  1. Uh... why is this Aaron Rodgers stuff in the Packer thread? 😝
  2. The DL stint a month ago is meaningless. He isn't limited in any way. If the BP wasn't burnt out last night, I'd guess he only does 7 or 8 innings. But I'm guessing Woo fought for the right to go back out and sometimes you gotta let an Ace just do it.
  3. The Big Woo is actually my favorite nickname for him. Bonus points if you know the movie reference... 20f6850c-798d-4f44-9ee0-c5a7d0d2f218.mp4
  4. Chafin might not get in, but we are far enough ahead for Brian Anderson to finally get an AB!
  5. Adames needs a HR for the cycle tonight...
  6. A moderator already warned to move on.
  7. Cubs and Colorado are 1-1 in the 3rd.
  8. Might be a motivational move too... Hey guys, we are all in and bringing up our top candidate to show we are all in. Ignore that we would've brought him up next year anyway and we had a random 40 man roster spot open anyway...
  9. Yes, Dillon really has just gotten more and more vanilla as he aged. No wiggle, running directly into the D. I think the predictable play calling doesn't help - hey, Dillon is back there, it must be a run. But he doesn't look like the back from 2 years ago. If he can't get anything going this year, it wouldn't shock me to see Taylor promoted to the 53-man in his place. I wouldn't mind Wilson getting a few carries eventually too.
  10. That is true. He made a nice play there. I was also thinking of the play where they ran in for a TD and Clark looked like he was on skates going backwards. He wasn't horrible overall...just a stark comparison to everyone else on the DL/OLB that seemed to dominate the Bears OL and he was just "meh". To be honest, I've wondered how much of his reputation has really be earned or just inherited the last couple years. He'll have a game here and there, but mostly just "meh". But announcers will talk him up as if he is a regular pro-bowler.
  11. Week 1 results might not be indicative of the rest of the season, but you can never be too happy from pounding the Bears! 😂
  12. I love how Alexander and Douglas play from snap to whistle... not so much after though. They need to cool off on the post-play crap. Walker would make a great RB...just don't give him the ball at the goal line. Not sure why he dance down the line instead of plunging in. Would've been safer just pushing through the guy instead of dancing away from him. Jordan is Loving him some Jayden Reed; and me too. Wow is he giving me Cobb 2.0 vibes (with upgraded the speed). So comfortable catching punts; looks like he is going to be a major contributor this year (potential top WR??). just looks comfortable out there from day 1. So very Cobb like. Could someone please remind Kenny Clark that he is one of our better DL out there? Was pretty invisible against the Bears. Maybe the OL was uber focused on him and that led to everyone else getting the pressures, but he didn't look game ready. Musgrave looks awkward catching deep balls. Not just against the Bears, but in preseason too. Hopefully he can fix that soon. Love looked pretty jittery in the first half, but settled down nicely in the second. Looked like a whole new QB in the second. Also looked massively better than Fields. After thinking about Fields' performance (and previous ones), I think I've changed my opinion on him (a bit). I thought accuracy was his main issue, but he was pretty accurate yesterday (~65%). I think he is just slow to read and react to tight defenses. When players are wide open (like at Ohio St), they are easy reads. I can't think of any throw Fields threw (not made, but threw) that was contested. Even the interception, the WR had a nice gap, Walker just came from the other direction. On the positive side for the Packers, I don't see how he is going to overcome that. You can get better at reading defenses as you see more of them. But the reaction part of that isn't really going to get better...some QBs have it, some don't. Coaching - Really nice adjustments at halftime on both offense and defense.
  13. Wow way to start the season on a high note! 😝 Actually, I think the opposite maybe more likely... Bears runs through us... Bears have no D...
  14. Regarding going down 10: At 21-20, a TD and 2pt conversion would put them down 9. Is that what you were referring to? Otherwise, the options would be: 21-20: no score 24-20: Field goal 28-20: TD+xtra pt 27-20 for TD + failed 2pt/xtra pt kick. Or how did you mean they could be down 10? Regarding a safety+onside kick: I wonder what is more likely? Converting 4th&25 or an onsite kick? I think I'd take my chances with 4th&25. They almost made it the way it was...
  15. The tale of two young QBs trying to find their footing in the NFL. Love is older than Fields by 4 months. Love has one more year in the league, but Fields has 25 starts to Jordan's lone start. With Aaron Rodgers out of the way, will Love be able to pickup the Bear's lease?
  16. Statistically a team has a better chance of winning their division when they start 1-0 compared to 0-1.... 😉
  17. @Joseph Zarr, I seriously have not been spending enough time in the minor league forum. Really nice job on the write-up and holy cow what a lot of work in preparing it.
  18. A little Buck's love:
  19. Yesterday's win was the Brewers' 2000th win in the NL. https://www.brewcrewball.com/2023/9/5/23860826/big-5th-inning-helps-brewers-to-7-3-win-over-pirates
  20. Hopefully not these songs... But we are all asking this question:
  21. I was very close to putting this in my prediction.
  22. Here are my predictions: Record: 8-9 Will we make the playoffs? No. Third in the NFC north behind Lions (1st) and Vikings(2nd) Offensive MVP: Aaron Jones Offensive Most Improved Player: Doubs. Just edges out Watson. Offensive Rookie of the Year: Reed. Musgrave is tempting, but I see a lot of connection btw Love and Reed. Most Receiving Yards: Doubs Most Rushing Yards: Jones. I could also see Dillon getting it, while Jones has the most total yards on the team. Most TDs total (rushing or receiving): Watson Love's QB line: Rating, Yards, TDs, INTs: 90, 3500, 25, 15 Defensive MVP: Alexander. Gary would be my pick if he was 100% on day 1. Defensive Most Improved Player: Walker. Improvement started late last year. I think a jump is coming for the young man. Defensive Rookie of the Year: Van Ness Most Sacks: Smith. This is his “up” year in his up, down, up, down cycle. Gary slowed early also impacts the decision. Most INTs: Douglas. Was uncomfortable in the slot, but much more natural back on the edge. Carlson's FG%: 85%. Passable. Others? Zero 1000 yard receivers… but a few over 500 yards (Doub, Watson, Jones, Musgrave, Reed). Sean Rhyan gets meaningful offensive snaps At least one of our final starting safeties is not on our roster today (or on the roster as a safety). Our defense struggles against the run…again. But better than last year.
