  1. Way to go Yo ... A relief pitcher got a hit off of you.
  2. Game 7 and a lefty is on the mound - do you start Weeks or Scooter?
  3. The Brewers will not see much change in their lineup until after the 2015 season. Ramirez, Lohse, Gallardo are all free agents after next season. Then Gomez the year after that. I agree with Svuem and a Sept 2018 call up sounds about right. Even if one gets fast tracked as they tear up Rookie ball this year and A ball next year. Then have a big year in 2016 at AA. They could be walking into the 2017 season destined for AAA with a Spring Training invite. If they play a position of need that year and they are doing well in AAA then maybe they could find their way up in 2017. Even Nelson who walked up the chain was drafted in 2010 and is finally seeing action this year.
  4. Fixed it for you Man who saw this coming though. Both Weeks and Uggla in early 2011, most seem to think these were fair deals. Braves are now eating the remainder of this salary ($13 mil in 2014 and 2015) ... and the Brewers are glad Week's 2015 option won't vest. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/braves-to-release-dan-uggla.html
  5. Or as CBS said: @CBSNews: Michael Jeter takes bow at his final All-Star game They then said: @CBSNews: Whoops, we meant to say DEREK Jeter takes bow at his final All-Star game http://t.co/csJROOgNWU
  6. 1250 was talking about this and to me it goes: 1. Health - we have to stay healthy. Health is always the most important piece. Teams who can minimize injuries always have a leg up. 2. Starting Pitching has to continue to be above the MLB average and ultimately get even better. We have a starters ERA of 3.86. 8 NL teams have a better starters Team ERA than us. We need an improvement there. 3. Ryan Braun - A hot bat from Ryan Braun is important to me as he lives for the spotlight. Has the capability to carry team by himself. To me, he is the hitter that is the key to our offense staying at a high level.
  7. I agree. The sideways hat, the bow and arrow after the strike out. The unorthodox delivery. Just not a fan.
  8. 55 degrees here in Milwaukee, National game, Buck calling game on Fox, commercials about MLB playoffs; feels like October! ... Here is to hoping we get some déjà vu of the Brew Crew tearing it up again come October.
  9. Glad to see the Brewers show up today. Vote Luc for MVP : http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2014/mvp/ballot.jsp?tcid=EngRD-mvpballot-2014
  10. and even odder is there being only 1 lefty (out of 10 contestants) in the HR derby tonight
  11. Starting lineup for the NL [pre]CF McCutchen RF Puig SS Tulowitzki 1B Goldschmidt DH Stanton 3B Ramirez 2B Utley (L) C Lucroy LF Gomez[/pre] Wainwright is the starting pitcher. Matheny said he gave the CF starting nod to McCutchen due to him winning the MVP. (True, but Cargo won the gold glove award. Just saying.) Hopefully having the Brewers all batting together can have them score some runs together. For the AL: [pre]SS Jeter LF Trout 2B Cano (L) 1B Cabrera RF Bautista DH Cruz CF Jones 3B Donaldson C Perez[/pre] Felix will be the starter for the AL
  12. Ya - there could have been something going on. You never know. As a father of 3, I just couldn't imagine what this would be like. I feel horrible for Jean and the many others who have to experience this truly tragic event. My condolences to the Segura family.
  13. But thanks for being the positive voice out there. We all need it.
  14. Really hard to be positive at 1-10. How many World Series winners had a 1-10 stretch?
  15. @AdamMcCalvy: Gallardo is stymied by the Cardinals again. No-decision leaves him 1-11 against them lifetime. We play the cardinals two weeks after the break. They better line it up so he never has to face them. He flat out sucks against them.
  16. What kind of hitters park is Tuscon where he has played in 2011, 2012? Maybe it is a launching pad and teams are discounting the performance? Looking at his Japanese team, his OPS was only the 5th best on the team. Good call Roderick .... Here are his splits in 11 and 12 2011 Home: 213 AB /.329 / .382 / .554 / .936 Away: 249 AB /.261 / .347 / .450 / .797 2012 Home: 223 AB / .332 / .393 / .596 / .989 Away: 222 AB / .248 / .341 / .414 / .755
  17. It was funny, I was just going to make a post that said Matt Clark - what is his story? http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=clark-002mat&mobile=false The bad news is unless the Brewers want to cut ties with Overbay, I just don't see how he fits in. Or, if you send Schafer down than you could keep three 1B as Clark has played both corner OF spots. (But if Gomez needs to sit then Braun would be our CF) I am pretty dumbfounded how a career .283 / .361 / .494 / .855 hasn't sniffed 1 AB in the big leagues. Whose dog did he kick? And this is spread out over 6 seasons with 1,070 AAA plate appearances. His career AAA line is .291 / .365 / .500 / .865. So minor league experts - what gives?
