  1. I think FS1 has changed since I last tried it. I used to get regional (MN) sports only. Good to know you can get all the games again.
  2. Question on Mordecai's INTs - Were they the result of poor accuracy, misreading the defense, WR/QB not on the same page, or just good defensive play on a 50/50 ball?
  3. Unfortunately, I did not get to watch the game (still need to figure out a good way to watch them out of market). These "preseason" games are always a bit interesting. First live action for this team that has a lot of new faces playing together. It will take some time to build that trust and confidence to play as a team. It was also Mordecai's first game playing in front of the home fans too... However, despite our hopes of him being night and day better, most ratings I saw in the offseason only had him a few spots ahead of Mertz. I do think our WR play is a major part of our problems. When I saw Dike still as the #1 WR that did concern me that we didn't make much for upgrades (except our depth certainly being better). There are two more "preseason" games before Purdue to see the team (coaches included) figure out our identity as a team. What are we good at? Who are our playmakers? Where are the weak links?
  4. I want to win every day! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  5. I lead a team of over 20 software engineers plus another team in a low cost country. Remote work is pretty important because not everyone we work with is local. So in 2020, it took us a bit to adjust, but we mainly had setup things to work remotely anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal. We did notice that project teams worked great... but the team bonds across projects was weak. People simply didn't get to meet and work with those people. I just don't wan to see the "old school if I don't see you, you must not be working hard" thinking to return. Yes, there will always be people slacking off. That goes the same in the office too... But working from home has made people on my team happier. It gives them better home and work life balance. It gives them better flexibility to deal with kids, spouse, auto, whatever life throws at you issues. I'll have people log in late at night or on weekends...just because they had something pop in their heads. Yes, my company suddenly feels the need to heavy-hand it and push people back on the office... despite most teams working well this way. It does take a unique job to be fully remote (I do have a few employees that work this way) and it is even riskier to hire someone right away as fully remote. But having hybrid workers should be a "norm" for most office workers. Let us gain something good from 2020!
  6. I don't recall the year, but there was a time all of our OLBs failed to hold the edge... we were getting burnt by QBs and RBs alike. I seem to remember Cook getting outside over and over again... probably 2021? Wasn't just Gary, but Gary was clearly one of them. Either way... LVN is quite a bit in the exact same position as Gary was as a rookie. That was the main point.
  7. Fangraphs allows custom splits. And yes, the Brewers do look at them because they have a tendency to play the hot hand and matchup ball (aside from Huira, but that is another story). The point was the Weimer has been trending down for a while... even vs LHP. He was white hot early and looking poor now. And looking more lost at the plate as he goes (no metric...just an eyeball test). So no real point in saying we must play Wiemer vs LHP over Taylor... his 864 OPS vs Lefties is a bit of a paper tiger. They have been about neck-and-neck at the moment vs lefties.
  8. Well, the upside for those not wanting Donaldson ... he isn't at the MLB yet. So at least we have some time to see if he is healthy and can hit. Maybe there is lightning still in the bottle...
  9. Except those numbers don't represent his recent numbers... Since July 1st: 244/279/390/669 (43 PAs) Taylor isn't much better (just better power). But the point was that Weimer's 864 OPS was driven by his first half of the season. There isn't much offensively for Wiemer vs LHP or RHP.
  10. No, not the same level (hence my description as "decent"). But that doesn't mean he is going to Kotsay it up out there... The point was that the delta in defensive value doesn't make up for the delta in offensive value.
  11. Right, but now that he wasn't claimed, he is a FA to be signed without the big ($5M? for 1 month) pricetag.
  12. I don't. Frelick has been excellent. Taylor is decent. Wiemer's D is minimally better given the gap in his offense at this point.
  13. Cincinnati and Cleveland clean up on waiver grabs. Will be interesting how it impacts the Brewers and Twins. Especially Cleveland as they seemed to improve the most, IMO.
  14. Mike Clevinger did also. Would be a great grab to fill Houser's spot... but I wonder if he goes back to Cleveland? https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-waiver-claims-yankees-harrison-bader-scooped-up-by-reds-lucas-giolito-lands-back-in-al-central/
  15. I tend to think the risk of Black going from AA to AAA (and being meh) to MLB is too high for the Brewers to risk adding Black to the 40-man roster now (starting his arby countdown, etc..). I'm guessing they wait until they are reasonably sure he can contribute at the MLB level. I'd guess Toro would come up before Black.
  16. FWIW, this would be a different situation than Hader's trade. There is a period of mourning for a loss of someone so integral to the team. I think the team chemistry is strong to withstand bringing in someone that isn't a great teammate. Those are very different situations. Not saying we should tempt fate and bring him in... he is injury prone, old and not hitting well... just saying that this doesn't compare to the "team chemistry" struggles of last year.
  17. I seem to remember some grumbling about him with the Twins (after the FA signing honeymoon wore off of course) here in MN on the sports broadcasts... To the tune of lockerroom issues, but I don't recall anything specific. Maybe @Brock Beauchamp remembers more?
  18. They probably need to wait until the waiver claims are awarded too.
  19. When do they announce where the players are going?
  20. Sorry to hear that @LouisEly. But doesn't it make it easier to find an in-office job then? Well unless you are looking for a SW engineering director level position, we won't be competing. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. The wind had a lot to do with it yesterday. There were several balls that would've been homers yesterday, but died at the track or on the wall. Hendricks had his "A" changeup and control today... he is always tough when he can do that.
  22. They are going to have to hit good pitchers no matter who they draw...
  23. Yes, all of the international players assigned to teams have an exemption to keep those players. All 16 players were with the Packers during training camp but released during final cutdowns on Tuesday. One of the 16 players was Kenneth Odumegwu, an International Player Pathway participant who gets a practice squad exemption, so the Packers still have one open spot.
  24. I missed Wicks injury, but can we do that on a waiver claim? (i.e. doesn't a waiver claim "hit" the roster before you can put players on IR? I'm kind of hoping for Leavitt. Zero help on defense and only getting older (29). I don't have much hope for Carpenter on D, but at least he has time to develop yet.
  25. Now highlight the misses. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚
