I found the batting average leaders quite interesting [pre]Pos Player.. AVG OBP SLG Batting Avg Rank (MLB) C Lucroy.. 0.341 0.405 0.536 2 1B Fielder. 0.247 0.360 0.360 122 2B Gennett. 0.305 0.340 0.459 20 3B McGehee. 0.311 0.376 0.388 12 SS Escobar. 0.292 0.331 0.401 32 LF Brantley 0.323 0.391 0.519 7 CF Gomez... 0.312 0.379 0.540 11 RF Braun... 0.279 0.326 0.495 52 Bench 1 Cain.... 0.315 0.351 0.416 11* Bench 2 Cruz.... 0.299 0.367 0.602 25 Bench 3 Ramirez. 0.274 0.323 0.447 67 Bench 4 Hardy... 0.289 0.318 0.356 37[/pre] * Cain doesn't "Qualify" on the ranking list on fangraphs until he gets 30 more AB's 1. I know, we can't have Hardy and Gomez but still, that was a great trade. 2. Every position would be in the top 32 in AVG (in all of baseball) except Braun / Fielder. 3. Who would of thought when we traded Brantley or even most recently Cain/Escobar, that they would have a better AVG than Braun and Fielder in 2014? 4. Maybe all teams could do this (find players who were on their team and build this type of list) - but I find it interesting that a good majority of this list came through our system. What does this tell you? - I don't know - don't make trades? But even with this lineup, I am not sure if I would trade the wild card year and 2011 for it.
