  1. Manfredi hit another batter - on the top of the helmet. Either is command is way, way, way off, or some shenanigans are going on. C'mon Shuckers just get outs and move along. What is going on here??
  2. And a bunch of Chattanooga personnel (I think coaches only?) get thrown out. Next pitch Manfredi throws the pitch and Ibarra (who has killed Biloxi this series) just crushes a 2 run HR. Oh boy it's a 12-8 game now. Yikes. C'mon Manfredi settle in and let's get these outs here.
  3. As I was looking up Bitonti's absence, Shuckers offense decided to put up a TD (no extra point) and it is now 12-6!! Wow, going to bottom of 7, and Manfredi in for his 2nd inning. And he hits the first batter. Uh oh. Looking through the box scores: TRats with 10 runs on 12 hits and 11 walks, they left 9 on base, could have done more damage. They answered the call for offense. Sounds with 9 hits, 2 of which were Dalbec bombs. Mudcats - at least Made had a good day at the plate 2-3 with 2 walks.
  4. Just curious - has anyone heard or seen anything on Bitonti? He hasn't played since 6/11 (Wed). And if he is getting a mental break time off, wonder if Braylon Payne can use that as well. Finally on the Mudcats - fun exercise - this team is as young as Freshman dominated college squad, wonder how they would fare in the CWS with all those 18-20 years, with Hernandez/Meccage/Smith/Dubanewica as the starters....
  5. Well, it looks like most of the offenses woke up. Wow Biloxi and Wisconsin!!!
  6. Outside of Nashville a pretty inauspicious start across the board. As you can imagine, not a lot of hits for the affiliates (yes early on in most games) but just not a lot offense. Hoping that the pitching can hold up, but a lot of shorter outings (Birchard already out) as most are the Tuesday starters I believe. Going for a run, hoping the offenses can find a way to come alive
  7. Ok. I’ll be in the minority and play devil’s advocate. I also am one who doesn’t love the “bites of the apple” approach. Even though I have been a fan and followed Brewer baseball from 1987 on, and watched the 1993 - 2007 decade and a half of losing baseball with no playoffs. Now I am all for the team trying to remain competitive, but this season does not seem likely (yes I know it’s not even July 4 yet), but with Contreras playing hurt and struggling, Yelich being streaky, and first half players like Frelick and Turang not having seen the second half yet, I would punt on this season, and try to continue the build around Contreras, Chourio, Peralta, MIs, and add the prospects along the way. I would love to see a team that is division’s best and challenge the top teams like 2018, 2021, and what could have been in 2024. But I’ll be happy to be wrong if the team forces itself into the buyers market with a solid July. But right now the tea leaves I see are telling me they can remain in the wild card chase, but don’t feel like a top contender.
  8. Funny thing is that the box score still has the pitcher J. Lugo listed as the batter who was catcher for the DSL Blue club, when in all likelihood it was probably Y. Lugo, although that is still not adjusted in the MiLB scoreboard, so who knows? Maybe Justin Lugo is converting to catching, in which case,he went 2-4 in his debut😉
  9. Either way I’ll take his development as if he does K more but with more gap power, his defense is steady, not great, but good at all three IF spots (granted I’ve seen him most at 2B and SS but I believe he has played 3B and I didn’t notice so that’s good/bad). He has been a nice prospect to watch this season, particularly in light of Bitonti and Payne significant struggles and Adamczewski’s injury, it’s really now Made/Pena/DiTuri at the moment just trying to keep that offense afloat.
  10. And TRats still have nothing going offensively. 9-1 in the 6th. Mudcats get one back but still trail 7-5. And only 7 hits to get those 5 runs. Shuckers 0-0 early. Also - ready for this - getting outhit.
  11. Maybe I need to turn it off. After a K by Flores, the next batter (Hawke) gets a double and it’s now 6-4 deficit for the Mudacts. Man this slump is real, and not fun to watch. TRats go down in order. Offense did not wake up. OK I’ll take a quick break.
  12. And Welch’s night is done after a triple. It’s now 5-4 Hillcats lead. And Flores is in. Garcia gets out of the 3rd, but it’s a 7-1 deficit. TRats will need to get the offense going and hold the Loons off the board from here on out if they have a chance to start a comeback/
  13. Gulp. 2 more runs. 7-1 Loons over TRats. And Welch walks the next batter. Yikes. These two college draft picks from last year are not finding their footing tonight.
  14. Ok. I won’t praise any pitchers anymore 😟 ‘Chandler Welch walks first batter of the 6th and gives up a HR. Tied game now. Ugh. Garcia gives up a pair more runs. 5-1 deficit..
  15. Oh boy. I’m not watching but Juan Baez ejected after a ground out - must have been upset with the call??? I’ll try to watch later. Sam Garcia ok, but Dinges with a K, and PB and a catcher interference error already. Carolina clinging to a 4-2 lead. Chandler Welch through 5. Only 1 BB which will be the key for him. 7 hits allowed, but only 1 XBH. Maybe he can turn the corner this summer in Carolina.
  16. And Yeager gives up a 2-out single - stop me if you heard that before - but gets the next batter to pop out. 7-2 Shuckers win. An incredible first half continues for them. Let’s hope Cornielle can match Crow this evening in the night capper. TRats tied the game then give up 2 runs. And it’s a 3-1 game early. Let’s see if their magic can continue.
  17. Not a ton of hits throughout the organization today. But Biloxi getting a bunch of runs trying to close out a 7-2 game in the 9th. Mudcats with a rare lead.
  18. It seems that the team has used Arizona Complex, Wisconsin and Nashville mostly as rehab sites (ie for Woodruff, Quero, Quintana this year; and last year it seems the Complex to Wisconsin to AA was the most common route I believe) EDIT: Or as @wiguy94said - mainly Complex to AAA for hitters, and Complex to Wisconsin to AA for pitching maybe?
  19. And we have a hit. Golf claps Donato with a single. Then a few batters later Christopher Acosta with a 2-run triple. Alright brewers gold on,y down 8-3. Brewers Blue need some runs please. The DSL scoreboard watching is much different than last years clubs
  20. There is still a no hitter going. Bottom of 5, Orioles Orange up 8-0, and still no hit for the DSL Brewers Gold. So just to sum it up, they haven't had a hit in the game, that's no hits so far for the Orioles Orange pitchers. 😉
  21. Not 100% as yesterday on my laptop I tried to open this article directly and it was blocked, this morning using your link on my tablet I got it 🤷‍♂️ Either way a good read. I like Curt’s info. Please continue to share - if not I at least get to his X page and get some insight or videos.
  22. It’s a jinxed week @Joseph Zarr
  23. Thanks again @ARobsBrewCrew for all the input. For minor league junkies like me it is so nice to have some of this input, even if it is bad news sometimes. Still so grateful for it.
  24. Wow I guess so. Maybe the crazy ACL games have thrown me off. 😉 I was away last week, so was not paying as close attention, and may have just caught the handful of game reports this week where there wasn't a lot of runs. And also so spoiled from last year where the lineup was OPS > .800 top to bottom, now we only have like 2 or 3 in the lineup with those types of offensive numbers. Gonna be hard to beat last years DSL squads. This week of minor leagues has really been a little more difficult with the wrong side of blow outs, or walk offs. Better things ahead, and I hope to be fully entertained tonight 🤞
  25. Is it me, or does the DSL seem really low scoring this year? Maybe it was because of the juggernaut squad last year, but not a lot of 10-8 games, more 4-2 games in general with both DSL squads.
