  1. I'm pretty sure the only thing Miggy would test positive for is ice cream sandwiches.
  2. If you cant prove something exists that is NOT proof that is does not exist. I guess I was wondering what type of documentation there is to track the clutch or lack of clutch? It seems to me if they use any stats, it would be one-sided. If you use batting stats, how does that account for the pitcher's level of stress or clutch in that situation? Maybe the batter is feeling stress and would swing weakly on a good pitch, but the pitcher is also feeling the pressure and throws a fat pitch up there or walks the batter. Also, what's a clutch situation. Is hitting a homerun in a tie game with no one on in the 7th inning the same as driving in a run on a groundout in tie game in the 5th?
  3. Trade him this offseason. His hot finish will convince some GM to think he's "figured it out" and will pay for it. Even if he has figured it out he's not resigning here. Not with Boras.
  4. One has to wonder how much a language barrier is to blame for positive tests. I haven't looked it up, but from memory it seems like the majority of players that have been suspended are hispanic. I think it was David Ortiz who brought this up once before that a lot of foreign players take legitimate and legal supplements that contain banned substances because they don't understand what they can and can't take.
  5. Hasn't that the way it's been for quite a few years now? Did anyone else find it hilarious that the guy who got the most heat in the main event tag match was the only guy who's supposed to be a face? Bryan and Punk got cheers, Show not much of anything but Cena got booed. Love it.
  6. I actually thought the closing ceremony was great (other than NBC not showing The Who until after the local news!!). Perhaps Bejiing's was better quality, but if I don't know any of the entertainers, I don't care. At least I could relate to London's closing ceremony. After that little bit for Rio it made me realize I'm not going to give a crap about the Rio opening or closing ceremonies. I'm sure there will be plenty of hot women but nothing else I will really care about.
  7. They were on after the news.
  8. Hopefully. He would probably be fired for that.
  9. This is just as pointless as extending Carlos Quentin and Huston Street instead of trading them. Josh Byrnes really doesn't have a clue does he?
  10. Tailgating is wonderful. I enjoy the comradery of the fans around you(even those you don't know), hanging out with friends, drinking beers, playing bags(or whatever your choice of game is) and grilling out.....then walking in to enjoy a baseball game. It's basically a giant party before a baseball game. While i agree tailgating isn't necessary before every game, i think it can really enhance the experience if you are going with a group of friends. I guess I don't consider hanging out with a bunch of drunk college kids who don't know anything about baseball comradery but to each their own. I'd rather go to Derry's and have a drink or a burger before taking the shuttle to Miller Park.
  11. There are plenty of shuttles in Milwaukee that can take you to the park without parking anywhere close to the stadium. It's been years since I've paid for parking.
  12. Just saw this on Jim Henderson's fantasy profile. "Brewers manager Ron Roenicke indicated after Friday's game that Jim Henderson will handle save chances for now. Roenicke made the comments after John Axford blew his eighth save of the season in Friday's loss to the Astros. "Henderson, he's the one guy that's throwing the ball good," said Roenicke. "We'll give the ball to him and see what happens there." Henderson, who was just called up last week after spending 10 years in the minors, has a 1.29 ERA and 10/1 K/BB ratio over his first seven innings in the big leagues and notched saves in back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday. He's officially a must-own in mixed leagues. "
  13. I've tailgated twice. I don't see what's so great about it.
  14. He doesn't have a clue how to manage anything. There are so many reasons he should be fired for but K-Rod/Ax last night is at the top of my list right now. K-Rod is toast and should only be used when the game is out of hand. Axford has at least put a few good outings together but Henderson is clearly the hot guy right now. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  15. He's putting up a good couple of weeks just like he's done every season in Milwaukee. I want no part of him long term.
  16. Not that I disagree with that but the pitcher comes up in the second inning pretty often. On the road that means your starter pitched 1 inning. Does that really make sense?
  17. I've been ripped for saying this in the past but I'll say it again anyway. The only other major league parks I've been to are Dodger Stadium and Petco. I would rate Petco over Miller Park mainly because it's downtown. Parking wasn't an issue in San Diego, we found a lot a few blocks from the park for $10 for the day. It was great to walk around downtown before the game, something I would definitely do if Miller Park was downtown since I only go to 2 or 3 games a year and otherwise never go to Milwaukee. Petco has a few more interesting quirky things than Miller does. It was neat to watch Mike Cameron slam into the wall a few feet in front of us from the beach in left center and watch the game on the big screen in the park behind center field. Miller Park is nice and serves it's purpose for the climate but I always feel like I'm in a domed stadium, even with the roof open.
  18. Piggybacking might work in the AL when you don't have to worry about the pitcher's spot ruining your plan. I also think it could work if you only did it with one or two rotation spots, not the whole rotation.
  19. They could have waited 3 more weeks if that was the reason.
  20. No way I can pick just one. Fatbusters infomercial with Jim Carey. "Ride the snake!" Peyton Manning plays football with kids. Dieter's Dream Wayne's World with Aerosmith Any Weekend Update with Stefan or Drunk Uncle. I will specifically mention one though. It is a little known throw away last sketch of an episode with Will Ferrell, Chris Parnell, Molly Shannon, and Tim Meadows. Parnell and Shannon visit with Will Ferrell, who plays a doctor, about their baby. Will lost their baby and dodges their questions before bringing in a "specialist" named Dr. Stephen Poop played by Meadows. Meadows says, "There's nothing I can do for your baby but I can do the robot" (does the robot) "That'll be $10,000." and walks out.
  21. I highly doubt they had any thoughts of going after him before. Well, they probably did but it was more like: Mark: Hey wouldn't that be cool if we signed Josh Hamilton! Doug: Yup. END OF SCENE
  22. I would think the Yankees wouldn't waste time printing those jerseys. He's just going to be DFA'd when A-Rod comes back.
  23. Hideo Nomo, Kaz Sasaki and Ichiro respectfully disagree with you.
  24. I hate talking about the Brewers anywhere but BF.net. On Saturday here are the random thoughts that are pointless and too dumb to say anywhere else that 3 of my friends had about the Greinke trade. "Why would you trade him for minor leaguers?" "They traded him for a bunch of nobody's." "Why did they trade Greinke anyway?"
