  1. I can't see RP being a need at all for the Brewers, so pass. If we are going to get a rental, I'd like to see a SS/2B/3B player. But I'd still prefer a Yelich-like trade for someone longer term with higher upside at 1B/3B/OF.
  2. I just watched episode one and am both intrigued and confused. I'm not quite sure what this is supposed to be... I'm assuming these are new characters spinning off the Godzilla/King Kong movie series? Is this more about the people or the monsters? What is your impression after watching more than 2 episodes (assuming you did)?
  3. So I started thinking about this topic in a different way recently. What if Arnold is getting too much credit? A few years back, our pitching results started to turn around.... then we lost Derek Johnson and we thought the progress would come crashing down... but it didn't. Improvement continued under Chris Hook. Nov 2023, CC leaves the Brewers for the ScRubs and we thought the winning culture in the clubhouse would erode under Murphy... but the winning ways continue. Oct 2023 (and really all the way back to 2021 when he retired in place), we lost David Sterns to the NYM. David made some excellent trades, FA signings, and general improvement to the drafting process. We thought that all would chase him out the door to deep pocket Yankee-wannabees. But Arnold took over and not much really changed. Now, I'm not saying that either the men that left, nor their replacements haven't had an impact on the Brewer's success, but perhaps the organization as a whole is well run and structured in a manner to precipitate their success? The "it takes a village" type mentality, because the ability to identify talent, develop (or fix) that talent, and put them in a position to succeed is pretty amazing(especially with failed pitching prospects from other teams). If you've ever worked in a company that was poorly run and moved to a company that was setup for success, perhaps you've experienced a touch of this? Just a thought.
  4. Looks like he edited a quoted post to include your nested quote (which was a link about Abreu).
  5. So... they expect to be named and All-Star so they can decline but still get a bonus? 🙄
  6. The opener - I like this idea when the starting lineup is RH/LH heavy and our SP is opposite-handed. No real need otherwise. Piggyback starters - I think we need to handle that for innings management with some of the players. I'd rather have Miz with strong innings come playoff time than "hit the wall" innings.
  7. I tend to lean towards the long-term fixes instead of the rentals. If we are able to swing Lawlar and Smith, that would go a long way to fixing our infield.
  8. But he is 5'8"! 5'8" players are at the heart of our offense! We should trade away Chourio to make room for shorter players. Also 80" high, Areinamo is on his way to take Turang's place at 2B also!
  9. I met a friend's daughter who was staring at her phone. I greeted her and asked her some simple question about herself. She looked up at her phone and stared at me for a couple of seconds...then went back to staring at her phone. To which "stare" do you refer?
  10. We'll do the conversation in the threads
  11. I figured it would be nice to have one summary thread to link all the individual threads together. My brain likes a little organization! 12. @colbyjack still views the board I believe, but he hasn't posted in a couple of years... maybe he'll be nice and give us a few post-draft nuggets! 😏
  13. He sounds like a direct upgrade for Bauer - even to the point of playing the OF (but can he pitch?). Might be a "buy high" candidate given his All Star status. He would need to be a platoon player has he has some pretty stark splits. Thus he and Vaughn could fit together without much issue. Or with Hoskins when he returns. He also has a huge results change going from KC (83 OPS+ in 5 seasons) to Baltimore (126 OPS+ in 3 seasons). Makes me wonder how a team change might impact him?
  14. To be fair, this is what people thought of Blake Perkins when we acquired him.... Who knows? Or maybe we flip him to the Athletics for an all-star player?
  15. This was my point all along. People were insistent that he would lose millions if he had just pitched out of the BP (as if he would suddenly forget how to start??). So instead of pitching out of the BP (where he gains the advantage of not seeing a line-up three times) in front of an excellent defense... he is showing himself to be a bad option as a starter and a player who was unwilling to be flexible for his team and made sure to put himself first.
  16. Koenig was the most surprising out there.... must be something in the water!

  17. Honestly, I tend to prefer the Yelich type trade deals over the rental variety.... even if they are more expensive.
  18. I'm late in posting, but still worth it, IYKYK and chances are that you know the picture and not what "IYKYK" means or vice versa...
  19. I think trading off Quintana for a lottery pick player would make sense at this point with so many SPs available now (and/or soon). We do need to find a 1B/3B that has a bit more offensive potential. I'm guessing that would mean a Freddie trade or a couple of our bigger prospects. But as many have said... a reliever is the most probable.
  20. *CWH double checks Brewers got Cortes and Durbin for Williams in the original trade* Somehow Cortes giving up 8 runs in 8 IP and then getting hurt actually increased his trade value? Are you Cortes' father?
  21. Remember that they have changed how and where they measured from back in those days. Thus, everyone gained 3-4 MPH.
  22. Ironically, I didn't actually watch the game today until the bottom of the 8th inning... but I did listen to the game while mowing. Nice win again tonight.
  23. Maybe I should've clarified... I want a lazy person's outdoor experience! 🤣 Ok, maybe not quite "lazy", but I'm not out to prove my manhood with the hardest and most dangerous activities either. Plus, I have a few kids with disabilities that make that impossible. We like some of the unique experiences or the hidden gem type of stuff. Yellowstone covered wagon ride into the park for a cowboy dinner. Convertable red bus tour on the Road to the Sun through Glacier Chuckwagon dinner show in the Black Hills Light/Moderate hiking trails (2-3 miles) - like Red Rock falls in Glacier, Tettegouche (MN), Copper Falls (WI), BTW, I obviously highly recommend any of my examples above. These are the things that have made my family's vacation memories. I do find it funny that you picked out a spot that sold hotdogs though.... 😏
