  1. Freddy doesn't go deep enough into games to get ace money. I would offer 3 years - $69M, and assume I will be turned down. Then plan on trading him this offseason.
  2. I don't see how they would do major upgrades without actually owning that minor league team. So sure if Carolina facilities are behind. But they don't own the Appleton team do they - I haven't kept up?
  3. Well you know the White Sox are just going to trade him in July. So they have to get their markup or admin fees for taking him off our hands now and holding him for a month.😎
  4. His whip is a little high, but with his ground ball rate, it would seem the double plays would cover that up. If he just throws 5+ innings of 4.0 ERA ball for the 3 minimum wage years and 3 arby years - that is a ton of value. And hopefully with maturity and a tweak or two he will improve on that. Sure seems like a good, to great trade as of today.
  5. Why? I don't see any guarantee he is going to be better than anyone we have pitching now, with the likelihood he will be pitching worse. Civale is the only one not pitching great, and he is also working his way back also. So take him out for Woodruff? I'm great with slow-playing his recovery until he is needed. The one advantage to not having a bunch of high-paid players on the roster, is if they aren't doing great you don't feel compelled to play them. Just because he is getting paid alot should not be a factor in this at all.
  6. I assume we aren't strictly talking about 2 strike pitches. So I would think the main way it helps the pitcher is that he gets ahead in the count. All those batting stats that move way down when the batter is 0-1 / 1-2 versus an even count.
  7. I assume MA has cloned an extinct dodo bird for a feather pillow. But that has nothing to do with the Brewers finances, that's his personal life. Two things. He has partners owners that assume he can't just dictate the team finances to. And I guess I am in the minority that I don't feel he should run a deficit annually if the Brewer media, ticket sales and all other revenue are not enough to expand the team's budget. For all I know they lose money annually now and the team floats it with debt knowing if/when they sell the team that is when the owner(s) makes their haul. But in the mean time, that increased club valuation doesn't provide any more cash flow to the team's player budget.
  8. Are baseball activities, like sitting in the dugout keeping the book?😎
  9. I believe need to be subscriber: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6273808/2025/04/16/mlb-top-10-front-offices-executive-vote/ As we did last year, The Athletic polled 40 of the top decision-makers from across the sport .... – and offered anonymity in exchange for unvarnished insights into how their rivals do it. It’s not just that the Brewers do more with less. It’s the fact that the big spenders keep poaching their leaders, yet Milwaukee keeps right on winning. Owner Mark Attanasio lost GM David Stearns to the Mets and manager Craig Counsell to the Cubs, but recognized there was no overhaul needed. Instead of hiring from the outside, he promoted Matt Arnold and Pat Murphy. “To not miss a beat, I think says a lot about the organization,” said one AL GM. “The organization’s culture has carried itself.” ........... and more

  10. Unless there is a downside to giving the shot itself (idk?), why not give it regardless of projected recovery time if there is any reason to think it could help an iota?
  11. 84-78. Chourio, Hoskins and Mitchell are bright spots, but starting staff is subpar and our luck runs out in the bullpen and we lose alot of 5-4 games.
  12. Yeah, I love Mitchell more than the next guy, but .300 / 1.000 OPS might be asking too much. How about .270 / .875 OPS and stellar defense?
  13. I would think the White Sox hold out for more than that package.
  14. He is on pace to match HRs and RBIs, but there is a huge difference in those stat lines. He is not on pace to match that type of hitting this year.
  15. Brewers saving $12M Renfroe 2023 money, while opening up space for a youngster. Renfroe is worth $12M in today's market, but for the Brewers a no-brainer with the min.wage options coming up. Now I assume they have some wiggle room for trading deadline pickup if they need to spend some money for it.
  16. So as of today, you can see the Brewers on DirecTV, Charter/Comcast cable, FUBO, direct Ballysports $20month subscription, and maybe something AT&T? Is that correct?
  17. If Contreras is still one year of pre-arby this year, so we have control for 4 years, it sure seems like a great deal. I guess Oakland really loved Ruiz, or there was no reason to include Milwaukee.
  18. You have to offer Houser arby. If he pitches like 2021, he is worth much, much more than he will get in arby.

  20. I think we keep Renfroe one more year. Arby raises will probably be more in the $18M-$20M range. So $8M is too much I think for the teams total budget to handle to retain Wong. As I don't know if Turang's bat will be enough, best case scenario there is a 3B that is ready to try the majors that matches up with a trade for Mitchell, then Urias to 2B. Frelick is CF with Taylor the 4th OF. Wiemer in the minors getting ready in case of injury. If one of Burnes/Woody is traded, then I can see Wong being kept for one more year.

  22. You don't cost/benefit to see if Boxberger is worth $3M. You review to see if Box is worth $2.25M. The buyout is a sunk cost. At that price, and assuming Taylor Rogers is gone, I would think the Brewers retain him for one more year.
