  1. I say Casey has won the 3B spot and maybe the brewers brass will finally shift Gamel to 1B or RF. Because Taylor Green is no match AA pitching, it probably makes moving Gamel all the easier.
  2. I think we could afford Oswals 16 mil in 2011. If DM pulled of that trade it would give the crew a decent playoff rotation... Gallardo, Oswalt, Wolf, and Bush. 2011 rotation would look like Oswalt, Gallardo, Wolf, Estrada, Narverson.
  3. I personally hate this topic but its 249 a.m. and I am sick of studying organic chemistry. I dont think macha's personality fits the brewers roster at all (therefore bad hire by DM). If the brewers arent going anywhere this season I wouldnt mind seeing Randoph or Don Money get the interim job
  4. As soon as the brewers figure out what they want to do with parra , narveson, and suppan they will be able to make room for stetter and then braddock. Here is how I think they should align their pitchers (by end of May i.e. after super 2 cut off) SP: Gallardo, Wolf, Bush, Davis, and Narveson. BP Hoffman, Hawkins, Coffee, Villanueva, stetter, Braddock, and parra (or vargas). Looking at next season our only starting pitchers with guaranteed contracts are gallardo and wolf (davis has an option and Narveson could still be under team control). If davis has a less than stellar year hopfully DM would decline his option and the 2011 rotation would be Gallardo, Wolf, Naverson, and a choice of Estrada, Lofgren, Parra, or free agents like BUSH, Davis, Bedard, Corriea, Vazquez, webb, and Milwood. The reason why I looked at next years starting rotation was to point out how important it is to keep both Narveson and Parra. EDIT: odd font
  5. I would first call up Stetter and then Braddock. It would be nice to be able to keep him in the minors until the super two deadline (assuming Hawkins gets his act together).
  6. COL: 1-2 STL: 1-2 @CHC: 2-1 @WSH: 2-1 @PIT: 2-1 CHC: 1-2 PIT: 2-1 @SD: 1-1 12-11 3 +3 + 5= 11
  7. 10:0 K/BB shows that his control is more the sufficient this spring. I have a feeling he will be more valuable 25 man roster than keeping Supp for pitching depth.
  8. What are Villa's numbers this spring? I havent heard anything about him except that he has an option left.
  9. I truly feel if escobar bats in front of braun he can be in the .280 -.290 range. Macha seems to like Gomez's stealing ability, so bat him 9th and when he gets on base he can snag second. In my opinion this is the best way for the brewers to put pressure on the opposing pitching staff.
  10. How come Doug Davis is not in the starting rotation or anywhere??? with that being said, put Parra in the bullpen and Lofgren to AAA starting with villa. Hopefully Axford or Braddock will dominate this year so we can just cut ties with sup
  11. Good to know, I was wondering why there wasnt any news
  12. If the Macha puts Escobar in the 9 hole, will it be Hart or McGehee be batting 2nd? Please don’t say Zaun!
  13. NO to Axford and Anundsen and Farris would be though to stomach. I would be ok with the others
  14. I think to answer this question all you have to do is list the 5 prospects that have the most potential. In other words, if every thing went right for these 5 players who would be the most dominate in the bigs? Brett Law Eric Arnett Kentrail Davis Kyle Heckathorn Cody Scarpetta I also would like to come back years from cain and jeffress
  15. SINGLE GAME TICKETS GO ON SALE EITHER 2/20 OR 2/27. the only reason i know is because i always get a 20pack but have not purchased it yet. My season ticket account rep told my the 2 possible dates.
  16. With these recent move i have become confused who will be on the bench (IF&OF) for the brewers. Can someone list the probable possibilities? I prefer to have Heether and/or Iribarren,
  17. Thank you for people finally backing up Bush! He was the only pitcher to win a playoff game for the brewers in 26 years. Just because he doesnt have dominating stuff doesnt mean he should be cut. 2 times (I think) he has worked in to the 8th or 9th inning looking for a no hitter. I just get the feeling that the people that want to dump bush dont know what they are talking about. They certainly cant make a sound argument why Bush should be dumped. If we dump his 5/6th of his 4 million contract it wont give us enough room to get another pitcher. Not to mention he is more reliable than Suppan and Parra. I say put Sup in bullpen and use him as a 6th starter, if Naverson proves himself worthy in spring training it will be worth cutting Suppan.
  18. I cant wait to go to some of these games. Every game the starting pitcher(an/or piggyback) will have a legitimate shot to be a starting pitcher in the bigs. Arnett, Odorizzi, Heckathorn, Howell, Bucci, Lasker, Nieves, and maybe even Brooks Hall at the end of the season.
  19. thanks battlekow, this is much needed info."has a chance" to start the season pretty much means he wont be ready til may or march, if even that. I liked the Riske signing a decade ago and think he could be a good contributor- especially in 5 and 6th inning. But we have too many RP for too few of spots. It will be a blessing if he doesnt start the season and maybe plugs a hole if someone goes down with an injury.
  20. I wouldnt be disappointed at all even though I wouldn't mind if they kept him around, but only if he is able to build upon his success of last year and prove he can come out of the pen in spring training. I would rather put Chuck Lofgren roster if he proves to have command, which will make him a good 2nd LOOGY. Plus we should have plenty of SP's in AAA.
  21. you may joke about it, but unless sheet brings down his asking price to $9,999,998 there is no way the brewers can afford him!
  22. What are the possibilities for the bullpen now that one of Suppan/Bush/Parra will be out of the rotation Locks CL Trevor Hoffman SU LaTroy Hawkins SU Todd Coffey RP Mitch Stetter RP Claudio Vargas 2 Remaining spots RP Jeff Suppan RP David Riske RP Chuck Lofgren RP Carlos Villanueva RP Chris Narveson My guess is that one spot goes to Suppan. I would prefer to keep either Naverson/ Lofgren, just depends on which one has the better spring. Send Villa to AAA, assuming he has options. But the only problem is if Riske is actually healthy
  23. Besides of knocking Suppan out of the rotation, this is the highlight of the signing
  24. Accoding to TH Gomez signed 1.1
