  1. Correct. This is one area where the "rules" are kind of pointless due to all the ways around the rules.
  2. Please keep the Magic number posts focused on the numbers. Plenty of other places to discuss concerns, bad decisions, etc..
  3. Of course, Parsons has a 20% QB pressure rate on Sewell (who has a 7.3% QB pressure rate overall). 😄
  4. I really hope Jenkins didn't catch Parson's back injury...
  5. Nuts. I was hoping that last year's injury recovery would provide a good template for the future of "let's just have him be the enthusiasm coach (i.e. cheerleader) from now on.
  6. I'm really interested to see what Hafely is going to do here to move Parsons around. Rotating Gary, LVN, and Parsons at DE like they normally would with their top 3, of course. Pass rush with a DL of Gary, Wyatt, LVN, and Parson on obvious passing downs. - LVN moving inside to pass rush like Z-Smith used to do. DL of Gary, Wyatt, Wooden, LVN with Parson, Walker, and Cooper at LB - Probably more of a 3-4 front. Seriously - Parsons, Walker, and Cooper at LB... That has to be a blitz package nightmare for our opponents. Ironically, I wonder if drafting Oliver was already going in this direction. Not that I'm comparing Parsons and Oliver in quality, but more in size and how they can be used.
  7. Instant bad take on the trade: So I guess GB is going to have a 2-year run of not drafting a WR in the first round come 2027...
  8. I would add that he put GB on the FA map and instantly became a leader in the clubhouse that needed someone to set the tone.
  9. Legend.
  10. That is the scary part of this. No matter if Clark was aging, he was still our best NT. Depth was already a concern with our rookie NTs moving backwards often in pre-season against backups. As of now, we have Wooden starting at NT and Brinson/Stackhouse as his backups. Stopping the run could be an adventure... but clearly a great move. No one is going to want to pass the ball against us this year.
  11. You are so consistently positive, it is shocking to see you do the opposite...even on rare occasions. 😉
  12. Joe throwing shade at our minor league system? @Joseph Zarr change your password! I think you've been hacked!
  13. Playoffs and win Central division = Happy Losing first round of the playoffs = frustrated Getting to the NLCS = ok finally back! Getting to the WS = YES!!! Winning the WS = LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!!
  14. Yeah, Williams himself probably won't make a huge difference, but depth is depth. The group as a whole can make a big impact though.
  15. Just thought I'd put our final 28 games in context to get the magic number to zero. I debated putting this in the "optimism thread", but here we go! If the Brewers just keep their current winning pace: 61.9% We would go 17-11 and finish with a record of 100-62. Just to tie the Brewers: The Dodgers need to go 23-5 (82.1%) The Cubs or Phillys would need to go 24-5 (82.7%) I like those odds.
  16. Not to knock your predictions, but Gute has become very predictable on who he brings in... most beat writers that were trying to predict waiver wire pickups or the practice squad simply listed a bunch of people that the Packers had on pre-draft visits that were now available. Almost a "water is wet" predictability these days.
  17. Interesting idea in using an OL for jet sweeps... 😂 John Williams is the one on the PUP list (and thus come back mid-season). Savon Williams is on the active 53 man list. 😉
  18. I just noticed that the Steelers and Jets open their seasons against each other. The battle of the QB swap! Will it be one man's trash is another man's treasure? Or just still trash?
  19. I highly doubt that we go into the season with 4 LBs. Pretty low risk of Welch being claimed, so I'd assume he (or another LB) are added to the roster once someone else goes on IR. The team now and the team at mid-season could be very different with Watson, Oliver, Williams, Monk, and Lloyd all potential IR/PUP returnees. Almost like having a mid-season trade.
  20. Which... is also very typical Vikings. Though, perhaps the Vikings depth isn't as good as I thought. I just saw that they kept 7 UDFA rookies this year. Wow!
  21. My point about Slaton's first couple of year's performance was more about potential development path of Stackhouse/Brinson. Right now, I'd bet on Brinson to make the 53-man over Stackhouse (maybe PS for him?). Wouldn't shock me to see a waiver wire claim either.
  22. I'm guessing the latter. JJ has barely played in the preseason; barely played last year... I'm surprised it is taking them this long. Frankly, JJ laying an egg could waste a pretty good team around him.
  23. Yeah, I can get this. They have a lot of key players with a wide range of potential results. Many looks like they could break out...or flop. Likewise with Love. We've seen his ceiling, but was it a flash in the pan or something he can maintain? Is injury prone going to be his monicker? I tend to think they will be above 500, but how much? Sadly, due to all the injuries early, we (at best) will be enduring another 3-4 game "preseason" in the season... Hope for some wins, but these games probably won't tell us much about the team.
