closer to the 30-HR guy he was in 2016. I think Arcia is headed back down or will rarely start and be a late-game defensive sub. Arcia's also looked a little bit better at the plate since coming back up but it's nothing conclusive enough to know for sure. But I think there was probably some advanced statistical work that showed if he bats twice a game the Brewers are better off than they are now. I like the move, it has the makings of one of Stearns' low-risk great pickups.
  12. 2/3 on the road agaisnt a good team. Time to show we can do it against the Cubs.
  13. Yeah, I checked the forecast as well and it's going to be raining all day, at least it looks that way.
  14. Perez types have spots on rosters all over baseball, they're just usually the worst guy on the roster. We have like 5 guys hitting worse than him, which is the real issue.
  15. If there's a concern for me this is it. We can't have three pitchers in the batting order every night. I think one bat could go a long way toward helping. Maybe it's Thames, but I think they need a SS who does something at the plate.
  16. Color me frustrated but not worried, for now. This stretch was bound to happen over 162. So I'm not really alarmed. Almost everybody has a weakness and it will expose you for stretches of time. That's baseball. Here's to hoping they snap out of this before CHC/STL. The pitching is still holding up fine.
  17. Aguilar was a strong OPS player last year in his first real ML opportunity. He has been the most consistent hitter in the offense. It may be reasonable to think he isn't this good, but I don't know what the guy has to do get some believers.
  18. I'm optimistic he can return to form. He's been handled extremely delicately. If there is even an inkling that something is off, he'll remain on the shelf. It wouldn't surprise me at all if his first appearances are out of the pen or he starts and goes through the order once or something.
  19. You won't see Choi again once Thames is healthy, which should be soon.
  20. Nothing of CC's is on the line, yet. He's got one of the safest seats in MLB. It would take major regression/clubhouse split for anything to happen to him. They could finish below .500 and I still think he'd be back.
  21. People are going to start saying this sooner or later. That the Cubs are gaining ground only makes it louder. I, for one, do not expect the Brewers to hold first place until October. I don't think they'll win the division anyway and never did. But I do think they are a very good team. I think they're going to be in the play-in game and anything can happen at that point.
  22. It has nothing to do with starting Perez, there's a way to complain about that without the "I expect CC to be dumb" suffix. I don't think Counsell has done anything to warrant that kind of talk but he's a big boy and can take it I guess. If CC is so dumb I wonder who people want in his place. It just absolutely blows my mind how you can complain about the manager of this team.
