  1. Ladder matches are better with more people in them. You can create more drama and have the opportunity for more creative spots. I think the triple threat match will be great.
  2. My brain was really bored at work today and I've been spending a lot of time on MLB Trade Rumors so this is what I think is happening at the Winter Meetings regarding Prince and Albert. Albert and his agent Dan Lozano have a private room in which they are entertaining all their suitors. The Cardinals management is sitting at a table with an open briefcase with $200 million cash. They have their arms folded and have told Albert this is their offer and he can take it or leave it. However, they have stashed another briefcase under their chair with another $40 million in it that they plan to offer if he says no. Everyone in the room can see it, knows it's there and knows what's in it. Ozzie Guillen and the newly signed Jose Reyes have a booth set up blasting salsa music with dancing scantily clad latin women. Alex Anthopoulos is in the back of the room jumping up and down trying to get noticed, but everyone is ignoring him. Theo Epstein walks into the room with a blank check in hand, using it to fan himself and loudly exclaims, "Just looking." and then walks out of the room. Brian Cashman and Ben Cherington are outside with their ears up against the door, waiting for the moment to sweep in and blow away anyone else's offer. Meanwhile down the hall Scott Boras and Prince Fielder have also rented a private room to entertain offers. Scott turns to Prince and tells him to be patient, GM's will come begging for you to sign with them. This room is not as full as Albert's. There is a maintenance man fixing a light and Doug Melvin sitting by himself twiddling his thumbs.
  3. This is my biggest reason why a salary floor is a stupid idea. What is wrong with a team saving up to spend all at once? Why should you have to spend money on a bunch of roster filling veterans when you could save it for a few impact players in one offseason.
  4. So there are now three committees to elect players into the Hall? If a guy can't make it past one why should he get two more shots?
  5. I think their two World Series banners think that's ok.
  6. ‘BASEketball’ almost predicted the Marlins uniforms in 1998
  7. Considering what Papelbon got and Madsen was rumored to get this seems like a good deal for Miami.
  8. Right now it has to be Jericho with Taker as the backup. Although as probably the biggest Chris Jericho fan at Brewerfan I really hope it isn't. I would prefer he just show up randomly or be hyped a different way. They've done the cryptic videos twice already. Try something new.
  9. That seems like a good idea except there is way too much subjectivity involved.
  10. From what I've read he's very sabermetricly minded and hates bunting. I'd love to have him in the Brewer dugout.
  11. The reason OJ hasn't been forgotten has little to do with the crime. People remember him because of the white bronco, the bloody glove, Jay Leno jokes, the Kardasians, the hoopla around the trial and the fact that OJ has made darn sure he's stayed in the spotlight ever since. Plus the whole beating up some guys over memorabilia didn't help. Like all scandals this will be out of people's minds quickly.
  12. Don't forget either that by the time you graduate this will be such old news that no one will care anymore.
  13. I had this same thought this afternoon. Might not be a terrible idea.
  14. I really don't know why it should matter. If an employer sees that you went to Penn State and decides to pass on you because of that he's most likely a petty idiot.
  15. No way Toronto accepts. Drabek's star probably isn't as bright as it was since his disastrous Major League season last year but Green is nowhere the caliber of prospect that Drabek is.
  16. I didn't know David Robertson's father was a member of the BBWA.
  17. Good points on Podsednik and Sexon. Overbay had to be traded, he wasn't really sold high he was sold because there was a clearly better player than him on the team.
  18. Truth, you pretty much made my point. There is no need to lock up a reliever unless it is for WELL below market value. Even if Axford were to sign a team friendly extension and get hurt or become ineffective, which based on history is almost a guarantee to happen, it's still money wasted. A team like the Brewers can't be spending big money on someone who only pitches 50-60 innings a year. Doug needs to do something I can only recall him doing once before (with Dan Kolb) and sell high. Not right now, not next year or even the year after but sometime before he becomes a free agent and probably well before that.
  19. No need to extend Axford, ever. Trade him before he hits free agency. Closers and relievers are never worth what they sign for.
  20. It seems pretty obvious to me that Awesome Truth will win by some sort of miscommunication between Rock and Cena. Boom, there is your angle going into Wrestlemania.
  21. As best I can tell it's not cancelled just taking a break. Either way the future doesn't look good. It's about to get "Arrested Development-ed"
  22. I thought they would suck until I saw them. Like seeing some orange on a uniform for a change.
  23. I wasn't watching at the time but isn't this Nash/HHH angle the exact same angle they did like 6 years ago?
  24. I chose The Office over the crew last night. They play like crap when I watch so I didn't turn it on until the 5th. You're welcome everyone. I thought it was a good episode. Some nice Jim and Dwight shenanigans.
  25. Nice to see Ron's little move there cost 2 outs in one inning. Morgan and Gomez almost for sure don't get double up there and both EASILY make the catch that Kotsay couldn't.
