  1. Yikes! He had a 35 pitch first inning and gave up 4 earned runs on five hits, a walk, and a hit batter. He must not have total arm strength back or some control issues?
  2. He started at 1b on Sunday going 0 for 1 with 2 walks. I wonder what the management is thinking?
  3. It is good to see fallen prospects like Lara and Taylor doing so well. I hope they keep it up. It is also great to see fringe type prospects like Ramirez, Tucker Neuhaus, Joantgel Sergovia, and Thomas Jankins kicking butt. Joantgel is hitting over .400 as of today. If we continue to have these type players perform like they are , there will be lots of optimism in our farm system.
  4. He was right at 30 in our Pre-Season poll. I love his performance and had him rated our seventh best prospect. I am looking at a number 3 type MLB pitcher as his ceiling and MLB long relief as his floor. Their is not much to dislike.
  5. Thanks for joining me for dinner. I am glad you like the dark meat as I am a breast man!
  6. I didn't say I wanted to sign him to a multi-year contract. I now have a glimpse of hope he will have ongoing success.
  7. I will have a double serving, please. I am not buying in completely, but if he can do what he did last night three out of four times, I will be eating more bird. Would anyone else like to join me for dinner?
  8. 9-13 with 140 games to go?
  9. We will see what Suter does today. It may be his last start if the Cubbies mash him. I really hope he makes them look silly and gets the win.
  10. 2.2 of no hit ball today. I would like to se a little longer stints, but maybe they are treating him like Williams of a year ago.
  11. So true, we have like 4 starters in AAA with right at 2.00 ERAs, another 4 in AA and Supak in Carolina. Here is my order of who I would call up... 1. Woodruff, no brainer. 2. Derby, I don't care about starting his clock. 3. Houser, clock has already started 4. Burnes, I don't want to start his clock...just yet. 5. Peralta, same as Burnes. 6. Ramirez, Hell I will take 2-3 innings from him 7. Mederios, I really don't want to start the clock of anyone below spot. 8. Ortiz 9. Ponce 10. Supak 11. Miley, ole crafty veteran.
  12. Miley very unimpressive today... giving up three home runs in three innings and four earned runs... at least he did not walk anybody!
  13. Junior needs to get a month of starts to prove that he isn't the pitcher he was two years ago. Ride that horse until he stops running! Keep riding that horse! Get along little doggie! Another five innings of very good pitching!
  14. And he is batting 1.000, along with 3 other players on MKE!
  15. I think you and him are accurate in your evaluations!
  16. Just moved to AAA. He pitched well after Burnes pitched shutout ball. At 28 does he have a shot a the Bigs with MKE?
  17. Check Response #25 So your entire basis for not wanting to reduce the schedule is just to preserve consistency so historical records can be compared? Sorry, I disagree with that...a lot. That's just really unrealistic to expect total consistency in a 150 year old sport just so we don't have to debate whether 60 from Ruth or 61 from Maris was better. So should we have remained always in the deadball era too? The sport changed drastically from 1920 compared to the 50 years before that. Other things besides a schedule length influence record comparison. Changing ballpark dimensions (imagine the Polo grounds for today's game.), PED use. What about expansion? The game had half the teams a century ago, you don't think that's affected comparison? Things change over time in sports, just the way it is. You can't fight change every time just on the basis of record comparison. Imagine comparing today's game to baseball in 1918 -- they would not be comparable even if both played the same schedule. Thank you for disagreeing....a lot. Your opinion is yours.
  18. So why does this logic apply for you now, but not in the 1960s when prior "tradition" was 154 games? Check Response #25
  19. Anthony Rizzo would like that. Me that was way before I was born.
  20. Three solid innings last night . Hope he can continue the with similar success!
  21. I'm tired of "That's the way it's always been" being justification for anything. I like records being able to be judged against each other in a fair way. And because of that I like some things to stay the same. Changing from 162 ruins the way we can judge one era against another. Please don't use the argument that it was changed from 154 to 162. They should have not done that either. Is that better? I hope you can get some rest.
  22. I am tired of people trying to change tradition because they think it. Some times it is like it or leave.
  23. My bottom line is if you don't get some sort of discount, don't make the trade.
  24. Now if Nottingham can smash in MKE that would be sweet! and by the way... the crickets are subsiding! Hope there is no jinx.
