  1. I agree. Here is a fun stat per Joe Block - he now leads all 2nd basemen in SLG with .474 ... Not to shabby for a "singles" hitter who won't amount to much.
  2. Glad to see Scooter's continued success. Keep it going Scooter
  3. Also, they have a considerable amount of construction going on - so if you do not stay downtown - be aware as the commute time has increased with all the road construction.
  4. I have been going to Toronto for the last 8 years and have stayed at the Rodgers center's attached hotel (The Renassaince) for the past 5. The stadium is old and outdated but the surround area is great. Also, be sure to talk to your cell provider otherwise you can rack up hundreds of dollars in cell charges. Here are some drinking & dining suggestions. (All walking distance) 1. Best Sports Bar (They have a 39 foot HD TV. It is awesome. Plus 200 "small" tv's. - The Real Sports Bar - http://realsports.ca/BarAndGrill/Toronto/ 2. Outdoor patio pub - Gabby's - http://www.gabbys.ca/ 3. 5. Brewers plate 3 on a wild pitch. Date: June 21st MLB.com game recap : http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_06_21_milmlb_colmlb_1&mode=recap&c_id=mil Video: http://m.brewers.mlb.com/mil/video/v33918329 IGT: viewtopic.php?p=900362&f=63#p900362 Summary : 1. Bases loaded with Peralta at the plate. 2. Wild pitch and the ball hits backstop and kicks up first baseline (important) 3. Ramirez scores from 3rd and there is a wild throw plating Reynolds. 4. Then the fun begins. 5. Friedrich (Rockies pitcher) isn't paying any attention after picking up the ball near the Brewers dugout. Didn't even bother throwing the ball to get Reynolds. So Segura takes a page out of little league and nonchalantly starts walking towards home. With not one Rockies player paying any attention, Segura takes off for home and slides in safe just past Friedrichs diving attempt to tag him. 6. We shall never see this play again. 7. I love baseball
  6. Figured we should have a running log of the most memorable moments from 2014. Jonathan Lucroy's grand slam vs the gritty Dbacks, after Braun plunking. Some links: Date: June 17th MLB Game Recap : http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_06_17_milmlb_arimlb_1&mode=recap_away&c_id=mil Video: http://m.mlb.com/video/v33822799/?query= IGT : viewtopic.php?p=899153#p899153 Summary: 1. Pitch 1 vs Braun goes way behind him. 2. Ump immediately walks out and was like what was that? 3. Pitch 2 nails Braun to load bases 4. Pitcher gets tossed immediately. 5. DBacks dugout goes nuts high fiving the pitcher like he won the game. Including a fist bump from Gibson. 6. Pitch 1 vs Lucroy ... grand slam.
  7. I could be wrong in my math (sorry if so) here is how I got 206: 162 total innings in 2013. 162 x 1.275 = 206 For the %, I took 162 - 127 (2012 total innings) = 35 (so a 35 inning increase) 35/127 = .275
  8. 2012 = 127.1 2013 = 152 minor league innings. Plus 10 in MLB. Total = 162. (27.5% increase from 2012.) He has pitched 83.1 in the minors this year + 5.2 in MLB. Total so far is 89 innings. If they stick to the same 27% increase he will have 206 innings allowed this year. My opinion on Thornburg is he will not see starting time this year. Maybe next year in Spring.
  9. I found the batting average leaders quite interesting [pre]Pos Player.. AVG OBP SLG Batting Avg Rank (MLB) C Lucroy.. 0.341 0.405 0.536 2 1B Fielder. 0.247 0.360 0.360 122 2B Gennett. 0.305 0.340 0.459 20 3B McGehee. 0.311 0.376 0.388 12 SS Escobar. 0.292 0.331 0.401 32 LF Brantley 0.323 0.391 0.519 7 CF Gomez... 0.312 0.379 0.540 11 RF Braun... 0.279 0.326 0.495 52 Bench 1 Cain.... 0.315 0.351 0.416 11* Bench 2 Cruz.... 0.299 0.367 0.602 25 Bench 3 Ramirez. 0.274 0.323 0.447 67 Bench 4 Hardy... 0.289 0.318 0.356 37[/pre] * Cain doesn't "Qualify" on the ranking list on fangraphs until he gets 30 more AB's 1. I know, we can't have Hardy and Gomez but still, that was a great trade. 2. Every position would be in the top 32 in AVG (in all of baseball) except Braun / Fielder. 3. Who would of thought when we traded Brantley or even most recently Cain/Escobar, that they would have a better AVG than Braun and Fielder in 2014? 4. Maybe all teams could do this (find players who were on their team and build this type of list) - but I find it interesting that a good majority of this list came through our system. What does this tell you? - I don't know - don't make trades? But even with this lineup, I am not sure if I would trade the wild card year and 2011 for it.
  10. I agree that Herrera starting is really a no win situation but with Braun slumping, I just don't see why keeping him in the lineup will help. Let him take the day off - no need for him to get plunked again by the gritty d-backs - and get back on it in Colorado (a hitters dream.) I hope none of our top hitters have off in Colorado.
  11. Braun's last 14 days netted a triple slash of .154 / .241 / .269 ... So he is desperately needing some time off. Lucroy has played in every game since May 5th and also needs a day. I think it just is what it is in terms of how they both have off. Either way, go Brewers! Lets finish of the Diamondbacks for a 3-1 series win!
  12. Will Smith has been amazing. The Aoki trade for him was great
  13. I thought the episode and whole season was great. I loved how Arya used the coin from Jaquen Hagaar to go accros the narrow see to Bravos. Also liked Stannis at the wall and the Brianne/Hound fight. The hound has had some classic lines this season
  14. Just to put some comparison to his season vs the other catchers in MLB AVG 1. Lucroy - .340 (2nd place in all of MLB) 2. Suzuki (MIN) - .305 OBP 1. Lucroy - .401 (6th place in MLB) 2. Ruiz (PHI) - .382 SLG 1. Lucroy - .537 (14th place in MLB) 2. Montero (ARZ) - .441 OPS 1. Lucroy - .937 (10th place in MLB) 2. Montero - .798 #OurCatcherRakes
  15. I don't think anyone is arguing he would be a nice add, but it all ends up on the cost. As ReillyMC said. If they want a 1:1 for someone like Morris - i am game. But Coulter or Roache or Taylor I would pass.
  16. Ok I maxed out my votes for Lucroy. I normally don't get into the fan vote, but after last nights game I just had too.
  17. The only thing missing on this replay is Zona's cast of the slam ... would love to see their feed and possible their dugout's reaction http://m.mlb.com/video/v33814719/milari-marshall-gets-tossed-for-hitting-braun/?c_id=mlb
  18. Sportscenter about to show highlights as the scroll wheel says "tensions rise in Arizona"
  19. In response to his presser I just watched .. Ah got it. Both balls slipped and "got away" as you smile and giggle about it.
  20. RRR - I think the at bat Luc had was probably the best at bat I have ever seen. After they smoke our guy. They bring in their closer and the first pitch he sees he hits a grand slam. There is no way an AB can get bigger than that.
