  1. No way, this team was a mediocre bullpen away from winning the division last year. Their offense was third in the MLB in runs with Weeks having the worst year of his career and Lucroy out for months.
  2. I like this signing as well. Definite upgrade over Parra. You can never go wrong signing a solid LHP.
  3. Proven top tier pitcher for a guy who has done nothing in the bigs? You are all alone on this one.
  4. Run away very fast
  5. I'm with you here. I can't even remember the last time the Brewers had a good lefty in the pen. I also want nothing to do with Hamilton.
  6. I don't think Greinke likes MIL enough to give the kind of discount needed for the Crew to sign him. Never say never, but I am with raw biz at a 1% chance.
  7. I don't like any of the pitchers the o's would trade anymore than the young guys we already have. Arrieta/britton/matusz are just as much of a gamble as running Rogers/peralta/fiers out there. I think they would need a solid #2 or 3 to pull the trigger and move Hart.
  8. Keep in mind the main reason Dickey is so effective is due to his velocity. He doesn't throw a standard knuckle ball. His knuckleball sits around 77 mph, and is his ko pitch. If that velocity, which was the highest of his career, dips he could be in trouble. Especially in a hitters park like Miller Park. Not saying he can't keep throwing it long term, but he isn't the typical rubber arm knuckleballer.
  9. I would give Soria a look for sure. I have always been a fan.
  10. I actually don't think he gets traded. If he does though I think Texas because they have the prospects it would take to get him.
  11. This topic isn't about adding a bat, it's about where people think Stanton will wind up Read the posts. It started as a where will Stanton go thread and turned into a how can the Brewers get Stanton thread.
  12. I get its the offseason, and there isnt much to talk about, but there is way to many threads on this forum about adding big name bats. WE DO NOT NEED ANY BATS!!! The crew was third in the mlb in runs scored and that is with Lucroy out for months and Rick having the worst year of his career. Add a solid #2 and get some bullpen help and they contend for the division.
  13. I want no part of Hamilton. Look at who won the WS again. The Giants and their pitching. Yes, the lineup would be very tough and we would score runs, but that doesn't guarantee anything. Throw that money at Greinke and I am a happy man. The Brewer's offense is already very strong, no need to bolster that more and forget about pitching. While a Hamilton signing would be exciting it would also be very stupid IMO.
  14. JESUS! That is pretty good.
  15. I am keeping axford, henderson, kintzler, and veras. They need a true loogy. I agree with fondly, I see Melvin overspending for sure.
  16. I still think Gamel has potential, but I agree with everyone that Hart is at 1B and Aoki in right. I hope Gamel mashes in ST and then becomes a nice power LHB off the bench.
  17. I agree Aoki isn't the greatest against lefties, but what he brings to the table outside of ba and obp aren't measured. He always puts together quality abs, and that benefits the rest of the lineup. I think having him in the leadoff spot stabilizes the lineup. Also, would a platoon and irregular abs reduce his effectiveness against rhp?
  18. We need to treat these games like playoff games or at least very nearly. Loe sucks especially against lefties, in that situation you have to reevaluate the game and make it your goal to limit the Nats to 7 total runs. Allowing Loe to face 2 straight lefties does not further that goal. It serves the goal of simply ending the game. It doesnt matter if Loe can go a couple innings if he gives up 2 runs doing so. We all know they weren't winning that game once that 6 spot was put up. To pick apart the fact that Loe was left in against lefties is pointless. I get where you are going with treating these games like playoff games, but there wasn't much he could do there. He is bad a managing the pen, but we are grasping for straws trying to beat on RR for having Loe in there in that situation.
  19. Regardless of if Loe should or should not have thrown the pitch in the dirt it is the catchers job to block those pitches. It wasn't a tough pitch to block either again Lucroy's fault there as he put the runner in scoring position. Why the hell did Lucroy serve up a base hit to the next batter. Jeez I hate when the catcher cant get anyone out.....
  20. I agree, rrr kills more big innings with his bunting than any player does.
  21. Brewers get the lead back! Aoki and Braun coming up huge tonight.
