  1. Haven't watched any of the game tonight just getting updates on my phone and came here to post this: Lol, and so totally expected.
  2. Unless Realmuto can give you 7 innings of 2 run ball he's not going to help that much.
  3. The Cubs can just make up a rainout whenever they want so no disadvantage for them.
  4. Too bad Sedar took zero. If Jacob wore it we could call him Jacob Naught-ingham.
  5. Most importantly, what number will he wear? I'd guess he's not sticking with 68. I'm going to say 10.
  6. If you have a desktop just remove the hard drive from your laptop and put it into your desktop. You will need to get a few cables about $5-10 worth and you will be good. If you are going to recycle or destroy your laptop you should take your hard drive out before doing this and then have the hard drive shredded separatel or keep it as a second hard drive in your desktop. I was looking at those cables yesterday and I'm going to try it.
  7. It is funny/ironic how two people can read the same thing and have completely polar opposite reactions. That article made me greatly admire Pham and his mental toughness and ability to rise above adversity. I can see how you would get that. What really rubbed me the wrong way was how very poorly he handled how the organization handled him. If he really said the things he said he said to Cardinals management, he's very lucky they didn't release him or bury his career in A ball. There's confidence in your abilities and then there's being a jackass when you don't get what you want. He seems like an awful lot of both. And, I'm far from a prude, but anyone who uses MF in every other sentence just sounds like a real crap person.
  8. That's pretty much every team. I'm not saying it's good or bad but teams are way overly cautious when it comes to injuries nowadays. Any discomfort of any kind and the player is coming out.
  9. I watched the replay of Counsell getting tossed and you can hear the umpire say to him "you know you can't do that" in reference to him simply walking on to the field. Craig didn't say a word until he got tossed. So basically the umpire was cold and didn't want to slow the game down in any way. Except tossing Craig just made things take longer than if he didn't do anything.
  10. I'm not saying never have an opening day in a cold weather city but rotate it so that there's only one or two a year. I'd think the owners would be in favor of it. I doubt the White Sox owners were excited about their two games that drew under 1,000 each last week.
  11. I've had discussions with coaches who are mlb fans regarding the number of injuries and weather related postponements early in each season. Would MLB and the players union ever consider starting ST later, push back opening day to 3rd week of April, and bring back the double header concept in the summer. Heck, even expand rosters for the first few weeks in order to preserve overall health and quality of the product. There are plenty of warm cities and cities with domes. It wouldn't be that hard to have a schedule that mostly avoids cold weather early in the season.
  12. One thing that has always amazed me is that the NBA playoffs stretch almost two full months. The playoffs start today, but will still be going on into mid-June. I will be watching the Brewers game in its entirety today, but then again I am not sure if I would watch the Bucks in an NBA Finals game over a Brewers regular season game. NHL too. But that's what happens when half your league makes the playoffs, all series are 7 games, and you won't play on back to back days.
  13. Yay, Jackie Robinson Day. The day when you have no clue who anyone on the field is.
  14. Well the hitting has never been a concern. I can't believe his elbow is that big of a deal for as well as he's hitting. Being that it's his top hand, if he was in major pain or had significant damage I would think that would zap all the power out of his swing. My understanding is that—like golf—the power comes from the left hand, side, and hip rotation. The right hand is along for the ride With golf you have gravity helping drive the club down to the ground. Also the ball is stationary. A baseball and bat are traveling in opposite directions and whichever object has more force at impact will determine which way both will go. Without a strong top hand the ball can actually reverse the direction of the bat. I shake my head when I watch the Little League World Series. When they show replays of swings you'll see on almost every squared up hit the bat actually goes backwards at contact because the kids are so weak. But the bats are so juiced up that everyone hits homeruns. That does not happen with a wood bat. Try hitting a baseball with a wood bat and use only your bottom hand. Then use both hands and see the incredible difference.
  15. Not anymore... you must have jinxed him. It was eventual. But I don’t think some back tightness is too big of a deal. It's Braun. He'll sit the next 3 days. Say he's fine, play a game, and then hit the DL for a month. That's how his injuries go.
  16. I've got a Toshiba laptop that's about 10 years old. I tried firing it up today and it was no go. The lights come on but it doesn't start up. The only reason I even pulled it out was because there are a couple files I was going to get off of it and then recycle it. Any suggestions or am I going to have to take it somewhere. It's probably not even worth the money to have someone work on it since I'm junking it anyway.
  17. Will we see an OF of Braun, Perez, and Thames tonight?
  18. I hate the actual dog. I love dogs more than humans and for some reason this made me laugh. I hate dogs in general. They're gross, slobbery, needy, stinky, filthy things. And, yes, so is my 2 year old son. But he'll grow out of it eventually.
  19. I don't hate the actual dog, I hate the mascot version of the same dog. I hate the actual dog.
  20. Just finished reading the SI article about Tommy Pham. I know who my most hated Cardinal is going to be when Yadi retires. Pham seems like a real prick.
  21. Thank god I invested zero time in watching this game. The At Bat updates are enough to make me not care anymore.
  22. When the Brewers released their promotional schedule and the "heritage" days weren't on it but instead other new themed days and based off of some of the stupid/weird stuff they posted on social media over the offseason I said they must have a new promotions/marketing person in charge who wants to make their mark. This email basically confirms it for me.
  23. Well the hitting has never been a concern. I can't believe his elbow is that big of a deal for as well as he's hitting. Being that it's his top hand, if he was in major pain or had significant damage I would think that would zap all the power out of his swing.
  24. The Pirates are in first place again. That means they can retake the reigns as the keepers of the code like they did when they were winning wild cards.
  25. He's at like 80 pitches and the bullpen is gassed. I don't know why he wouldn't go back out there.
