    Can we stop using a coaches stats as a player to judge him as a coach? Because Coles accomplished miles more as a professional player than Johnson ever did. Not a chance, when the team bats .233 with the amount of young talent to have turned as a rising avg, and instead are stuck below expectations? You have to question whether their batting history and approach is being used for the approach taken by these young players. .245/.307 .233/.304 this season MLB avg .255/.324 Last season .249/.322 MLB avg .255/324 2016 .244/.322 MLB avg .255/.321 2015 .251/.307 MLB avg .254/.317 Below MLB average every year the last 4 years. And it's even worse this season thus far with 2 additions exceeding the average who didn't play for him last season. One guy is getting results. The other is not and hasn't the entire time he's been here. It's long overdue for fresh voice to these young hitters. Better approaches at the plate during situations within the game. Solo HR swings down 3runs isn't working surprisingly. Well, ya, obviously the offense hasn't been great for a couple years but that has absolutely nothing to do with how good Darnell Coles was as a player. And it's totally irrelevant to bring up in any discussion of how effective he is as a coach.

    Unfortunately, I think they've already made that move with Saladino. And to a lesser extent Blanco.

    Its noteworthy that his flyball % jumped 10% last season which is part of the reason he showed some power output. But basically if the downside is we replace Eric Sogard with Eric Sogard? I can live with that to see if Orf can provide something more. This should be their line of thinking with pretty much any young infielder to replace Sogard. We know what Eric is, terrible to slightly less terrible sometimes. Maybe Orf is as bad or worse than Sogard. Maybe he's better, but we won't know that until we see what he can do.

    Just finished watching the latest Last Man on Earth. Overall fantastic episode and the ending left me with chills. If you're one of the many people who enjoyed it at the beginning and dropped out after a couple seasons (I don't blame you), you may want to give the end of this season and next a shot. I've read that next season is the last and it seems like they've got something to build on for a change.

    As is usually said when this comes up, I doubt Coles has any affect on the hitters good or bad. Braun is going to do his thing, regardless of who the coach is. Same with basically every veteran like Cain and Yelich. No one is going to get Santana to make more contact, other than Domingo deciding to change his approach. Villar is a total dunce in all phases of the game, no one's going to fix him. The only thing I can fault Coles for is Arcia. He looks like a pitcher at the plate sometimes, totally lost with little idea of how to swing a bat. And he's been that way since he was called up. For all we know, though, they might be working on things with him all the time and it doesn't stick or he totally ignores it. I do find it interesting that pitching coaches can actually get players to change their game. You hear it all the time from the Brewers pitchers that DJ wants them pitching up in the zone and they do it. Certainly, very few of these guys have ever been told to throw the ball up before but yet they're doing it now. On the other hand, rarely do you see hitters make any sort of adjustment to their game other than minor batting stance changes. Even the players that have been on the leading edge of the "launch angle" revolution made their swing changes on their own and worked with their own personal coaches, not team personnel.

    Yeah, it's not a super low road they're taking, but I don't see value to fueling the fire further. That's pretty funny actually. Agree it's totally lame for the Brewers official account to be posting that but it's still pretty funny.

    Yes, someone should have had him get rid of that stuff year's ago but we also need to stop caring about stupid stuff people did when they were teenagers. One thing I read about it made the great point that we, as a society, need to stop digging for every little fault to try and bring people down. This stuff has been out on the internet for years and it just coincidentally becomes a big story the day of the draft? Clearly, someone had the intent of harming his reputation and draft stock. Maybe it was an NFL team trying to get him to fall to them, but there was obviously malicious intent with putting this information out there.

    I'm sure the Orioles will hang on to him and let him walk for practically nothing. They have no clue what they're doing there.

    When schools can't field a team in summer because most of their kids are playing travel ball, you have no choice. And remember, the WIAA didn't just unilaterally make the decision. It was decided at some point in the past that if the number of summer ball schools fell to a certain number, then summer ball would go. The individual high schools made the decision to switch.

    If Thames is out, 1B is covered with Aguilar, Braun, and Perez already on the roster so I don't think Choi is the for sure callup. I think I'd prefer Phillips as he provides a lefty bat, speed, he's an actual backup CF, and plays good defense all around.

    Now that I see the replay, maybe Soler was just trying to keep the game going ha. I was thinking that too. Smart play if he did it on purpose but I don't think he did.

    I don't believe you need a full inning to get a save. Nope, still a save if he finishes it. And the Brewers win.

    Was wondering who he was talking to rounding the bases after that one. That whole sequence seemed weird. Makes you wonder if Cain will be getting one in the ribs next time he's up.

    Dustin Fowler is just hanging out in AAA, probably until the A's can get another year of control out of him. Broxton does nothing for them.

    Those early 2000's Brewers never had players the caliber of Manny Machado, Trey Mancini, or Adam Jones.

    I have seen that many times. Shows how much I pay attention then. Unless it's completely frivolous I don't think I've seen it. Doesn't happen often but it's not unusual.

    Bases loaded, no outs, and they don't score anything? This whole series has been like watching the Brewers play themselves.

    Agreed. While it wasn’t like their first, it stands alone. Very, very funny. Happy for those guys to follow up what they did the first time around as they seem like quality guys. A friend saw it today and said it was terrible. I'll see when I get around to watching it in 4 or 5 years.
