  1. Good Lord Bob Castas, Shaw did not have 11 errors at 2B. He had 11 errors all year, 1 at 2B. I couldn't believe the number when I heard it so I had to look it up. Took me 15 seconds. That's just lazy Bob.
  2. No way. Thing is, it's not like he's even in some horrible slump. It's just happened to be in the biggest games of the season. No way you put your leader on the bench in the playoffs. Especially a high contact guy who’s not prone to long slumps. People are blowing a few ABs way out of proportion I agree you don't bench him, but it's not a couple AB's. It's a couple weeks.
  3. I only need it for 4 hours 1 day. I'm just going with the YouTube TV free trial. I'm not going to play their games. I called when they took away MLB Network to complain and they basically told me "too bad, so sad".
  4. Yep. Already said this. People with cable or satellite have free MLB Network thru October 10. https://www.facebook.com/57166781694/posts/10155507169956695/ I don't with Spectrum for some reason. Checked as soon as I saw that and it's not available.
  5. The Rockies have shown nothing offensively. Even the inning when they did score against Jeffress was a lot of ground balls. One reached on an error and another that was hard hit but went about 10 feet in the air. As always, the question will be if the Brewers offense can keep from crapping the bed with runners on base.
  6. Back in the 90's I used to go bear hunting up north near the UP border and the Brewers game was always on in bars all summer long. I haven't been up there since then but if the mid 90's teams were on I'd have to imagine there would be even higher interest now. Baseball is the only sport on regularly during the summer. It's not surprising that it would be on in bars no matter how the team is doing.
  7. When I checked the Denver forecast I saw rain starting about 3:00. I assume that's local time, so about an hour after the game starts. Looking at the radar, it doesn't look like a washout storm coming through but definitely an hour or more of rain. I would think/hope they push back the start of the game instead of starting and trying to play through with an inevitable delay. The weather looks worse for tomorrow and it's not like these teams have to travel for tomorrow either, so delaying the start makes the most sense for me.
  8. Unless I'm reading that incorrectly, you have to be an MLB.TV subscriber.
  9. In my circle of people I know or associate with, no one cared about the Brewers until 2008 and then slowly stopped caring after the 2011 playoff appearance. I see people wearing Brewer stuff all the time but I'm sure most of them aren't "fans". I don't want to call them bandwagon or fair weather fans but I don't think most of Wisconsin really cares all that much about the Brewers unless they are competitive.
  10. If the pitching continues to dominate in the playoffs I see no reason to change anything with how guys are used next year.
  11. Look like a bunch of JV hitters swinging at pitches at their eyes.
  12. Ya, not sharp. That's not pessimism, that's just acknowledging what's happening.
  13. Our playoff fate is going to be decided by our offense. I don't care what Craig does with his pitchers, the hitting or lack of will be the determining factor.
  14. Not in my experience. AJ has a pretty big chip on his shoulder if you ask me... He's been the worst for sure. I'm sure the producers probably put it in his ear to talk down anything new because you can't have discussions in media anymore. It has to be I'm right and you're wrong and I'm going to put down anything I disagree with.
  15. Ya, I had to check and his overall September numbers don't look bad. But the last 15 games of the year he put up a .652 OPS with one extra base hit.
  16. I don't watch a lot of national broadcast of any baseball games. Do the announcers generally spend the whole game arguing about "new school" vs "old school"? The ESPN guys were pretty annoying during the tiebreaker game and these guys are getting close.
  17. He reasoning isn't faulty. Clearly it's not technically a "must-win," but he has a point. I found nothing wrong with what A-Rod said. A loss today would be very bad It'd be even worse for the Rockies if they were to lose.
  18. Because he guaranteed them to lose the games in Colorado as did more or less that one announcer. Apparently being a broadcaster now requires you to give "hot takes" all day, every day.
  19. When our MC Sports went out of business two years ago, they had Fielder, Weeks, and Hardy Brewers jerseys "reduced" to $20-$40. Tons of them.
  20. If Woodruff and Burnes (and possibly but probably not likely, Hader) are moved to the rotation, that really hurts the bullpen. Everyone gets excited about seeing those guys starting while generally ignoring the hit the bullpen takes. I don't know the right answer as to what to do with them.
