  1. After the wild card games I watched hardly any of the playoffs. Most people are going to blame the teams playing or that they went up against Thursday night prime time, college football and the NFL but it really it's just the nature of the game. People don't just haphazardly watch the world series. People don't say, "hey, there's nothing on TV tonight, I'll watch the world series." Interest in baseball is dropping across the board and there's really nothing MLB or anyone can do about it.
  2. Kyle Lohse has been a bad to below average pitcher his whole career. He put up one half-way decent season at age 33. Any team that gives him a long-term, big money contract is just stupid and deserves the epic disaster they are about to be a part of. And sadly, I could easily see it being the Brewers.
  3. If Gomez puts up the season you describe he's going to get much more than that. 10 million per at least, probably much more.
  4. On the list of people ruining the U.S.'s image Lance Armstrong falls no where near relevant.
  5. I think all the good that has come from his career should grant him some sort of reprieve at least in terms of public image. Unlike PSU, his "crime" didn't hurt anyone. I personally couldn't care less about him. I read his biography for a class in college and he came off as a total piece of crap person even with someone else writing the words.
  6. The biggest mistake they made was staying in Florida. If they couldn't draw a fan base after winning two world series in just a few years they're never going to. They should have just moved somewhere instead of building a new park.
  7. Why is everyone out to get this guy? It's a pretty well known fact that being clean in cycling is the minority, so why so much effort for one guy? I mean what does anyone really have to gain to prove he cheated?
  8. Seems kind of pointless when Yo and the free agent are good for 30+ starts and 200+ innings and Estrada should be good for almost a full season's workload. Maybe something where keep Yo and the free agent on a regular 5 day schedule but use the other 4 in a mini-rotation where they fill in the rest of the days.
  9. Why 3b? Ramirez put up basically the same numbers he has for the last 8 years.
  10. Someone should tell Mike Illitch he died a couple years ago. I had never seen the guy before tonight. Holy cow does he look bad.
  11. I still maintain the Milwaukee/Wisconsin alcohol culture will keep him from signing here. I really don't want him if he's going to get paid as much or for as long as he's worth anyway.
  12. Parra got a raise this year despite not throwing one pitch last year. If he were to get a raise next year that would be more ludicrous than the raise he got this year.
  13. Is it time for Billy Beane to start trading his pitchers?
  14. Really don't care anymore. I'll only watch games if there's nothing else on.
  15. I was actually just there yesterday. My family wanted to get their picture taken with it. I don't get it. It's a statue.
  16. They got a member of their starting rotation and their starting catcher (both of whom played well for them this year) for their ace. I think they're fine with that trade.
  17. Win your division and you don't have to worry about the one game playoff. Seems pretty simple to me.
  18. It's called a wild card for a reason. Neither of these teams won their division and really don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. So I don't get all the hate about a coin flip game between two teams that shouldn't be there anyway.
  19. An outfield umpire should never make an infield fly call. That seems really obvious.
  20. I don't remember this and I'm not saying it didn't happen but if he was faking then he's never been hurt right?
  21. Why is everyone so sure about Posey? Sports Illustrated said that Yadier Molina should win the NL MVP.
  22. It isn't just about production it is about health and innings limits as well. It is really risky to go into a season with only one starter who has ever pitched a full season in the majors. Estrada has two half seasons and probably wouldn't be able to throw much more than 165 innings. Estrada made 23 starts and pitched 138 innings last year. That's more than half a season. He's going on 30 so an innings limit next year shouldn't be a huge issue and I don't recall him ever being hurt as Brewer.
  23. Is RBI Title an actual award or is it just something for announcers to talk about.
