  1. I'd guess if Rea doesn't have his late season swoon, he was a no-brainer to keep. Not exactly sure what "happened" to Rea, but it was bad enough to keep him off the playoff roster. Salary is only and always within the context of performance. Pay Ohtani $2M/year? Easy button decision. Paying me $2M/year? Hard pass (for the Brewers... I'd take it!). Rea's extra $4.5M (buyout was guaranteed) doesn't seem like much, but the team must assume he wasn't going to get better than his current form...and potentially regress (he turns 35 next year). It also wouldn't surprise me to find out that 40man roster spots played into the decision.
  2. If I were to pick one main failure yesterday, I'd say Love's performance was the major factor. Very poor decision making - the pick 6, so many deep passes to covered WRs, inaccurate throws... Just a very poor day on Love's behalf. I REALLY hope that two pick 6s in a season with silly throws will cement that he needs to take care of the ball better. Love has only had two games statistically worse than yesterday since he became the full-time starter (2023+), but I'm sure his late game statistics padding helped avoid being the worst. He just didn't look good. I really think Malik should've come in the 2nd half. WR drops certainly didn't help him. Jenkins snaps were bad. Penalties up the wazzoo. Weird playcalls from MLF. Defense was actually decent. I'm sure part of that was Detroit playing the clock kill game for most of the 2nd half, but they weren't the main problem at least. That certainly was one of the ugliest and ill-prepared game I've seen from the Packers in a while. Can't go into games with Detroit and Minnesota and lay an egg like those two games have been and expect to be SB contenders. I wonder how we will look against Chicago with two weeks to prepare.
  3. Can we please drop whether Turbo was "insistent" or not. That was so last year... (and bordering on getting posts hidden). Let's go back to what Hoskins brings to the Brewers in 2025 and if he can earn his paycheck.
  4. Now that we have two players with GGs, vote so one gets the Platinum! https://www.rawlings.com/gold-glove-platinum.html Poll is open until Nov 8th and unlike on Nov 5th, vote early and vote often!
  5. Edited the title to reflect both winners. Very cool to have one, awesome to have two!
  6. Don't think that was on him. McDuffie and X blitzed into the same gap. X tried to slide over, but that gap was wide open. Walker was lined up far to the left and not the middle.
  7. Adding some details as I was a bit confused by what this meant to the Brewers: Brewer's bought out a club option of $10.5M by paying Williams $250k Williams is eligible for arbitration estimated to be $7.7-9M No real changes to our control on Williams, just looking to save $1-2M. Not really shocking knowing the options the Brewers had.
  8. While it is surprising to cut Rea, he certainly had a real downturn at the end of the year. Not sure if he wore down, was figured out, or what happened. Obviously the Brewers felt that $8M wasn't worth the chance.
  9. One has to wonder if this game might be better suited for Malik. Healthy Malik +bad weather > Injured Love?
  10. Well that is a disturbing trend of panic INTs.
  11. Namely catching the ball and not making penalties...
  12. We are also one of the youngest (or was it the youngest?) team in the NFL. Mistakes do come with youth. Not an excuse, but it is part of the learning curve unfortunately.
  13. My only thought was Branch dips his head right into Melton's helmet... Seems like the old NCAA rules for DQ
  14. Wow, if Melton doesn't get a concussion from that I'd be shocked
  15. Slaton right on top of the ball and can't notice that it wasn't snapped...
  16. He does seem to miss key games... Vikings and now Lions.
  17. Brady's voice is very nasal. They should auto-tune him to give him more bass.
  18. Given how slick it is and that Nixon was sent into equipment (actually hurdled it, but then almost fell) it should've been called. No reason for a cheap shot like that. Nixon was pretty lucky to not get hurt.
  19. But he was out of bounds... well out of bounds.
  20. Nixon shoved in the back out of bounds and he gets the PF.
  21. Any given Sunday, injuries or not. Lets GOOOO!
  22. Or even who to block... Right before the incredible TD catch, the Jets ran a failed WR screen. Mike Williams inexplicably tried to block a CB that was covering another WR, leaving his CB free to run in and drop the play for a 3-4 yard loss. It was really obvious who he was supposed to block, but still ran after the other CB... I'm sure Rodgers will have a few choice words for him in their next film session.
  23. Great. For Halloween, the Bucks dressed up as Apathy and Lethargy. These guys don't look like they even want to be out there. No idea what PC brings to the team anymore. He can't shoot. He is out of position on D. Yet they give him so much playing time. Giannis' free throws are embarrassing. They should make a deal that he can't shoot jumpers farther than the FT line if he can't shoot better than 70% of his FTs. The entire offense just looks like people standing around and watching the player with the ball... Just bad stuff.
