  1. That was mainly why I went there... everywhere else was just speculation.
  2. I think he had a 70 yarder in preseason too.
  3. Well, that was a really nice first half of the season. With so little time together in the preseason and several key offensive players with injuries, I'm very pleased to see how well they've played together. Not much on the run game yet, but still, I'll take it. Defense has also been solid and good impact from Parsons.
  4. That yardage paint is really hard to run over! They shouldn't put so many coats on it.
  5. The funny thing to me is that Pennel keeps getting beat inside (along with strong hands by Parsons). You'd think he'd compensate and at least make him run around you.
  6. I disagree. He has strong run support and even dropped into coverage at least once (and made the tackle). Neither LVN nor Gary have made much on pass rushes, but that doesn't mean he is playing poorly.
  7. Regardless of winning it or not... Freddie has had a wonderful second half.
  8. Great game. Nice seeing Priester with win #11. Making it into the 7th while under 100 pitches was gravy. But the moment of the game was when my wife walked into the living room and asked if I was watching "one of those banana games". Not the best look for Pittsburgh.
  9. My main gripe about the 15th spot would be that it is better served to sift through a group of young guys in the hunt of a gem. Given our lack of draft picks, we should be spending our limited resources on finding young blood. Yes, it is a long shot and yes, it is somewhat a waste given how much we play the youngsters... but it is still a better use of the spot, IMO. Thanasis can earn $2M as a coach.
  10. There seems to be growing press about Wooden's improvement this offseason. I'm skeptical until I see it (given he is at 290lbs), but my guess is that we will see it. Frankly, he was on my "most likely former draft pick to be cut after TC" list this year... but it sounds like he made a big turnaround. I have to imagine they are playing a lot of 1-gap assignments? Wooden doing a two gapper just doesn't seem logical. And Stackhouse looked like he was moving backwards more than forwards in preseason. 😬
  11. I'm sure I could've made money day trading, but the time it takes just wasn't something I was willing to "invest". Time is something you never get back. Yeah... ouch on the BTC password part. A few years ago, I realized that my wife would have no idea where I invest money so I documented that in our fire safe along with my will. Probably a good reminder to update that as I've consolidated previous 401ks...
  12. Nothing is too stupid for the "Random thoughts that are pointless and too dumb to say anywhere else thread!" 😂 You can also post "Delete me" and one of the mods will delete it.
  13. Mystery ailment is all I can find. I'm hoping he didn't pull his contract muscle...
  14. Yeah, I read somewhere that they haven't updated any of the weights since their rookie year. One article had Wooden in the 290s... but certainly south of 300. Add in that Walker is really bad at getting off blocks and this could be concerning. I guess we weight and see...
  15. I stuck with "Rock" to keep close to the original quote and since that is Bill Schroeder's nickname, it worked.
  16. He was being interviewed at Ueck's service and said all three were stored away now. If I remember right, his mom grabbed the one he used. One went to the Brewers and the other to the MLB? He didn't want to break it... which I can appreciate. But he could make more...
  17. Yes! A fellow Red Raider! I started diving into investing 30 years ago when Motley Fool was new and day trading was going wild. But I realized that this wasn't where I wanted to invest my time. I plugged into index funds and will retire comfortably via the power of time and dollar cost averaging. 'Tis enough for me. Best advice for investing is: Start yesterday. Second best is: Start Today.
  18. The Brewers are currently the #2 offense this season: NYY - 719 runs Brewers - 711 runs. And of course, the first three games of the season gave NYY a 22-run advantage.
  19. Maybe because the Phillies average 4.8 runs/game? Of course... the Brewers are at 5.1 runs/game...
  20. AKA - Preseason Game 4 that actually counts on the schedule. Given how pre-season games are mostly played by backups these days, it would be nice to avoid all games within the division until Game 3 or something like that... kind of like a College schedule. But either way, here we go - head to head with the Lions. How will Love's hand hold up? Or his accuracy with minimal practice? Which WRs will actually be healthy? How will Golden look? How much will Parsons play? What shape will he be in? Who will play C? Can our CBs keep up with Detroit's WRs? How much will the OC/DC change effect the Lions? Did the true brains of the team walk out the door? What will Hutch look like coming back from injury? Will we need to block anyone else? How will Detroit's last minute revamped IOL hold up? Do we have the DTs to make it matter? And while I'm pumped about Parsons... I'm still excited to see a second-year leap from Cooper!!!
  21. Packers.com has a bit of a hole (not to mention no update for Parsons). I'd guess it will come later in the week as there is no motivation to update it now.
  22. Well, we finally have proof of what we all knew... 😉 Shelby Miller signs with Brewers He signed with the Brewers, but never actually played. It was a low risk MiLB deal, but then COVID happened.
